Alienware, seriously? Well, yes, that'll run PSO2 on max settings, no problem.

Hold on just a minute there... Alien case does not mean Alienware PC.

I'm guessing this is not Alienware (it would probably have more than 4GB ram and the mid level processor if it was).

It's going to be important to find out what graphics card this system has in it. Nvidia 1080p HDMI could be a number of different things. That's probably going to be the determining factor on whether or not this can run PSO2 well.

Edit: If this (http://www.computerlx.com/config.aspx?t=&product_ID=2079) is the PC you're looking at, then it has onboard graphics by default, which will not run PSO2 well at all. You would need to upgrade to an actual graphics card.

^ if that's the site your getting it from, you can get a 610 2GB for $54 more withit+^_^+ that would run 2 PSO2s+^_^+

still it's pretty bare bones for $500+ (another $35 for usb 3.0 when Mobo already must have pins for it)+^_^+

The Geforce GT610 is an entry level card and is not meant for gaming, most likely it can only run PSO2 at minimum settings.

really?? i thought it would be better then my own integrated GT 540m, which gets 50FPS at max settings, and about 20-30FPS in a PSE burst+^_^+

*checks GT540M specifications*

GT610 is worse than yours, the GT540M has twice the number of shader processors and texture units than the GT610, it has twice the memory bandwidth too, the GT540M is comparable to the retail version of the GT630 (except that the GT540M has lower clocks).

ah, ok, and yeah, the 750 MHz core clock does kinda suck+^_^+

You're right. I saw "Alien" and jumped to conclusions. I should have read more closely.

Put a GTX650 or a ati 7770 in it and it will run PSO2 very well. For a bit more money put 1600mhz ddr3 RAM to get the most out of the CPU.

Hope you have a good Internet connection (unlike mine) otherwise you will lag on well populated blocks.

According to the link that Tomeeboy posted, from the graphics cards listed, the very minimum he should go for is the Radeon HD6570, but if possible, something better would be alot more preferrable (like the Geforce GTS450, GTX550 Ti, or Radeon HD6770).

Motherboard and processor, I suggest going for the Asus P8B75-M listed and the processor Core i5 3450.
He could also go for a Core i3 3220 to make the PC more affordable, if the PC is mostly for PSO2, there's no need for an i5.

Memory, if he goes with with B75 motherboard instead of the H61, he can then choose 1600MHz memory instead of 1333MHz (H61 chipsets are limited at 1333MHz memory), he can go with the 4GB (2x2GB) 1600MHz kit with the B75 motherboard.

Power supply...now this is the most problematic here. Choosing a weak power supply from an unknown brand is dangerous.
My suggestions, for any of the cards I suggested in the beginning of the post, a Corsair 430W is fine, but for better cards than those, he should go for the 600W model instead.

A final note, if he's building the PC from the link that Tomeeboy posted, note that the PC doesn't come with an Operative System (Windows) by default, it's $99 more to have Windows (either 7 or 8).

I'd also recommend upping the RAM to at least 6GB, preferably 8GB. Not specifically for PSO2, but just in general for a smooth running Windows 7 gaming rig.

his goal is to PLAY...so what is the cheapest build he can get to simply run the game.
So that in the future he can slowly as funds allow improve components to be where he wants to be...again the goal atm is just simply to play.

From Tomeeboy link, something good enough for around medium settings (it could run at max settings but with either framerate drops or a low framerate, so for a more smooth experience I recommend medium settings/preset 3):

Processor: Intel Pentium G850
Motherboard: Asus P8B75-M
Memory: 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz RAM
Graphics Card: Radeon HD6570
Power Supply: Corsair 430W
The rest leave as it is in the link.

Total without OS: $483
Total with OS (either Windows 7 or 8): $582.99

I'd also recommend upping the RAM to at least 6GB, preferably 8GB. Not specifically for PSO2, but just in general for a smooth running Windows 7 gaming rig.
4GB is enough for today's games, there's really no need for more, especially for someone that doesn't want to spend alot.

I have a few examples of computer builds save for the OS that you can consider taking a look to get an idea of good parts to purchase. They range from $500-$600. Don't know if I can post this link here.

A more recent build is here. Take advantage of the promo codes because they will expire soon. Take out the hard drive or ssd if you don't need it. You can downgrade the GPU also.

Thanks to all that posted and most of all to RagolianHunter for the help. I finally found my pw for psoworld :) I have one question though, as I decide which suggestion to go with upon ordering, with this build, does anyone think there will be any big issues of compatibility that will need troubleshooting? Again, thanks for all the help, you guys are awesome!

Whats wrong with alienware again?

the markup, Alien-ware charges twice as much for a rig then building one your self (i have a good build in a doc that cost some $600, competing Alien-ware costs at least $1300) +^_^+ also, Dell owns them now, so proprietary and hard to replace/upgrade parts+^_^+

Not the to mention the lackluster service and a warranty that does nothing.

Just be a bit wary of the 550Ti. It can handle high quality settings, but doesn't handle heat well.

My experience with the customer service was dismal, the service rep insisted I did not have my computer plugged into an outlet. To make matters worse he told me I needed to renew my warranty in order to have it sent in and looked at when my warranty was good for another 3 months.

Is there a card similar that does take heat well?

560 and 570 are better at handling it and can be left on for a few days at a time.

There are many cards can be left on for days even months. I feel that the 560 and 570 are not worth their price right now. The 550ti may play some games on high but at low resolutions and no extra effects. 7850 is the best bang for your buck card right now. 660 is a good performer too but the price does not match its performance. If you need a sub $100 look at the 6850 or 7770.

I am also wondering if my computer can run PSO2 well. I'm confident in my processor, but since I'm using a laptop and Crysis 2 regularly puts me through my paces graphically, I thought it best to check ahead of time.

6 GB DDR3 RAM
Intel Core i7-2630QM Quad Core @2 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 6570M
750 GB HDD

I know I can run it, but how well? :/

Edit: Ah, I should mention that I only plan on playing the game at a resolution of either 1366x768 (max. supported laptop screen resolution) or 1280x720 if I really want to save some extra fps. No plans on using this rig for 1080p.

Should be able to run at max settings or near it so give it a try.
