I started playing PSO2 JP on ship 7 as an experiment, fully intending to wait for the NA release before I started playing seriously. After 5 months of silence from SAO, I caved and started playing for real, but ship 7's English community is lacking.

I just forked over the 1400 yen to move myself and my roommate over to Ship 2. So basically, this is me saying "Hello, everyone!"

Also, I'll be on some time between 8 and 9 PM Central time tonight if anyone wants to bump into me on block 20/21.

Welcome to SHIP 2 ! Best thing you ever did :D

There's loads of awesome helpful people here. Some like block 20, some don't but if you need a hand with anything, maybe jump in the SHIP 2 Voice Chat... always at least a few dudes on there ready to answer any questions or help you with a mission or 5 :D

Thanks, man! What is this voice chat you speak of? I've been on PSOW for years, but I'm new to the actual forums. Is it some kind of TS or Vent for PSO2 players?

Welcome on board!:o

Thank you very much! Happy to be here!

As a matter of fact, I do! If we ever bump into each other, I'll treat you to a Shifta drink.

Just kidding

Only slightly and that's the sad part. Block 20 is where the majority of the English players like to hang out. Oddly enough (perhaps not so odd,) block 20 is also the most rage-inducing block on the ship, with porn spamming and people acting like idiots. However, that has calmed down lately. It still happens a lot, though.

BUT

Welcome to Ship 2.

Thanks for the welcome, duders.

Yeah, I've heard mixed reviews. Some people say 10 is better because it's less crowded, while others say it's best to avoid 2 and 10 altogether and stick to a ship where English speakers are sparse yet mature. (Like ship 7)

I'm pretty optimistic so far. It's really nice being around other players who love PSO that I can actually talk to without using Google Translate. Emergency quests are also WAY more fun with a high population.

To put into perspective the contrast I'm experiencing; I made it to level 26 on Ship 7, and I had never seen more than 3 players besides myself participating in a Falz Hands emergency. (2 friends and a random Japanese-speaking person) After that, seeing 10-12 players who all speak English cooperating at once makes dealing with the occasional doucher worth it.

EDIT:

Ohhh babay you are ever so kind <3 I think I'm you already :P

And I you!

I can tell you this: If you're level 40+ and want to do VH quests or EQs, block 9 (or 10 if 9 is full, etc. We know how PSO works) is your best bet, since the people over on block 20 never have any VH exploration quests in any area. Also, Dark Falz is horrendous on block 20 because people focus the core instead of destroying the arms for extra loot.

So if you're wondering where all the VH content is, it's on block 9.

Ah, those are some good points. I'll be sure to remember that.

What does "VH" mean exactly? "Very Hard"?

EDIT: Well, that seems kind of obvious now that I've thought about it for a second. I was just thrown off by the term "VH content". Is there anything special about VH once I get there besides a difficulty bump and better drops?

It means just that.

Since you mentioned you're level 28, you can find people in blocks 5-8 who focus on efficiency rather than rushing the maps. There are a fair number of english speaking players that want to focus on getting the most out of an MPA.

Edit: 10 star weapons and units, level 11-14 discs. All of which are untradeable, but offer some of the best gear around.

Ah, sounds quite interesting! Speaking of meeting new people, I'm running into a predicament where I have more than 3 friends I play with regularly now. Since parties are limited to 4 total, is there an effective way for multiple parties to play together? I've seen the "Join as separate party" option at the quest counter, but I don't really grasp how that works since missions are made up of multi-party areas AND single-party areas.

Gear is always nice! I generally prioritize style over stars though. Really hoping to find more gunslashes that don't look like guns. I've always had a saber as my primary. (I used a Brand +32 for far longer than was appropriate in PSO)

There are a couple of options of the party menu, they basically block people other friends and/or team members and creates a new field specifically for you as long as a password is set.

You can password your party and check the "block multi party requests" and give the password to who you want to play with. Then use public chat to coordinate your other friends so you can all meet up in the same area once out on the field.

Ok, I think I see what you guys are getting at. Tonight will be my second night on ship 2, so I'm excited to get home and play. I'm gonna be getting on around 8 PM Central, so in about 4 hours. Me and my Team are mostly just grinding tonight. Some of them are starting at level 1 instead of moving their characters to ship 2, so anyone is welcome to show up and kill stuff, regardless of level.

Edit: I'll probably either give out my Team Speak password or get a Google Hangout going so we can get a little chatty while we murder things. (All you need to participate in a Google Hangout is a GMail or YouTube account)
