PSO2 LPers reporting!

Well this is a parallel thread to the livestreaming thread. But LPing and Livestreaming are two huge different things. Live streams focus in actual skill play and player showing themselves playing. LPers try to go back into an analisys and most of them try to give a possitive showing of the game with the purpose of promoting the game to be played more or supported in it's issues (the lack of localization is one of the reasons I want to promote this game more with my LP).

Let's see how many people we can get to LP PSO2. There are all sorts of LPers, the parodical ones, the educative ones, the promoting ones.

What kind of LPer are you or do you like the LPs as a watcher?

For now I'm going to leave mine and hope someone else respond if they ever started (doesn't matter if it's dead, there's always time to revive it!).

Goals of the LP:

- Help this game get more known by the people who isn't big fan of phantasy star but sure know there's no good free to play games out there!

- Promote the game possitively by showing contents that you can't have access without deep knowledge of the game and japanese culture.

- Instructive and guiding tutorial start up for beginners at the game then a full fledged walkthrought, always presenting tips, hints and strategies so they can orient themselves better in the game.

- To inspire wills of wanting this game coming locally so it can be actually played.


We need to let this game be more known to the masses on youtube who are not aware that this is around. I seen even obscure in america series like Gundam fanbase getting more attention from Bandai because of the LPers promoting their japanese titles to get released locally. After PSU's downfall the LPing of this games has always been poor, barely known and with a lot of unfinished LPs and not much possitive walkthroughts. If you are an LPer, join our movement around the LPing channels and let us get known, add us as subscribers, share our channels. That way more people gets attracted and the word get spreaded faster. Until finally SEGA will notice us making a big movement and finally think that this place is worth a try!

Actually that's what all streamers do. It might be easier if we get more LPers that play different classes, as I don't have time to juggle the 6 classes and get LP content immediately without getting boring fast, Grind must never be shown up in an LP to avoid losing viewers, but neither let a LP die is good either.

As for my class I'm RA/HU. There's ton of ranger streamers but very few LPers using that class. Also, aside of hunter and fighter it's also a nice class that always have tips for everything. So that keeps the purpose of my LP going on.

What we really need are active comedy british PSO2 LPers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n79Z2vLfVI&#t=31m45s)! Already seeing one is funny enough!

Those were videos to test out bandicam and show very very very basics to my friends to make them come play with me. For actual gameplay i used other people videos of course since i'm new to this.
I would love to do that kind of work, so much. But i need direction, i need to be told what to do and that's just not cool. If someone wants to help me get into this stuff, i'd be so grateful, really.

That would be pretty much only tutorials, system stuff (banking, team, shops, crafting) and gameplay i would love but i think that takes more organisation than the rest (a crafting tutorial is easier since it's not action base and you don't feel like every little bad move you make is ruining the video).

I'm getting a little off topic asking for help when you'r already asking for people to help but .. you get my point righ? I'd really love to do that for you, even if i'm just like in the background shadow, i'd be very proud to be apart of this.


Edit : It goes without saying that those videos are far from what im am capable to do. I learnt how to make this just right before doing it, used shitty sony vegas versions and didn't have a single clue about what to show that didn't require me to go on the field. I'm sure with some guidelines, imagination, and help, i can do awesome stuff. Okay i'm not sure but i feel like i can. And i have crasy free time.

Edit : Oh and i made it. They came. They watched me a little playing volcano and they watched this, and they came. So yeah, you should absolutly promote the game. People have no idea what this game is, even those who heard of it.

Edit : Watched you videos, this is pretty great. The tips in caption and everything. I didn't know what LP is, this is what I was dreaming of doing someday, no matter on wich game.

Well I was thinking. That what you have with the videos is that, you have to be very deep ingame to know what are you actually doing. Try to think what would be amazing to watch for a guy who NEVER PLAYED PSO2 in the first place. Think on something that by simply playing it, it will seem amazing to the eyes of the people, that's how most game broadcasting tends to increase it fanbase, even if its the "5 seconds of badass!"

