Question about character slots

I have two characters, one in ship 1, and one in ship 2. If I delete my character in ship 1, will I be able to create a new character in ship 2?

No; currently, speaking, the slots are tied to the ship they were 'started' at, unless you pay AC for the right to move the character to another ship... sorry!
