between cast hunter and cast ranger?

I'd say that a pure striking mag or a pure ranged mag would be a mistake
You act like switching classes itself is a mistake, since ability is the best way to go if you aren't going to buy a new mag. Although, equipment requirements are going to be tough, especially if you don't get the stat skills
Assuming you only get +10 S-Atk as Hunter for Sword Gear, your mag would need 15 S-Atk, 30 R-Atk, 15 R-Def, then 90 Ability I suppose (this lets hunter use Alba Calibur, and lets ranger use Alba Laser and the 9* units at level 40)

Um... If you're only going to get one mag, pure ability might be best. Striking is kind of a waste on ranger, and ranged a waste on hunter.

If you're going this route, though, invest heavily in +strike and +defense talents. +50 each should do. You need those to equip good weapons when you cap. It might seem like a waste, but you'll be too low on those skills to equip anything. And if your striking and defense is low, the percentage increases most people get won't do much anyway.

Or you could go 50stirking, 50ranger, and 50ability.

Edit: Ah, rock posted while I was typing.

does that even help?

You get a splash of everything you want.

And your gunslash will love you on both classes.

Also people should remember that we're obviously not going to be stuck with just these basic classes. There will be mixing and matching once sub-classes hit.

Saying another stat based around another basic class is "useless"... well I dunno about that...

The main point of a mag is to increase your base stats so you can equip better equipment. Once you start grinding weapons and armor (grind your weapons and armor, by the way), the difference between your attack before and after you have your mag equipped is minimal, even if it's pure attack. However, the difference between being able to equip an equipment piece, and not being able to, is pretty big.

So, I'm contradicting what I said before. 35 levels of striking, ranged attack, ranged defense, and striking defense might be best...

Uhg, I don't know. It's like trying to figure out the best ice force build. The best answer is to go fire anyway. I say, use that mag to get 50 levels of attack and defense, and figure out how to buy some AC so you can get your second mag.

back to what i orginally said

i would buy a new mag if there was 1 but is the only mag the starter mag or no

and is this premium AC mag any good (i heard no info on it)

It's just another mag.

You get an additional basic mag.

SEGA designed the system for you to spend AC and buy another mag, especially if you want to play the other classes. There's really no way around it.

You skipped level 85, 90, and 95? That's.. clever. I haven't thought about designing a mag with that trick

Don't see why you don't recommend this, at least if you don't have plans for future Mags and love to change to all 3 classes it can work well.

Better than Full Ability for that sort of hybrid as the other stats actually help out with equipment and if you really need the ability you can get them by Rappy Souls. (Meanwhile I think every Race/Class can equip all ABL Req weapons at Lv 40 )

Doing this myself to get a Apus that has 10 Ability and the rest split evenly into the 3 attacking stats. (As well as I can) Went trough the route to get PP / J and PP / E as well.
