So, i have a problem, and I'm asking you, YES YOU! The wonderful community of PSOW for advice :)

Basically i have a level 31 hunter and 8 fighter, do i level the fighter or just do hunter and get to 50 without a good subclass?

Thanks :)

If you want a respectable stat boost for your main class, you should level whatever class you're going to sub, as well.

Yeah you need to level both but it blows when you hit level 41. You have to get nearly 300k to level to 42 just to open up the areas outside of the Vhard forest.

Uh, level Fighter and Hunter, and then subclass Fighter as Hunter. I'm not sure what else you would mean.

Well, should i level hunter to 50, then fighter to 50, or fighter to 40 then hunter to 40, and then just progressively go from there? :l

Get them both to 40 first.

Fighter to 40 will allow you to have a respectable FI subclass for taking Hunter to 50. I'd do FI first.

Get them both to 40, this is pretty much critical, as both trees need around level 40 to be very good subs for each other.

After that, just level which one you want. The SP after 40 isn't going to give you much more benefits (unless you didn't go for Stances / JA on your trees first ...), although it it quite nice on the HU tree for Stance Ups.

Ya, your subclass is extremely important. I would get your subclass up to a decently high level first. The stat boosts you will get from your subclass will greatly help everything else and you will be able to level far easier.

Ide say 40/40. But get your Sub to a higher level first like say 25. Then you can get your main to 40-then sub to 40. That would be my suggestion :D

Nuts to the stat boosts, what you REALLY want are those stances on fighter.

I wouldn't nuts them. Those extra points go a very long way to equipping armor.

The amount of xp it takes to get from 1 to 40 on any class is approximately the same as the exp required to get from 40-43.

Your best bet would be getting one class to lvl 40, and with that class, complete as many high level CO's you can to turn in on your lower level character when it hits level 20 (to make 20-25 breeze by) and repeat or just keep fightin on the lower guy.

Sub the hugher guy on the lower, obviously, to make things easier.

Ok so, i should level hunter then fighter?
Or do you guys mean get fighter to 20 and then get hunter to 40, and use the client orders to level up fighter? :o

I say keep them both the same level. You can keep yourself busy by trying to keep up with client orders and matterboards. I capped 3 classes before I could finish all those (back when the cap was 40, and there was only three classes), so keeping 2 leveled up shouldn't be tough.

Matterboard hmm, not really done much of that :l

Level hunter, apply CO's to fighter, then swap sometimes because fighter is great but then hunter is also great and variety is great.

Matterboard 5 gives you some great weapons for very little work. Grind those to 10 (should take all of 5 minutes and at most 100k meseta), and they're better than most rares you can get (grinded up to a decent amount). I don't know how good anything past 5 is, but I'll let you know as soon as I do.

To add to what Zorafim said, Matterboard 6 and 7 have some pretty decent stuff as well. They are worth clearing.

Basically, main Fighter (sub Hunter) when going through Normal mode. Plug COs into either class as necessary. Or main Hunter (sub Fighter, for what it's worth) on Hard, and grind COs out, plugging then into Fighter along the way.

I would get Fighter to 40 first.

So you can use those broken stances.

My advice: Bring Fighter up to the level of Hunter, to start.

So: Fighter/Hunter to 31.

Then, pick one class or the other. Get it to 40.

Then get the other one to 40.

Then get both to 42, in the same manner.

Above 42, the exp curve really takes off. So pick one class and level it up until you feel like you are beating your head against the wall, then level the other one a bit for a break from the ridiculously high exp-to-level.

Keep switching back and forth as you feel like it until both are 50.

I want GU/HU as my final class. Way back in the beginning I got RA to 40, and was immediately able to get GU. From then I lvled until Subclass came out. Now my GU is 21, and I've put him on hold to level HU. Basically what I do is just spam all high lvl quests as RA and give the exp to GU till he reaches atleast 25. Once you hit 25 it will be very easy to get some decent MPAs to grind levels out. But my plan from that point is pretty much to level GU from 25 - 50 by grinding and some minor help from COs, while HU gets all of the benefit from CO exp.

No matter how you take it though, it will take some time and patience to get to that 50/50 mark.

Lvl hu with enemies and level Fi with co's that is what I'm doing.
