So I have windows 8, my steam set to run PSO2 directly (no launcher) and have both set to admin. When I start up PSO2 with steam, it will detect that I am in PSO2 (name in green and reading that I am currently playing it on friends list) but for some reason the overlay is NOT working. Anyone got any ideas or clues about this?

Edit: I have also tried file check, reinstalling steam, reinstalling PSO2, and steam overlay DOES work in every other game I play.

He meant as Add as Non-steam game shortcut

OP: It's works for some people, it doesn't work for others
It never worked for me so I just gave up from using steam to launch PSO2.

You can add non-steam games to steam, allowing the overlay to work.

The problem is Gameguard blocks the overlay....sometimes
Once it does, it takes a hell of awhile for it to fix

All I know is if the overlay doesn't work for me, a quick restart of Steam almost always fixes it.
Might have something to do with administrator rights.

Then again I'm using windows 7, not 8.

A few things can fix it:

1)Turning steam off and turning it back on again.
2)"X:\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\pso2_bin\pso2launcher. exe" -pso2
at the shortcut in your library
3)Use virtual full screen

Yeah, I always run Steam with admin rights and The overlay always show up. Although, I never found out how to have Steam auto run with admin rights when I turn on my comp.
