Yes. Give them voice chat in-game. Let them talk about cocks, anal jokes from WoW, and getting laid and 420quickscoping techniques verbally.

a balanced over the shoulder pvp mode for rangers only. dodge can only be used every 2-3 seconds to avoid invuln. framing everything, no launchers(or atleast nerf them to be slow firing and only one air jump shot) - only mechgun/rifle/gunslash.
ctf, deathmatch, horde mode, arathi basin-style(nodes to defend).

Thing I *wish* and *pray* would be added to PSO2 in the near future:

1) Twin Claws (wired lances are cool, but I want just close-combat claws please)

2) Slicers ( they've been in nearly every Phantasy Star game, where are they?)

3) Playable Mini-games, bring back the Nights Into Dreams mini game, Chao Garden, and a Space Harrier Mini Game. Let us win a few FUN points when we play them.

4) Classic 8-Bit and 16 Bit Phantasy Star weapons: Laconia Sword, Laconia Axe(as a partisan), Psycho Wand, Silver Tusk (as a twin dagger), Nei series (with purple photon edges and dark gun-metal grey body) Nei Sword, Nei Claws (twin claws!), Nei Slicer, Nei Shot (as a Launcher).

5) Myau the muskcat doll, Pyke (Gryz) the motavian warrior doll (as room decorations)

6) Music disks of SEGA ROCK's arrange versions of classic Ps Music

7) Soccor Lobby Mode for the main lobby.

8 ) a "Red Photon: ZILLION" themed area (similar to PSO's Space-ship) with Ruby Bullet as a very high star rare drop.

( can someone help me translate this into Japanese so I may suggest these to Mr. Sakai on his blog?)

If Sakai ever adds these (by some miracle) I will shyt bricks and proclaim Sakai my new god and worship him... maybe...

Spice it up by adding card battles to it. I see the lobby as more of PlayOnline Viewer, and the quests and such like actually playing, like in Final Fantasy XI. We should get an expansion that adds a card duel challenge based on cards you obtain through story, event promos, your total time played, # of people visiting your room, # of items you purchase via MyShop, etc etc.

Also give us awesome rewards for it like Red Sabers or Red Knuckles or... 100% forbidden taboo like Hambagah Mags and Red Rings.

Also add C-Mode. The portal at the end of each boss fight could send you to the start of the next area instead of to a lobby, or maybe to a central control area...

The real reason people want voice chat is because sexting can sometimes send your kinky shenanigans to team or local or party, instead of whisper.

- PSP2 S rank aggression/Alpha test aggression
- Boost enemy stats by 25% for every player in an MPA, for a maximum of 3x the base stats.
- Decrease, or do away with the ability to stagger lock enemies infinitely (this made Ultimate in PSO extremely easy too). They should at least get an iron stance after a certain amount of consecutive hits.
- Vastly increase the amount of enemies that appear in an MPA per player
- Make it so that solo players get at least a 2 player amount of enemies per mission
- Allow more than one "major" boss of the same type on the field at once (2-3 Ragne's/Vol's etc etc). I think it's stupid how one pops up after another, it'd be far more chaotic/challenging to just have 3 Ragne's show up out of nowhere in a cluttered place like the Mines, or in an area where they can spread out and Bloodwave repeatedly like the Desert.

I feel not many people would enjoy my ideas though.

Also, unlock all Hard mode levels at the set level of 20.

I'd like to be able to make my own gear kind of, like in PSU and other games, where you do a questline and find pieces of the armor or weapon that you'd like to make? I'd love to be able to make a Safety Heart Armor again.

Or even just crafting of some sort... I dunno. I don't really wanna MPA anymore now. When people first started saying they were bored at 40, I was like whatever. I was farming MPAs nonstop and making lots of meseta. But now that I have a lot, I'd rather have something else to do. Questlines for certain gear or cool costumes. Like I understand it's PSO and PSO is a hunting game, but... if they're keeping level caps, then there has to be more to it. ._. IMO

Rei-San
Aug 20, 2012, 11:48 PM
Things that could spice up the game IMO, Please tell me what you all think cause I think these are wonderful ideas:

