Lisa has her own fan-thread, so why not Doo Doo? We all know him as that not-so-lovable son-of-a-gun in the item lab who grinds your weapons using the latest new, space-age grinding technology: the RNG.

Again, not being as terrible doesn't make it good. High-end upgrading is ridiculously unforgiving in this game, whether the thing is destroyed during one of the many, many fails or not.

Hell, it would almost be a relief to have the thing explode at times; at least then the waste of time, money, and patience would end.

Of course, one would also get that if it just fucking worked, but that's a lot to ask for ol' Doo-doo most days.

This. I really hate the PSU grinder guy. I could never get a perfect 10/10 on anything without breaking. Sure I have my 9/9 Dark Flow but I wanted it to be 10/10 FFS.

Holy god! OUCH! I don't hate him per say, in that I caught on quickly that he's a complete dick when it comes to attributes and completely gave up on trying at all. Grinding seems to work, but I think grinding is a better thought out system. honestly, for attributes there is no reason that all of those should fail; plus the fact that you loose all of your fodder and end up with a gimped weapon is really stupid. I'm sitting back and waiting until they revamp it in a future update.

Altho i will say this. Lately, i have had shyt success rates..and thats with 130LV Dex mag. I normally dont have a problem gettin 7*'s to plus 10. But i just burned 500k, trying to get my boxing gloves higher than +7. I am now sitting at +3. And broke. I swear sega is evil. The new emergency's dont spawn enemies like they used too. PSE Burst seem harder to chain. Its like the game just wont spawn what you need at times, even with full party. The other day, fail two city missions back to back. It was the 500 Pt Variations. Both times we could not get past 200/500, and thats with the cake shop event. Sega's starting to drop the ball with these "balance" changes.

End of 2cents.

He is to me too. Grinding has been pretty good outside of a couple hard-headed weapons. Transfering attributes has been 50/50.

I think if players were allowed the shoot their weapons in the shop area it would most likely be in Doo Doo's direction. lol You would have walk-byes on him daily.

Yeah I gave up with grinding rares to +10 and putting more than one ability. I dont even care if I go around with a gimp weapon.

Alot of the game is great, but on a few things the game definantly is worse off.

On topic: Wenn, no pics lol, but I was grinding a 7 star wep, got it to +2 and failed 9 times in a row, with a safe chance, i got it to +3, then when i tried again it failed and dropped to +2 and failed 3 more times. Not too bad compared to some of my old luck, but still annoying.

How the heck do u have such high %'s on those?

not that it would matter for me, i fail everything anyway even with 75% success (yet i land 37% success all the time)

i cant even get 2 abilities on a weapon (any say power I and mind I for example, at 75% chance on each) ever. one fails the other succeeds. 500k meseta later, im still at 1 ability or less and give up : /

Seriously though, I'd love to see the materials that went into that. Getting two Shoot IIIs and 2 Fang Souls on 3 items sounds overly complicated. Or was it just two Shoot II's, 2 Fang Souls, and a Mutation I to boost it up? I'd still want to see the materials since I plan to do something similar on my gear.

lol easy, infact if he wanted he could have had 100% chance on all 3, Fang soul on Target + both materials, Shoot II on target and both materials, thats 80% already to make those work, now use a 20% success rate up item and bam 100%, no fail. :) Lots of tricks to give the middle finger back at Doo-Doo lol

Problem is, I cant even manage to get Power I + Mind I (or any combination of 70%+ I's) on a weapon that started at 0 or 1 abilities (my cruel flouga for example) Let alone try and get Power II + Quartz Soul

Indeed... I was trying to get Power 3 and Vol Soul on 3 pieces of 5* armor.

700k later, I tried the same with my 3* 50% +10 double sabers and ended up losing over 2 million in total and only getting 2 out of my 4 double sabers with the affixes I wanted. :S

We need to find out where his family lives. :D

I'll have to finally join the Doo Doo hate club. I finally know why I was having good luck with him. I've been grinding lower starred weapons and units. I rather keep grinding lower starred stuff because weapons of the same name are cheaper for grinding elements.

I don't even bother anymore. I just buy everything premade now. This games outdated enhancing system being up to random chance is just not worth the hassle. Dodo himself is pretty unintentionally hilarious though, and all of the fanart I have seen of him has brought me priceless moments of joy.

Yeah, 'DooDoo' is just a weird byproduct of the English patch translations, just like some other npc names.

You're mistaking the small ウ (u) in ドゥドゥ for a full-sized one. The small ウ when attached to ド (do) changes its pronunciation to "du." So his name is literally "Dudu" which is where the translators came up with Doo Doo.

As a side note, ドードー and ドウドウ would both be "dōdō" with slight differences in how long the vowel is.

Last night i broke 1 mil meseta again, so i figured hey why not try getting a second ability on my cruel flouga (or whatever its called).

So i decided to start by putting mind I & power I on it, and to my surprise, it worked! 2 abilities that both landed at 75% chance on first attempt (this NEVER happens, usually takes at least 120k) Also prior to this, i attempted to grind it from 8 to 9, and sure enough, first attempt it hits 9.

