Well, most of us deeply love PSO2 and the entire series. 8-)
Some, travelling (or living) in Tokyo are wondering "Is PSO2 so popular?"
"Is there a beautiful netcafe dedicated to our beloved game?" :-?

YES! 8-)

http://jiqoo.jp/pela/dat/pso2121121.jpg

The room has multiple stations, to play together and have loads of fun.
Clearly, netcafe points every minute, 3 hours, 1100 yen, free drinks , available all the day

Worth every minute, but beware, it's always full, book your seat ;-)

Welcome to last October, I guess. I still don't see the point of going out somewhere and paying to play a game you can play for free at home, especially when you need to play 1440 minutes to get enough cafe points (http://pso2.jp/netcafe/cafepoint/) to exchange for something useful. That comes out to 8800 yen for a single EX Cube.

It takes more than 24 hours of farming to get a tenstar you know

That price ain't so bad

played PSO2 in the netcafe during my Japan trip end 2012. Aside from netcafe points, those who played from netcafe will automatically be in netcafe premium mode; you'll have almost all privileges of premium set even though you did not activate your own premium set.

It's a social experience unto itself. You're in a netcafe specifically designed to cater to PSO2 players. You're 99% sure to run into other PSO2 players there, and can geek out about it right alongside of them. It's the same feeling you get when you go to an anime convention, or something similar. It's a welcoming, accepting environment.

I think it's worth the extra money to do that every now and again. All of the time? No way; I'd rather play at home. But sometimes it's fun to mingle with like-minded individuals.

So you have to pay to play a free to play game just because the computers bigger and stronger and it comes with a racing chair?

Then you'd have to be a cafe fiend in general just to play in them enough to BARELY get any useful cafe items?

Nah I'm with Mike on this one.

This is the exact spirit of this room, and the reason to go there. Believe me , it's full every single day, everyone talking about pso2 content, you're surrounded of pso2 lovers :)
you have to book or you can wait an entire day not playing.
(Book by phone, or at counter, phone is better and faster if you can speak japanaese)
They obiouvsly accept multiple booking (reserve the room for your group of friends) :)

Just Saiyan :pGaijin are very welcome, and often they will be quite happy to have one near them, expecially if able to speak japanese. Some will enjoy attempting to speak english (rare but happens) :)

If you're a group of friends studying in tokyo, or having a holiday, worth a shot ^^

Eh, I find people are much less likely to talk online than to someone they're sitting next to. Lord knows I wouldn't have any internet gaming friends at all if it weren't for guilds/clans/teams/etc. Not to mention it's infinitely easier to make actual friendships when you're meeting face to face. I've only made 4 or so friends in online games that I actually talked to outside that game and only one in which I would actually deign to meet face to face.

I still won't forget my first trip to a netcafe with my then girlfriend(now wife) and her friend. We rented a private stall just so they could print off something. The comfort was less than my own place but ok otherwise. When we were going to leave I caught them both pointing and asking me "what is he doing?". I turned, looked and saw a Japanese guy, in a wide open stall(no walls, everyone can see what you are doing, aka the cheapest) watching uncensored porn(already a no no in Japan) and furiously rubbing one out.

I turned back and just said "He's having some private time in public...." We then left. We didn't even report him. Ah Japan....

lolololoDo you find fun an article about poverty in japan and netcafe as a last alternative for some unlucky men? At least, noone in japan is a homeless asking money on the street like your idiot western counties.
Even the poorest has a minimal pride to try to find a job, take care of himself washing him on a shower, drinks, eat. Cheaper.
Also, the article is purely made by a poor typical western idiot. The reality is quite differnet. Not just you can sleep perfectly (noise disturbing others is prohibited, you cannot even use a phone , nor anything to wake you up in the morning disturbing others. You can report them, and in case , change seat), if your sweety ear needs a silent confortable bed, go rent a serious hotel paying 10 times more. Also every single netcafe is divided with smoking and no smoking. Try the no smoking, smells of flowers ;)
Typical western ignorance of how japanese works, and how perfectly clean a seat is everytime a customer leave. Seems nearly opened, not even a tiny piece of paper on the floor.