More Weapon Classes. Even with the 5 new ones There is a severe lack of weapons compared to previous installments. The Forces and Rangers have jack shit compared to what the hunters are having/getting. We need ALL of the old weapon classes back and revamped, like the Sabers can come back as the "agito" class which is just a sword and sheath weapon. The sheath plays a roll in how the weapon works like guarding and some PA's can use it for attacking. Or we can have a Saber & Shield class, and some rares could have a sheath as a shield instead. (Can you imagine Kusanagi and Yata Mirror making a comeback in this class?)
More Weapons period. See above.
Unique rares. If you know me or have played PSO2 with me, then you will know that I won't stop bitching about this ALL of the weapons are just aesthetics, just with better stats. All the weapons are boring if they don't do nothing special. They need to be like they were in PSO. I can make a top 5 list alone on what should be done to fix this, but lets try this: 1.Some rares should have a special way to obtain them besides drops in which there were some weapons that had a special way of obtaining them like combining 2 rares to make one rare or completing a series of quests. 2. Some rares had a unique special attack they could use with the extra button. This could be done by making a patch that not only introduce new weapons in the game, but put new PAs in that can only be used with the new weapons, and "balancing" shouldn't be an issue. They don't need to be all powerful, and if they do, put limits on them. Like have it take from the PA gauge. 3. Make it to where some weapons can only be one unique element and have a status inflicting ability to go with that elements. It pisses me off to no end that Cruel Coffin can be any other element besides ice... And it doesn't even freeze. And the Gudda Skela can be Ice-element only again that inflicts sleep, I mean... They all ready patched it to where it has its bubbles again. 4. Some should have unique attack animations, guns especially should have a unique fire. not bullets... but fire. One rare rife should be single fire but that one shot can do about as much damage as the usual burst, And if spread needle returns it needs to fire spread shots, and if snow shooter returns it needs to have a chance to freeze you (and please make it ice element only... -_-)
New races, Beasts and Dumans need to return. Now before you all give me hate and say "This isn't PSU2, They need to be far away from this game as this isn't gurhal." Here's what I think: This ISN'T PSU2, This isn't Gurahl, this isn't even PSO1's universe. It wouldn't kill anything to add them to the story and gameplay. Granted their stats were a little weird, but just balance them to were they are useful. I feel that character creating and developing them was a great part about PS and more races would be fun. I'm not good with explaining myself with this but... I see nothing wrong with putting beasts and Dumans in. AT ALL.
Mini-games. Hacking and slashing gets boring after a while. Lobby games or interrupt event that don't involve fighting could be fun. Stuff like the soccer lobby or anything that could be entertaining.
Use of vehicles. The concept in PSU was fun, I enjoyed driving the tank to destroy walls, air boarding, and riding on top of those.... whatever the fuck those things were in the moatoob desert (tonnio seemed to love them, lol), but it was never fully utilized at all, save those only times. They may not have done this because they feel it would deviate to far from what PS really is, but they could have refined it in a way that it wasn't a huge part of the game. It can be like an emergency mission or a kind of mini game, or special mission. But I was just dying to do something else besides fight.
More depth to mags. I love mags, so I feel like they can stand out more as a concept, considering the road that PS has gone down with in terms of "partners", I've always felt that mags are more alive then just a convenient computer companion, especially after talking to Eleanor about it in PSO. They even have a "stomach gauge. So one f the things that could make mags stand out more as a character is like this. They should better convey emotions and movements.
More mag cells. They are finally getting around to doing this, but I wanted to see more mags. Sato is a good starts but I also wanted unique mags like a rappy.
Balance the PB. I feel like they need more PBs, and that they need to make the ones we already have more useful. I never use the unicorn. The 6 armed ones is literally the best in the game and pretty much everyone I've partied with uses it...
More PAs. Especially some... no... ALL of the old ones from PSU and PSZ plus the new ones. It will give fighting more depth than it already has.
PVP. I cant stress this enough.
Custom characeter fighting animation. This would be cool. Out of already existing styles, You can either pick the look your self via the makeup center, or it can be dependent on how you raise you character. This aestetic feature can affect how you hold your weapon, move or attack. Forces already can teleport and rangers can already dodge roll. What if you made an Acrofighter that can flip or dodge roll like the rangers or have a "flash stepping" animation that looks like the forces teleport without the sparkles?
Pets, or make your mags more like pets. Like if they eat a unique mag cell, it can turn them into a pet monster or something and follow you on the ground instead of floating. This may be a dumb idea, but what ever...
Retro Stages. We should get the old PSO levels as emergency missions. And add Episode 2 stages in the mix.
Retro characters. Cause I miss the old PSO gang, and some of PSUs. They should also be in an event that allows them to be obtained as a partner character.
More costumes, hair styles, and other features. What we have don't fee like enough.
Make the enemy AI better. Or at least make them harder both game play wise and AI wise on harder difficulties like V.Hard and Ultimate. It's kinda a joke now. The Banshee's are my favorite enemies right now, not just cause of their looks, but because they are actually hard. They get my adrenaline pumping, and they are fun to fight, I feel like I have accomplished something when I kill them, especially if my whole team was getting their asses whooped with me. Vol Dragon is my second favorite cause I like Dragons, and he is a bit hard. Same with Ragne, but... You get my point.

