While digging and fixing my storage room, it ended up and I saw my Family Computer I kept and I played since my childhood... :-o
Good memories... ^^

Now, still remember your very 1st video game you played on your entire life? (Computer games are accepted.)

Mine was: Super Mario on Family Computer.

[SPOILER-BOX]I remember I broke Super Mario bullet of Family Computer while I was a little boy, too bad I can't include in this photo. :-(

Pong - my grandparent's won it at some sort of Sears related drawing, back in the late 70's.
We still have the thing...

My first arcade game was Space Invaders, though I have fond memories of Tempest, Galaxian, Sea Wolf and Battlezone...man this brings back memories.

I miss arcades...

I'd so trade the convenience of digital downloadable games for arcade games...

Pac-Man on Atari, I think. Either that or Super Mario Bros + Duck Hunt on our brand new NES.

Might've been the Mario All Stars Pack for SNES... though I had a genesis also and not sure which I had first, if it was my genesis then I think it was Sonic 2 ^^;

I got my first game console in 1993 as a Christmas present from my uncle (which is very uncharacteristic of him, considering that since then he has never given anyone a gift that costs more than $20); it was a SNES bundle with Super Mario All-Stars, Super Mario World, Vegas Stakes, and Super Play Action Football. Looking at it right now.

First game I owned? I think it was more like several learning games on the PC when I was a child, like Reader Rabbit 2, Commander Keen: Marooned on Mars, the non-Taito "edutainment" game Zoo Keeper on DOS, Midnight Rescue!... and several others. I think my parents wanted us to have safe & fun entertainment on the computer if we were to use it. Of course, that all changed when my uncle came a few years later and introduced Mortal Kombat and Wolfenstein 3D for DOS...

Oh man, Steel Talons. That game I rented cause OH MAN IT LOOKS LIKE THE FUTURE! That thing ran some kinda awful on the Genesis if I remember right. I think it was the same engine as Hard Drivin'.

My first game would be Super Mario Bros in 1994. Sad to say that the NES was already beaten up but that thing game me just enough time to beat the game for the first time before it gave out. ^^;

Yeah, I thought it was amazing as a kid, then I played again a decade later and it's great if you wanna play something like Star Fox at 2 FPS.

My mom was a big fan of Super Mario Brothers, and Tetris, but my uncle from my dads side would bring over games, too. So it would have to be those, lol

The first one I played was just called 'Grand Prix', and it was on a huge black box with a 'pad' that had 3 massive multicoloured buttons on it. Totally forget what it was called.

After that, I played stuff like these:

Alien Breed 2 (Amiga A500)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DRegNMCrIs
Yes, one of my first games had dismembered people strewn throughout the levels. It used to terrify me as a kid, but I loved it.

Project X (Amiga A500)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23LVfbnzaGQ

And probably my favourite retro game of all time:

Lotus Turbo Challenge (Amiga A500)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAk27BvWpsg
Spent so much time playing this as a kid, and it's ultimately responsible for my love of cars.

God I loved the Amiga. Probably showing my age a bit, haha.

I remember visiting my uncle when he had a Commodore 64. He had Q-bert and some other games I don't remember, and that was my first gaming experience. Felt good beating the first level in Q-bert, then got owned in the second. Keyboard controls were hard back then, and are still hard for me today.

Also I played Galaga and Pac Man when my parents took me to the Arcade. I bet most people here don't remember old school arcade games. Good times.

My most memorable gaming experience was of course Super Mario Bros and Duck hunt. I feel old.

My very first official game as well. Along with my first official gameboy. Of course it wouldn't be tradition without Nintendo's lovely bundle packs. I received that game along with Tetris added.

Yeah, i have played Bubble Bobble. I borrowed that through one of my big sisters friends when i were really little.

The music can get on your nerves, but it had alot of level variety and bubble combos you could make. I remember getting scared of the time-out ghost, haha

Also, more great classics i borrowed were Adventure Island 2 & Adventure of Lolo 2.

Super Mario 2 on the NES and after all these years the console and game still are in perfect condition *sniff*

On the PC it would be a tie between Diablo 1 or Red Alert 1, not sure when I played first.

Remember it? I still have it, and it still works like a charm too. The Sears version of the Video Pinball (Model C-380) machine. Been on loan to my brother for awhile now, but he's moving so I'm taking care of it again so it doesn't go into storage.

It has a super-long video out cable so that the whole system can fit on your lap. Came with Pinball I & II, Pinpaddle I & II, Basketball, Breakaway, & Breakout.