I'm not asking people to be like me, what I'm doing is INSANE! Is like trying to show every corner of what this game has possitive without being misleading. I'm not asking people to pull that off, I'm asking that people can think what would be fun to broadcast and share between the youtube channels. Can be from very inspiring videos to even fanmade editings like how Crysteon loves to put music in all his videos from other videogames to find a fitting vibe to the stages.

Yup! This game is really obscure for the youtubers. As long as your content is enjoyable it doesnt matter if your coding or editing program is bad or really good. As long as the content is enjoyable to watch.

Well I try to make this game also friendly for people who start the game and I constantly notice people don't have the best perception out there or the wills to understand a foreign language. I can help leaving guides, hints, etc.
And LP means Let's Play for short. LPer is a person who makes gameplay videos in a playlist from start to end of the game. And number each fraction of 15-60 minutes as an episode. I'm using all I learnt by watching the good LPers while making my own. Sadly this also means that I spend half of my free time editing this videos or worrying that they look good enough so I don't have much time to grind or become the best like the rest of the players. But it's really fun to do and the most memorable people from PSU from my stay were actually LPers, not players.

Foreign LP is great! If there was any english LP I would had made this a Spanish LP instead.

Oh god MMO LPs...

I'm LPing PSO2 to instruct new people into getting in the game and learn things that are hard due to the language barrier. The LP is non-lucrative with the purpose of promoting the game for western audience after the sad news of the undetailed delay on the english version, it's common the reason is corporative, PSO has turned very obscure since SoA's problems with PSU. So I made this channel to increase the fanbase so we can finally get our localized version. If you know of any other PSO2 LPer let me know and it will be linked to my channel, help PSO2 become more known by the people so it can finally get released on the outer seas!

At the moment I will skip the parts that nothing happens in the game plot to keep the content fresh and not boring. So I will have to clear all my Forest COs before advancing to Amduscia to continue the LP. Online game LPs are no different from Single player RPGs, as long as it doesn't become repetitive to watch, viewers will still enjoy it. So It's more than just making a video and upload it, the LPer has to add some extra work to make the video more interesting.

Also PSO2 is not a MMO! It's a Multiplayer Online RPG. It has more single player content than actual MMOs and is not totally MMO oriented.

Well I'm strictly against using mods mostly because it bring game glitches everytime the game gets updated (i.e. clothes are glitching out with the physics when I have the english story mod). But the story one will save me the effort of having to translate and add in anotation every single line of conversation in the game cutscenes. So It's pretty convenient to just leave that.

Also I don't know if you can mod the Vita, so I prefer to keep all the text as the original and leave hints to indicate what many of the stuff means.

I'm currently experiencing technical difficulties during my Ep 21-24 session with a codec update on windows which AIDA is helping me out so the video quality goes back to be decent or even a little bit better.

I don't think that the people who are playing RA/HUs or other class combos are losing their time. It's interesting seeing LPers who plays other class combos, no only those ones...

Greetings, yes, I have to admit that class combos like the FI subclass and the RA/HU don't tend to give an impressive LV30 early performance as those other 3. But they are still strong enough to advance in the game using a strategy different than what everyone else use.

As for what showed in the LP, RA/HU may not have an OVERKILL DPS but it does have ENOUGH DPS to do it as fast as the other classes i.e. HU/FI. And still have big spikes on boss fights, not as big as GU/RA, but in exchange of better crowd control and overall performance than the GU/RA instead of only being good at boss fight and decent at the other stuff. This will trade off better at later levels that modifiers get really strong combined, I mean RA/HU probably has the strongest modifiers (As LV30 range you only have 1-2% damage modifier in each LV up instead of the Fighter like 5% modifiers, but every point spent boost the modifier and dont drop at some point or in distributing in other alternative abilities that doesn't stack, so LV60 should have the strongest modifiers) and the ability to also give a good melee performance (Partizan for crowd control, WB + Over End/Holding current at some boss fights).
And besides I can show both melee and range in the LP!