But hey, if you've been in the PS community long enough (which I'm sure most of you have) then you know that Sega has a unique pattern with PS games. The make a PS game, we love it, but then we always find something to complain about to make it better, then an expansion comes out to make the last one completely obsolete and fixed all of the problems the last one had.

This seems to be the weird marketing gimmick that Sega uses, cause I don't see why they always move 2 steps forward and one step backwards with their games. We hated PSU, but PSP2:i was amazing. So I hope that Sakai fixes all of this in the near future. PSO2 now in my own opinion is "above averaged", It's fun but not perfect...

Exhaustion and Backfire.

Swinging a big sword makes you start moving slower over time and have less PP regen

Using Electricity in the rain might cause you and your allies to get shocked
Using Fire in a heat wave might light you and your allies on fire.

All of those mechanics are terrible ideas. All 3 of those add frustration and annoyance, while adding nothing to the fun factor of the game. While realism in games like shooters serves a purpose, it would add nothing positive to this game; it's the same reason there is no fall damage, it's not a "fun" mechanic.

Interactive emotes are unfortunately impossible with the height variations in this game, unless they come up with some kind of incredible new dynamic animation system (they won't). For example, for a character at the tallest height to slap a character of the shortest height, they would have to first kneel and then reach down to actually reach the shorter character's face.

Lately I've been noticing gamers have grown soft, when I was young there were videogames that you'd spend weeks without being even able to beat a single boss. I know I'd really angry at dying like a flea at a 3 boss spam, but seriously, it'd be insane.

3 Vol dragons, anyone?

Zyrusticae
Aug 22, 2012, 12:32 AM
Actually, I agree that they should have multiple bosses able to spawn at once, but only in the event there is more than one party on the field (which is pretty much all the time, really).

It's just rather annoying how bosses in MPAs get focused down to oblivion on the order of seconds. Having multiple bosses spawn simultaneously would really help to alleviate that.

Of course, so would having much larger escorts and spawns in general...

For the love of Falz, please never add voice chat to a Phantasy Star game. It will ruin the experience and take away from the role play aspect of the game. I agree with the mini-games idea. It is always good to have an outlet from the typical day to day activities. I remember back on the dreamcast when Ver. 2 came out, i spent hours kicking around the soccer lobby. Hm, maybe I was thinking of a more innovative group system.. minds kind of clouded too explain.

One thing that I really miss from PSU, and I would have loved that they enhanced instead of eliminated, was the dual-wielding system. PSU's sistem was a bit stiff, and proof is that they had to add stuff like madoogs to allow for this flaw, but I liked the concept.

For me, a dual-wielding system would make use of a set of weapons that would be labelled, of course, as "single-handed". These weapons could be used on either hand, also allowing for a "twin" version of that weapon. In this case, you could have a Saber on your left or on your right (depending on the hand, attacks and PAs would be simply mirrored) and also on both. This would also mean (always thinking on the way PSU handled the weapon system) that you'd be able to make very unique combinations, like saber + dagger, twin wands, dagger + claw, crossbow + card, etc. On it's simplest use, these weapons would behave exactly as they'd do in PSU with the "normal combinations, meaning that you'd have the attack button to use a weapon with it's PA, then hold the trigger and would go to the other hand in a similar way that you's go from saber to handgun. This would also be true in case of twin weapons: a priori you'd just have two sabers, to use them independently.

But now, the pizzazz of the deal, would be the fact that the game would allow for "set combos". When you chose a weapon combination that would be able to form a combo, the game would allow you to switch to the "twin" version. This would come with a different attack pattern and some changes to the weapon powers to match the new style. So if you equipped two sabers, you could choose to use them as two single sabers, or as twin sabers. This could also be extended to "non-twin" combinations: there could be a set of PAs and attacks suited for saber + claw, saber + dagger, dagger + whip... etc.

Of course, PSU was different, and I didn't think much about how PSO2 would address this change. I just feel that we did a step backwards, and instead of "fixing" the errors from the previous game, we just shunned it.

Double air dash\jump that are you can cancel into attacks, allow to rebind weapon switching from numpad, a weapon that's even more mobile than spear.

Just make trash monsters tougher. Being able to cut down a group without finishing a combo is getting pretty boring, and it's that much worse in multiparties. Just want the regular enemies to be a challenge, not a chore.

