I could be wrong, but I don't believe they stack no :/

From what I can tell, they do, in fact, stack. They will NOT stack beyond level 10, however (so you can't have twice as many frames of invincibility).

Max it out on one class, or get it to 5 in one and 5 in the other. Should work fine.

If they stack like that wouldn't 5 and 5 be the best way to go since theres a curve in how much of a bonus you get? 5 points in both classes would give you .28 while 10 in 1 class only give .2

Then again if .2 bonus is the max you can get 3 in 1 class and 2-3 in the other would be your best bet if they actually do stack.

I did a test with you capped step advances. They didn't stack. Zyru up there says that it stacks up to .2 seconds though. So if you really want it capped, get to lv3 on both classes, which gives you .11 seconds each.

Or 3 on one and 2 on the other, which is .11 and .09.

We can spend half as many points for the same amount of reward? That's a pretty bad design for a skill.

But you have to have both classes active. If you switch subclasses then you lose half of your bonus.

Many skills give a large gain with the first SP, then very small gains until the later exp.

The most extreme example of this is chase bind, which gives a chance to bind with gains of, per level, 20 2 2 2 2 2 6 6 12 16.

I agree that it's a pretty bad system, but that's what it is.

I have step 3/10 on both hu and fi. 0.20s seems like a lot but really all it does is extend the invicibility at the end of your dash. I have 0/10 on ranger dive and dodging is still really easy.

You will want at least 0.14s or .20s if you main FI; you can pretty much dash into attacks and deadly archer.

I know I'm gravedigging, but I wanted to see if this is still applicable.

I don't think anyone can give 100% confirmation. I have tried different setups for this before and can tell you this much from experience:

10/0 and 3/2 both feel the same to me. You can kind of tell by spamming step in lava and seeing when ticks happen, where the difference between no-step and step-10 is a hugely noticeable difference, however the difference between step-10 and step-3/2 isn't very noticeable, or noticeable enough to give a final answer. For combat in general, neither setup felt more or less effective than the other.

So I honestly want to say they add up, to a max of .2, but I don't have any concrete proof to back that up.

I just throw a single point into Step Advance for all classes that have that skill & call it a day.

Step Advance does not stack between classes. Only the highest takes place. JP wikis confirm this.
