I'm currently playing a HUnewman and I wanted a striking/ability mag.

After weighing my options for trigger/auto effects and photon bursts, I decided to go with Libra, but I'm still not sure which attribute to focus on more. Here are the possible end stats I could do:

(The first 2 are basically the same)

Striking: 75
Tech: 1
Ability(dex): 74

Striking: 74
Tech: 1
Ability(dex): 75

Striking: 49
Tech: 1
Ability(dex): 100

This

Striking: 49
Tech: 1
Ability(dex): 100

that is if you are planning to use the same mag for playing Ranger and Force. You can easily recover the loss of +26 S-Atk with a armour part with +30 S-Atk. The Skill stat works with all three classes so you don't lose that much stat/level from changing class.

I believe the first one wouldn't work, since they would be equal, and it would evolve into the basic striking mag at 150, making you sad forever

Actually it would work, if it lvl 149 it was Libra, and had:

Striking 74
Tech: 1
Ability: 74

Leveling the striking to 75, as you said would make it equal with ability+tech, but when a mag reaches its evolution, and no stat is dominant, it won't evolve. (I had a baby mag until level 35 because ability/striking were both 15 at lvl 30)

But I think I'm still going to go with what psu000 suggested, especially because I prefer using Gunblad...slashes, and ability is the required stat.

No, my brother tested this. Because the stats are equal, it doesn't qualify for Libra anymore, and it evolves into the basic striking mag. It's a fact

the current strongest gunslash actually requires 458 strike attack.
cruel coffin comes in 3rd.

for completeness sake, 2nd place is the twizzler, which requires ratk.

What gunslash is that? I'm only lvl 22, but all the gunslashes I've seen so far had an ability req, when does that change?
