I know there's guides out there for specifics and such, but let's toss that out the window - I'm not trying to min-max here, or make the most of my points for a specific playstyle. What, in general, would be a good thing to focus on stat-wise if I plan on doing a bit of everything at different points? I'm thinking raising the basic three defensive stats would be a good thing, but not totally negating the rest of the mag's offensive stats.

Would it be a safe bet to try to make as "balanced" a mag as possible between defense and offense, with maybe a bit of a higher stat allotment to whatever that guy will generally be doing more of - say, striking power if they're a melee guy, or Dexterity for a ranged guy?

I just really don't want to screw myself over with my one single mag I have per character, and there's a lot of guides with a lot of mixed information out there.

Thanks in advance.

50 in each offense stat if you want a balanced mag. You also want to use a human character as they aren't specialists. I can't guarantee that you will be able to equip everything with a three way 50 split though. We're also getting Dhumans and Vanguards soon too, so if you want to be a jack-of-all-trades that can do anything vanguard is your best bet.

The safest thing is to buy more mags. You're gimping yourself if you don't have a mag with at least 100+ of your main stat in each role.

If you don't care about mix-maxing the question seems pointless. You either don't and just feed the mag whatever you want or you do and you'd rather do it right.

Alright, thanks for the heads-up. I have a few humans, a few newmans, and a cast. I'll probably make their "primary" stat a bit higher then, since I do plan on having Character A be a melee guy, Character B be primarily a ranger, etc. The only tough one would probably be the one newman I plan on making into either a gunner or a fighter, since weapons in both categories were what she used in PSU as a fighgunner.

Any idea how much a new mag costs in yen / AC / webmoney / whatever else it is? I'm kinda hesitant to spend a lot on the game since I don't want to get randomly banned for some stupid reason and lose a lot of money dropped into this game, you know.

Mags are purchased from the AC shop for 300 AC = 300 YEN = 300 Webmoney.

You can only purchase AC in 1000 quantities, which is ~$16 USD if you purchase webmoney from an online reseller. 1000 AC will get you a mag and 20 inventory spaces, or two mags and 400 leftover AC.

Ok, thanks for the heads-up for that. I saw similar prices online from one website and that doesn't seem too bad, but I might just make stat-focused mags to cut down on how many I'd have to buy.

Honestly the only reason why you would need more than one mag is if you plan on having a single account with very different classes on it, for example if you have a human that usually is Hu/Fi, but sometimes switches to Fo/Fi and Ra/Hu, separate (or all around) mags would be helpful.

However if you have multiple accounts/characters with one character specializing in Melee, on in Ranged... ect it would be best to make a pure S-att mag on melee, pure R-att mag on ranged ect

The way I see it
100-120 in your primary attack stat
10-20 dex depending on class (rangers need less, forces need more)
rest in primary def for armor requirements if you wish

Numbers are subject to change tonight with the new mag cap coming, though.
