I know there are a lot of talks about elemental on weapons already, but from my understand, elemental boost counts only with weapon's basic attack. It's no doubt element > no element on equivalent weapons, just I still can't decide whether that say I should choose a 491~501 matk rod without element over a 400 matk one with. Thinking of making 2 more 400 matk rods if the 491~501 rod isn't worth the money. How about those high attack rods, Garland for example, but without elemental? Share your thoughts:-)

I'd go with the 501 T-ATK one, because I thought element in PSO2 was no longer %-based but rather an attack mod against enemies weak to it. So if you consider a maximum bonus from element of +50, the ~500 weapon is always going to beat the ~400 one.

I don't have numbers for this unfortunately but this is my understanding.

Elements do not affect technics AT ALL. Technics are already 100% of whatever element they represent, which means the element bonus on your weapon only affects your basic attacks and nothing else.

As you may or may not have noticed, this means that elemental weaknesses are marginal at best - it seems "weakness" for most monsters is something like 10% less resistance.

Element is not needed for ROd, unless you use it to whack people.
It's better to spend it on a Gunslash to recover PP faster from.

Whilst element on a rod is essentially worthless, if you do the math element has the potential to do a lot of damage. Let's look at a talis with 50% element and 500 T-ATK as an example. 50% of 500 is 250 500+250=750. So that would mean a lot more power from your weapon. The downside though? It still has to go through the damage calculator first, and if it's anything like most games it goes through as 250&500 not 750. However you still get more damage, usually at least ~20+ I think.

For Tech stuff, you should REALLY not care about elements. Its not going to do quite enough to help you in the end when all it helps with is your melee. That said, it is amusing hitting 1600+ with it on weak shotted targets.

Also, for all of you Gunslash recovery lovers, Bouquet Rifle 'nuff said.

Except gunslashes recover PP much better.

Seem normal and hard mode enemy has different resistant to their element.
Probably this is something to check again on very hard mode.