It's not really my generation though, and it's not like I have any really fond memories of it. I just remember having all of my cousins from my aunt come over and they'd play it with my older brother. I usually just sat in front of the TV with my sister and watched them... but occasionally got to play a few rounds when they wanted to see how awesome they were compared to little kids. My fond memories and greater influences came from the generation of the TI 99/4A (Parsec, MunchMan, Hunt the Wampus, Qbert, DonkeyKong), 386 PC (King's Quest, Countdown, Commander Keen, Quest for Glory, A10 Tank Killer, Leisure Suit Larry), and the Sega Master System (Fantasy Zone II, Phantasy Star, OutRun, Ghostbusters).

Still, it was my first video gaming experience.

*Raises hand* I loved playing this game I never go to see the ending though. The final boss was impossible. =/
The music was my favorite thing about the game other than the gameplay.

The first game that I had? Math Blaster. First 'non-educational' title? Sim City 2000 I think. That would've been, what, 16 years ago or more now. I was 12 when I got my first game system, a GameBoy Color with Tetris DX and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. I got into games late compared to my peers. I spent more time wandering around in the woods than playing games to be honest.

From what I can remember, I can attribute my start as a gamer to two different events:

- I received an original Game Boy as a gift when I was young. The game? Home Alone 2. Ugh. Luckily, I also got Tetris, which is now one of my favorite games of all time, along with many of its various spin-offs, like Planet Puzzle League. Then later on down the line, Pokemon happened (and oddly enough, Pokemon Puzzle League, which I still play on an emulator).

- Some of my cousins had a NES and/or a Sega Genesis, and I remember watching them play things like the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge, Tecmo Bowl, Sonic, etc. For some reason I ended up liking Sonic a lot, and my folks got me a Genesis and eventually, just about every Sonic game that was on it. I remember even getting the Sega CD and 32X add-ons just so I could play Sonic CD and Knuckles' Chaotix... yeah, that Knuckles' Chaotix, lol. I also had a subscription to some of the comics for a while.

After that, I took a huge liking in the N64, and gradually got into series like Mario, Zelda, Rare's stuff (back when they were good, lol), as well as some of the then "old" SNES games that are now considered classics. At the time, I didn't have a SNES, but later on, I got to experience Super Mario World, Donkey Kong, etc. from my friends... as well as Tetris Attack. Ohhhhh, do I love me some Tetris Attack, lol... well, now it's Puzzle League, since technically games with "Tetris" in the title have to actually involve the iconic 4-block pieces... ANYWAY...

While that was going on, one of my cousins brought his Playstation with him while we were visiting our grandma's house, and it was there that I was exposed to Final Fantasy VII, and (at the time), how awesome all the cutscenes and things looked. YAY I LIKE FF NAO STILL NEED TO PLAY SOME OF THE OLDER ONEZ.

Then Gamecube came along, and my friends in school got me into PSO! YAAAAAAAAAAY

And then PSU! BOOOOOOOOOO

And now PC gaming and MMORPG's and things like Minecraft! YAAAAAAAAY WHERE DID MY LIFE GO.

*EDIT* - I also remember playing The Oregon Trail and Word/Number Munchers back in school, and a weird tank/capture-the-flag style game called Spectre on one of my dad's old Mac computers he had at work. ^^

Something in an Atari 2600, perhaps that 2 players "snake" game where you had to make the opponent hit your or his/her trail or the wall to win.

Wow, that is awesome VioletSkye, I've never seen that thing in the wild, aside from one of the triangular cartridges! Such a unique console.

The first game I remember playing was Haunted House for the Atari 2600. I also vaguely remember Duck Hunt, though I think I was just watching my cousins play it.

The way my family received the NES was an intersting story. The year was 1990. The President was a stupid head. And my aunt called my mom a few weeks before Christmas. She asked my mother if we would like an NES system for Christmas. My mom was VERY against this. So a bit over a week later, we received a large wrapped gift inn the mail. My mother called and asked what it was. "oh, you know. dishes". My mom thought it would be a useful gift. Christmas day, we opened the gift. My dad, older brother and I were so happy. My mom was nice enough to let us keep it. And I'm a big gamer now.

I'm not sure if I can narrow it down to the first, but I can remember the first few...

They were on DOS I think. One was a target shooting game. Objects would scroll by the screen and you'd shoot them. The other was Gorillas, two gorillas threw bananas at each other. You'd have to enter a direction and force to throw the banana.

However, I may have played Super Mario on the NES before those, I really can't remember.
