I read one of the articles of how one guy had a high level character, but his DC broke, and he couldn't use his character anymore. And the customer service didn't help him much. I felt bad and I read this off an aol PSO message board:

"u know, u can resest the memory on the dc, just plug in one controller in the port "B" slot, insert the web browser, then hold x and b on the controller, then turn it on, then wait until the dc is done booting up, then your dc memory should be erased"

I hope this helps a lot of yahs.

Thanks for the info Cirrsplat.

Unfortunately, resetting the DC's internal wouldn't help restoring the character. The Sonic Team has programmed PSO to be very picky. When you log on to the PSO server for the first time, your serial number /access key, your Dreamcast ID together with a server generated key are stored in Dreamcast's internal memory. Once the internal memory is reset, the PSO server would detect a key mismatch when you connect online, and it would not allow the character to be log on.
