View Full Version : JP PSO2 Dengeki Festival 2013 - April Update VocaloidxPSO2-

Mar 17, 2013, 04:32 AM
It first started with the new Chrome Dragon Emergency Quest, while wearing the new outfits for 03/27~ Which should be the same as the story mission.
Then they introduce the new Hotspring Team room feature.
It has two dressing room, one for male, one for female. and both are locked to the other gender, so male can't walk into female...(You don't have to use it to change)
And the other feature is the water slide, which is like the stairs in the Ark lobby.
And the ability to be buried in sands, even in Rappy suit
[SPOILER-BOX]http://www.pso2-uploader.info/uploda/src/up43361.jpg
[/SPOILER-BOX]

And they showed some stuff from the new guide book, but it's not done yet.
And a preview for the April avatar item and theme...
Hatsune Miku stuff will be out in April~ Took them long enough~~

Kaito should get a long scarf accessory that people want for a while, HENSHIN HERO~~

I never understood all the hate I've been seeing for vocaloid. I'm no fan either but it's a series of popular voice synthesizers with animu mascots. It seems like a silly thing to waste energy hating.

I haven't either until recently it seems like a few people have some sort of strong negative reaction to green twintails. I'm more interested in the music people use them for than the mascots though so to be honest the Miku stuff doesn't excite me.

Basically anytime cross-overs with Miku get mentioned (Like when the music game got released. The one with the PSO2 stage and costume?) Spiteful feelings bubble up. I'm like...meh. People want long twin tails and the outfit isn't actually all that bad.

But dammit, I want new cast parts. No, CV parts and all race outfits don't count!

Well, it's just that these VOCALOID 'fans' go to concerts to watch a computer program preform. I mean, the hologram technology is cool as hell, but these people are there losing their shit over a machine. A machine. Why don't they have the woman that did Miku's voice get on and perform?

I think that's a large issues with culture today. No one 'needs' to be a good singer anymore; there's programs that fix your voice. No one 'needs' to know how play an instrument well anymore; there's programs that make music from scratch. Now, obviously I enjoy techno/electronica/etc., but it seems that it's spilling over to other forms of music a little too much, and people with actual musical talents are very slowly fading out in some ways, and I think VOCALOID directly contributes to that.

But that's just what I think. I don't like it.

But that's just what I think. I don't like it.Synthesizing music takes about as much talent as writing music for anything else. Just like writing lyrics takes as much effort as writing poetry. Regardless of whether or not the person can play an instrument or sing there's still a talent behind writing music and you shouldn't devalue that just because they use a different medium than is traditional to express it.

That's actually one of the reasons I like Hatsune Miku. A lot of the fans who want to write music but can't sing, or don't know anyone who can, will make songs for her, which in turn get sung by people who can and want to sing.

I don't think you should hate something just because you don't like the fans though. All fandoms have bad parts. That should be painfully obvious, and disliking something for that fact alone really limits what you can like. I agree that there are plenty of people who take the fandom too far, but look at the PSO2 fandom and tell me we're any better.

You have to remember that VOCALOID songs are not just about someone putting lyrics into the computer and a song magically coming out. Getting the voice right is more work than simply singing yourself (imo), and even then the voice is not the only thing the creators do—they also come up with the lyrics, compose the music and frequently also do a music video, all from scratch. It's really not much different from a regular song. Same with concerts: While you don't have an actual person performing, you still have people working on the hologram. Attending a Miku concert is a unique experience just like attending a concert of a "normal" artist is.

I can understand it if people don't like VOCALOID/Miku, but you shouldn't dismiss the work put into the songs just because they don't have a real person singing them.

Hating on vocaloid is a terrible thing to do.

There are SO MANY GREAT ARTISTS who use vocaloid to write and produce music when they would otherwise not be able to find a vocalist on their own, and a lot of those tracks are extremely unique in their lyrical content.

Plus it is, in fact, possible to get her to sound like a human being with enough work.

If it's a fan-designed outfit, SEGA most likely do have to contact and get approval/license from the artists first. I imagine they already have the license to use it though, since the song appears in Project DIVA f/F and everyone got the outfit there (http://miku.sega.jp/info/0524). PSO2 can just reuse those models or something, and since we're getting the cherry blossom lobby for April, this seems kinda likely.

He's probabely basing it on the 4gamer ranking, which should be taken with a grain of salt, since last I checked, the PSO2 Vita ranking is low, but it only had 3 gamer review, 2 gave it a high score, 1 gave it a really low score, making the average skewed.

But by sega and mediacreate sale data.
The PSV's price drop and it being the "first" MMO hunting game on the handheld was a success for Sega, as the PSV version had over 90% sale through.

And the short info from Sega(I expect another event to commerate these)
03/10/2013 - Over 2.5 million account created
02/28/2013 is when the Vita version is released, within ten day, over 350k account is created
03/09-23:30- New highest concurrent player login at the same time. 93,141 people.
