But being a "HU"cast implies that it was a hunter from the beginning. <_<

If you mean "RAcast", or "FOcast", for example, the answer is that switching classes doesn't affect in any way the stat growth of your character, because each class is completely independent from the rest. If you're a Ranger level 20 and switch to Hunter you'll start as a Hunter level 1, and if you go back to Ranger it will be still level 20 and with the same stats as you left it.

Nothing is different. Both of you start from level 1 and gain stats exactly the same way. Only difference at all is that you probably don't have a hunter based MAG although that's hardly going to be affecting you.
