Nomatter what keybinding I use, for some reason fraps doesn't seem to wanna record anything in PSO2, it won't even show my fps.

I've never tried using fraps on an online game so I'm not sure if I need to do something else to record.

If Fraps doesn't work, XSplit seems to do local recording fine, albeit in low-res for the free version. It's what I use to stream on twitch.tv. Just have to load it before loading PSO2.

GameGuard's recent update seems to have made Fraps unusable, someone was talking about fraps in http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=199822 somewhere+^_^+ all i can say is wait awhile and see if a future patch fixes things+^_^+

Yeah I'm guessing Game Guard's new theory is any program running with PSO2 must be a hack and is imminently shut down lol.

Yeah. GameGuard is a super douche. Apparently I was trying to be an evil hacker yesterday by using my evil hacking tool known as the Zune software. I had to exit the game just to update my phone.

I'm fine with the update tbh. I can still use music programs at least, so I don't have to hear that mediocre ingame music.

After several days of not working with PSO2 (64-bit Windows 7, like most), fraps is again working for me this morning. The steam overlay still fails to load, though it's been down for longer and I don't care about it as much.

Free and better. What else is there to say?

Is is actually much better, for the time being, than other recording tools. You can limit the frame-rate at a higher rate and record in 30fps, plus mjpeg (100% quality is lossless), which can be used by any editing tool. I can record at 1080p resolution without noticeable frame drops when gaming, so that is a big plus.
But normally if fraps don't work, aftterburner/rivatuner won't either.
Since the update yesterday however, both should work just fine.