Also, this room linked on open page is a special room dedicated to pso2. You cannot smoke nor sleep inside it.

I'll need to drop by sometime :)...totally forgot this existed...how do I find it?You can send me a PM, i'll answer. Here would be spam ^^

If reported to the counter, the private-time-guy is instakicked out on the street. Also, if reported using uncensored porn, he willl have a fancy trip to the police station. ;-)
Next time , report them. ;-) You was able to peek because of the recent government ordinance, so noone do anything illegal inside. In the past, they was real private cubicle, everyone was able to do everything, illlegal too.:-x

On the pso2 room you just play pso2, not watching porn

Then, tell me on your junk pathetic western country how it ended up and where you sleep and drink and take a shower. lolol :-D:-D

Like the picture says, it's just outside the Takadababa station. Takadababa is just a few stops away from Shinjuku. Here's this particular store's site. (http://jiqoo.jp/tempo.php?tempoNUM=9931547)

Unfortuantely, it's not a netcafe designed for PSO2. It's four Alienwares on expensive chairs in a regular net cafe. Even though only PSO2 players will be using this room, you'll run in to all sorts of people there. It's a rather large place (http://tool.runsystem.co.jp/shoplist/sc/image/seat/9931547.gif) filled with booths designed to shut out other people so welcoming or accepting is not the right choice of words.

I guess if you were looking for an "experience," trying out something like this for an hour or two might not be terrible but in the end, it's spending money on something you can do at home for free or at a better value. Cafe Points aren't worth it and you can buy premium for a month for nearly the same price you can rent out these for three hours.

Menasthos
Feb 22, 2013, 01:04 AM
Well it's not an "entire netcafe dedicated to PSO2". For sure , the only one with an entire pso2 room dedicated just to it with special seats and a particular design. Clearly, going to take a drink outside of the room you can meet players interested on mangas or an other game. But inside the "temple" everyone talks about this game :) A particular PSO2 experience, that's the spirit :)

Worth when you don't want or can't use premium at home paying, because of your age or any interest to transfer money around. Not just it's a premium status (for 99% of the functions) but also, gives netcafe points.
If you're having just a short holiday but collecting netcafepoints , don't forget: they will be kept on your account. You can use them outside the internet cafe at home , when needed :)

But enough with being off topic and back to questioning the value of worthless points and gimics that are designed to get you to spend money for an experience that delivers very little.

Not play the game for free and where. ;-)
(Also, premium access not being premium while at the netcafe plus netcafe points).
Friends, enjoyment, yell at them next to you, not on a mic on an external chat program, you know..

I was talking of the "network" of netcafes available in Japan and the kind of netcafe services, all connected. Or go to play a 100 yen videogame on a random store walking around Tokyo, playing with someone real, maybe from an other videogame on the other side of the city or an other city in Japan. (It's a countryside network, you know?) Reason because westerners will just dream of netcafe points. ;)
Same happens for a lot of other jap mmos. Even tried?
This reality exists in Japan from years.
I'll add: dream of it outside japan, a temple dedicated to pso2, netcafe points, ubercool seats, the same kind of room i linked on page 1 on your fancy western netcafes lol :D
Worth a shot, if living in Tokyo or having a holiday. Some do it daily for the reason i wrote: the fun to play together. It's full 24/7, you have to book your seat if planning to play on this store.

Yeah, I...I don't think anyone really dreams of that here. If people did it would exist. What with the whole free market thing.

If people will pay money for it, someone will take their money to make it happen.

It's not happening because nobody really wants it.

I think it's a matter of techology, development, security, ip tracking, how internet is developed and linked in japan, contracts between mmo companies and netcafes (mostly). Something ye, noone care. The typical western mmo (an example: Guildwars 2) just cater on one thing: rip off your pocket with gemstore, who gives a damn of special netcafe extra services customer-oriented? Also, netcafes in japan are a cult. On western countries, just an alternative if and when.