With this, i figured my luck was pretty good today so i went and bought some power/quartz soul items from the shop and some mutation I power items. I first attempt to get mutation and power II on the weapon so that i have a higher chance at power III. Mutation fails so i get the weapon back to Power I and Mind I. Then i try the quartz and power II. I even buy a +5% chance in hopes that it would help (im never buying a +10% or +20% item at 600k only to have another 70% roll chance fail like it normally does and be down an additional 600k). Only Power II lands. I curse a little and try to get it to have 2 slots again, only to have both fail.

So im down to 0 abilities and -200k meseta or so at this point. I decide to try again only with power I. Eventually I keep failing until im back down to 0 abilities. I say fuck it and attempt quartz soul from 0 a couple times (40% chance) and it eventually hits and i stop. 500k meseta down and im back to where i started.

I mentioned this in my team and one of the players told me of an alternative to possibly get higher success rating, but it doesnt make sense on how it would work?

He said, get any cheap weapon to have power 3 on it, and get another weapon with fang soul on it. Then use cruel flouga as the target weapon and the power 3 and fang soul weapons as materials. Then switch out the fang soul for quartz soul somehow?

I have no clue how this would increase my chances (if even), but is there some secret affixing methods i dont know about (involving souls and such)

Just like Mizer increases the affixation of Shoot, Fang increases the affix chance of Power. Quartz increases the affix chance of Technique, too.

This is why Mizer Souls are so expensive, RA Soul AND increases Shoot chance too, plus Mizer is a total jew.

Oh, ok that makes sense. Although its actually getting quartz on a weapon as well as power III that seems to be the problem. I can only ever get one or the other.

What would be the best way to go about doing something like this then? Should i do as he said and just put two "joke" affixes on my target weapon (power I & mind I for example on flouga)

Then get a cheap weapon with fang soul & something else (probably power) and another weapon with Power III + something else.

But this doesnt really seem logical, becuz even if i got the material weapons as above, i'd still have to get fang soul + power III on flouga, attempt power III again to go with quartz soul? it'd still be around 50& quartz and whatever for power 3 [and quartz will probably fail]

I've just lost a ton of money and material to Dodo (whatever the spelling is) myself. Now I have 200 meseta left, 1 grinder, and my partisan is back to +6. *sigh*
At least I still have some good fodder. I'm not sure I'm gonna try to go for PoisonV, though.

You can get the success rates higher, but that would require using at least 1 weapon with Quartz/Power3 anyway...which kinda defeats the point and isn't recommended unless you have tons of money.

Step 1
>Create a slot on your target weapon using any junk.
>Get two 1slot weapons, [1x Fang Soul] & [1x Power III]
>Use the above two weapons on your target, and you'll have an 80% chance of transferring Power III to it.

You now have a target weapon with Power III.

From here, you have 2 choices.
#1) Simply find another two 1-slot weapons with Quartz Soul, and affix them onto your target. This will have a [37%/45%] chance of success. It actually works more often than you'd expect....
Additionally, you can use a +5% boost item for this method to raise the odds to [42%/50%] Because let's face it, the 60k you'll spend on one isn't much in reality. It can cost 60k just trying to open up slots again if you fail...

#2) Find two 1-slot weapons, [1x Fang Soul] & [1xAnythingElse], combine them with your Power3 target weapon and i think you'll have a 60%/75% chance of ending up with a 2slot Power 3 target weapon. From here just do the same as above and find 2x 2-slot Quartz Soul weapons and put the whole thing together for a [50%/60%] chance.

I tried getting a ragne soul onto a weapon using the extra slot. 40% chance of success. Failed 5 times in a row. Kind of frustrated I bought 2 weapons with technic II and tried adding technic III with a 24.5% chance of success and it worked.

I don't hate DooDoo. He's that friend that lets you earn your lumps and than laughs and says, "I told you so!" So yea, that makes him a douche sometimes, but I deserve it.

My Techer has been using an Alva Cane for just about 15 levels. I wanted an upgrade as a present to myself for hitting Lv40. A Cornelia is about 6 million meseta on Ship 09 (usually more) but instead of hunting one down on De Malmoth I decided to buy a decent Smith Thor for just about 1 mil. Why? I don't know. I shouldn't've, but my story doesn't end there.

I went to put Poison III, Gwana Soul, and Spirit Boost on the weapon. Had everything set up for the transfer and BAM! Gwana Soul drops. Spirit Boost and Poison III on the weapon... I guess so long as it's +10 I won't actually lose S-Atk on the upgrade... This Smith Thor started at +3. Over 200 grinders and almost another million meseta later, it's +2. I throw the rest of my grinders at it to get it +6 and put it back on the player shops to break even. (It might've sold? Who knows.)

So I take one of my Alva Canes (already +10) and switch the Quartz Soul to Poison III (I wanted that poison!) and... nope, failed. Grabbed Poison III again as per Dextro's advise above. Worked. Poison and Gwana? Failed. Failed... Success! A good bit of cash thrown aside to get it, but not my partner companion has a dark cane that poisons a lot. And poison ignition :D

So yea... DooDoo punished me hard for making a weapon I had no business making on my wallet.
