Halloween Meet-Up and Event Thread [Winners Announced!]

Yes! It’s finally time for my favorite holiday, again!
Time for trick-or-treating, playing horror games, eating monkey brains and throwing costume parties!
Even PSO2 itself celebrates Halloween by adding Halloween-themed content!

However, we would also like to celebrate it and what better way to do so than to throw an in-game Halloween party?
That’s right, we (that includes Koga-chan, MissMalice and myself) decided to organize and host another Meet & Greet for players around here to meet in-game and maybe establish a few new social links!
(Too much Persona... *cough*)

Are you new to the game and in search of English-speaking players?
Or are you a PSO2-veteran who would like to meet a few new faces?
Then this is your chance!

On Saturday, October 27th, there’ll be another Meet & Greet!
For the details, please check the second post below, made by MissMalice!

But that’s not all!

With the help of TenebriS, we also decided to connect this with a few more events in form of Halloween-themed contests for everyone to (hopefully) enjoy!

From today until midnight of October 31st (PST), there’ll be a total of three different contests for you to participate in:
a costume contest, a symbol art contest and a screenshot contest!

You are free to enter all three of them! However, you can only win ONE contest!
There will be one winner for each contest, so three different winners in total.
Of course there’ll also be prizes!

*Because creating a symbol art involves much more work and effort, I think it's only fair if it receives a special prize. The opening post has already been updated and I will update the other threads in a few moments.

Would it be possible to do it twice with different people hosting or something? I've often found that EU times are usually too far apart from NA times to hold an event for both, unless it's for EDT/EST and as far west as you can get in EU.

Well, ship 02 and 10 have the most people from around here playing and no one of us (who organize this) is on ship 08 :-?
You can always volunteer as a host for ship 08 and see if you get a lot of people together, though xD

On a side-note, I'm really sorry that we couldn't get it at an earlier time slot for the European community. Optimally, I'd say once every two weeks. But, once a month at least. Doesn't have to be the same hosts every time; people could opt to "organize" it, and do so however they'd like. I just think it would be good for people to interact with each other on a larger scale like that more often.

I'm actually really glad (and surprised) that you guys liked the event~ I knew we wouldn't be able to keep everyone entertained, but it's a learning experience! From the ship10 event a couple of months ago, I figured out that having little games or activities help keep people interested~ So, for next time we can hopefully have some more stimulating games or mini-events [with actual prizes this time...].

As always, feedback, comments, and suggestions for the next event will be greatly appreciated!

I personally have to agree with MissMalice :/
We definitely should do this again, but I also think making meet-ups too regular would kinda make them less special and interesting >_<
Though, the question is, when does it become too regular?
I would have said, the next one actually would be perfect around Christmas. Maybe a week or so before...
Every other week would definitely be too often, but well, that's just my opinion ^^;
If you do things like that too often, they lose that feeling of being something 'special' :-?

Sorry but a Desert EM takes priority for me over a meet and greet event~ I got most of the people from PSO-World already. By the time I was done with the EM the event was already bussy for 40 minutes.

I can say that for sure, because shortly after you arrived I disconnected the first time and we had our talk about the time getting set back, remember?
For us the meet-up started at 2 am and it was still 2 am when we talked about time zones xD
So yeah, you missed almost an entire hour of the meet & greet :-?

Then came the pic taking and the Vol Dragon slaughter and after that was over, I headed back to the red room where a few people were still there and Saki and Tedo were about to leave.
The second time I disconnected was around 3 am, so another hour later and that was when Saki, Tedo and I got ready to do Time Attack!

So I guess the whole thing lasted for 1 1/2 to almost 2 hours O_o

Well, that first begs the question who around here would actually like to host something like this then?
I think MissMalice did a great job and I wouldn't have a problem helping to organize another meet up, but if anyone else likes to volunteer, feel free to do so ^^

I wouldn't mind holding some meet ups, I did some (and helped) on the JP PSU version which all went really great. So holding some for PSO2 would be really fun as well. And I would already have some fun ideas for the people that would come!

I would mind host either. I have done a few on JP PSU aswell, i think they turned out good. Not much complaining there. o:
But I also wouldn't mind team up with others. Remembering back to the meet and greets I hosted, it's always good to have some help.

There aren't that many screenshot entries, yet, or in other words:
The competition is still rather small, so chances of winning aren't that bad xD

As expected, this contest got the most entries and there were a few really good and creative ones. Out of all of them, I like this one the most, because I think it's a neat idea cosplaying Ragne. This costume is dark, it's creepy and it's creative. No Halloween accessories were used, but it still gets the job done!

This was a really, really hard decision >_< There was a screenshot relatively similar to Ama-chan's and both of them were definitely the best ones in my opinion.
However, because they were quite similar, it was hard to pick the winner between the two...
In the end, I chose Ama-chan's, because of the colors or rather the lack thereof. The dark background really helps to create an ominous and sinister atmosphere.

symbol art is backwards and weird, on top of that, i could not for the life of me find a thin straight line, all were either curved or whatnot, how can i make stick figure without straight line?? (wishes i could just use the paint brush thingy like paint has)+^_^+ i did start a Halloween symbol art, but with the severe limits symbol art has, i didn't have it half finished on Nov 2nd, which was after contest end+^_^+ most people aren't prodigal artists like you contest people think we are+^_^+ anyway, congrats to the winners!! some excellent pics there (especially Ama's screen, looks like a castle in the dead of night there)+^_^+