Ah That is messed up! I played PSU on the ps2, by the time i realized it was on 360 i had already lost interest in it! Thx for the correction tho, cause I had no idea it had ever had a voice chat in it! I agree with the first person idea tho. Makes it alot better to apreciate scenery and such!

The thing I liked about PSU was in order to do that one mission you wanted to do, it usually required you to do X, Y, Z, and maybe Q mission to get to the lobby for that mission. Or you had a friend already in that lobby where that particular mission is zoned in from, who you party with, and get the NPC to teleport you there. That was cool. Until some idioto thought it was a good idea to zone out instead of waiting for the leader to reset the mission so we DON'T have to work back to that lobby, and can re-do the mission... you know what mission I'm referring to. I was one of those idiotos who zoned out while you were busy breaking boxes and typing GG! :3c

I always loved joining one of the on-going parties on the way to certain missions. You never knew WHO you'd bump into. Some idiots who say it's a private party without a password and kick you, or people sexting in the kugu hot springs, or a Hunter throwing every single cuss word he can at Maggas Magahna when it decides it wants to teleport nonstop for half an hour... <3

This, and having multiple awesome lobbies to hang out in... like the beach or the oasis.

Also, I think faster movement speed and mobs in bigger numbers would be good too.

Wait, wait, wait, people actually LIKED having those irritating multiple lobbies that you had to travel to to get a different quest?

If you wanted different looks that'd be as easy as changing the appearances of blocks. The multiple lobbies seemed more to me like a barrier to newbies. I had no idea where I was meant to go for my level bracket, so I wound up having to level alone half the time. The internet and forums in general were no help whatsoever, and this was before an english wiki existed (or before one existed that I could find).

Maybe they were nice when you were used to them and had a resource for what was where, but god damn were they awful for new players.

I didn't like that you HAD to travel to certain lobbies for certain quests, I agree that it wasn't smart but it was nice to have different areas to hang out in.

Ideally, we should have been able to take any quest from any counter.

What I have said multiple times is that what they should do is make each block different so that people have a reason to go to different blocks... and you wouldn't have to do anything to "explain it" in a story sense because it's a ship with trams and such to the ports.

Well, call me weirdo, but I actually enjoyed it sometimes. I remember hitching rides in ongoing missions to reach a certain lobby and that for me was a nice thing, because it reminded me of other MMOs where you gotta walk over like 8 maps to reach a certain dungeon. People is too lazy nowadays.

Personally I would have preferred that you had to walk through certain missions to reach a lobby, but that you could set 1~4 favorite lobbies to insta-warp there from your room.

The problem with PSU doing it is that there was nothing there.

In PSU you have City > Mission > area that is just there to annoy you

In other MMOs you have City > Area > City or City > area > danger zone

Some zones that are just there for aesthetics is nice, but when that's all they are it becomes annoying and reminds you how shallow the world's development is.

I do agree that most lobbies in PSU were just an open area with nothing else. But that's something I've been seeing for a long time in many MMOs, even in the "classic" ones like Ragnarök Online, that at the end there's always an area that attracts the people and the rest are empty as fuck. In RO, for example, the problem is the vendor system, as you gotta park your character in a place and people has to go to there and look at your shop to see what you have. Because of that, you find the main city completely swarmed by vendors to the point that you can't even see where you're walking, and all the rest (which are pretty cool, too) are usually empty except for the weekly guild wars where you gotta go to some of them.

But the problem there is, in my opinion, two things: 1) lack of interesting features in said lobbies/cities, and 2) lack of intelligent ways to overcome the nuisance of having to go there do that.

yeah, most people just sit by the spaceport gate on PSO2, and it's probably one of the least pleasing places in PSO2 imo, the lighting really messes with how my character looks, and everything's a dull color, I'd rather hang at the shop area, but that's not where the mission counter is+^_^+ i really think they should aesthetically change the spaceport lobby according to the current theme, like right now they're doing that summer thing, whole lobby should look like a sunny beach imo, their realism excuse can be that it's an artificial place (star trek holodeck, or PS fashion VR?)+^_^+

Darki
Aug 23, 2012, 02:15 AM
They should just add many more areas to the main lobby. For example a city area where you're out in the streets and you can walk around with a pub and stuff like that. Add them to the main lobby and there's no problem for going into the missions.

I understand that in this game the setting is a wandering fleet of spaceships with no planetary setting, but for example the lilipas are "friends", it would be really cute to have a "lilipa city" lobby with furries walking around giving client orders.
