Inviting NPCs to party?

Hello, i'm kinda having a problem with inviting NPCs to my party xD
I'm pretty new so i'm not sure what to do and i can't really understand Japanese either. I also tried googling but no luck.

I pretty much know where to invite NPCs but i'm getting this message everytime i try to invite an NPC:

Not sure what it really means. Help is pretty appreciated.
