View Full Version : Things you do for fun?

I see a lot of threads around here talking about how effective things are. So I want to ask. What kind of things do you do regardless of their effectiveness? What PAs/techs/units/wapons/strategies do you use because you like them rather than a statistical or strategic advantage?

I forgot to mention some of my own. For me it would have to be barehanded/gunslash tech usage, because shooting techs out of my hands amuses me.

For me it is as simple as using weapons I like for their looks rather than power. I've been using my Yamiskonov even at 40 just because the sound and look. And as a FO I think I may go down the ice route regardless of the Fire/Lightning tree being better, because I like Rabarta on large groups, feels so good. Also I can keep damages and PP constantly stacked with it when using a rod. For example Attack > Attack > Rabarta, and repeat just keeps damage on mobs all the time.

EDIT: Because when in a group damage is of very low concern.

Gunslash on everything lately, even in long duration fights.

I really underestimated how much damn fun the weapon could be. I was never really big on the gunblade weapon type, but I've got to say this is one fun weapon with these PA's. The half-throwback weapon, the Signo Braver, is just great too.

I also bought three last survivors (each with better stats than the last, going to resell the older ones) to use when they raise the cap, despite not being the highest damage weapon. It's a six foot combat knife, I mean come on.

I know someone who goes around exterminating Rappies (yes, the rare ones). He thinks that they are the most evil thing in the game.

Oh, I agree. Ever notice how they show up on every planet, when the only other creatures capable of that are Darkers... put two and two together and...

But yeah. Doesn't stop me from dancing with them.

Occassionaly I go on a grants killing spree. Granted though Gi grants has massive range and doesn't seem to have amount of enemies hit cap.

Plus panic is entertaining.

Also I use the ying-yang cards despite how weak they are.

All wired lance Photon Arts.

All the god damned time.

I have never had more fun in a game like this with one weapon type.

Other Cyclone/Other Spin amuses me to no end with what enemies actually CAN be spun and bowled into other enemy groups. Just that huge group of numbers popping up from surrounding enemies is so damn satisfying.

No seriously though I can't really say I do anything out of the ordinary for fun. Ok except maybe weak bullet trolling

Some teammates and I pieced together a full-scale board game in one of our rooms.

That or flood each other's rooms with parrots and teach them naughty words.

That would actually make for a really fun and interesting player run event. o 3o Someone should get on that.

Ever notice that over half of the hunter PAs involve spinning...? I think it's a sign.

If I see a parrot in someone's room or a lillipa I will not hesitate to try and teach it "BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS!"

So, if that's happened to anybody here, it was probably me!

Teaching parrots is fun, another even more fun thing is put a bunch of those dolls together, get some friends to have a conversatipn next to them to produce some hilarity

That sounds like me. I think they are the generals over the darkers, like one time with 4 rare rappies guarding the rescue cage i were in but no enemies were around

Wired lance is definitively my favorite weapon type, so fun spinning things.

I'm honestly running out of things to do. I have a whole other character to level, but I'm just lazy right now and don't want to go through that hassle of doing all those client orders again (to unlock the new areas, etc.). The only thing that entertains me now is playing with my friends (since there's no use soloing; I'm not going to find any rares I want, anyway), but I always feel like I'm being a bother and/or intruding when I ask to play with them.

So usually I just run around in the lobby aimlessly and log off after like ten minutes, hah.

That's a silly thing to worry about in an online multiplayer game. But I guess I know the feeling.

That's a silly thing to worry about in an online multiplayer game. But I guess I know the feeling.

It makes no difference in my brain if it's virtual or physical interaction. I just have these feelings of dread that overtake me whenever I try to open the floor to conversation in any sort of medium, like I'm being annoying or something.

Though, more on-topic, "for fun" I've been hanging in my room with some friends who happen to stop in. It's nice just hanging out and talking about the game, etc.

Shoulda seen where people always casted techs with their foot by doing a straight kick while wielding mechguns in PSO

Even better was watching someone cast shifta on themselves, so they just do the kick for no reason at all.

Bare hand casting on FOmar too, that was quality.

What I do for fun?

After having so much trouble with fongalfs and galfs on ranger, and then switching to hunter. You have absolutely no idea how sinister it feels to toss them on the ground with wired PA's. I slam them into trees, rocks, you name it. I purposely LOOK for these things just grab them with my PAs and slam them. It's even more evil when I wait for them to do their charge.

I love whacking enemies with my rod even if I have full PP.

Other than that, I often start dancing when defeating a boss so everyone in the party sees me in front of the dying boss doing that silly PSU (?) dance.

Apart from climbing onto everything, everywhere...
Using rising edge to take shortcuts everytime I can(even when it's a loss of time in the end)
Getting hit by mines, flame geysers or Big varder's explosion(especially Big varder's explosion)or whatever on purpose so I can fly around then just rehearsal.
Sliding down the outter part of stairs in the lobby.

... and of course, trying to jump into the camp ship's pool slightly differently every single time.

- Use only Sword Step Attack on a lot of enemies, because it's one of few options for kicking. Don't care if it's weak, so are all of the enemies.
