I'm not sure on that one.
Purchasing stuff from player shops won't add them to the library, but obtaining them from npc shops such as pyroxene, where you exchange items, does.

I'm pretty sure it does. I have a few things in my visiphone library that I've never found but most certainly bought.

don't know if they changed it, but I tried trading very long ago and it was between inventories, what was traded showed up in my inventory.
