With the help of Rock Eastwood, his judges and Phashion group members we got the top 5.
These 5 did a great job on creating a Picture Perfect (Screen)Shot. We got 27 Entries and all will be shown once the poll is closed.

Ilain's shot was pretty dark, but that's the point lol. the glow on her armor was nice and I really like the glow coming from her eyes.

Victasticvin's shot was ok. but I feel like I've seen that kind of picture over 100 times.

I feel the same about XPKun's shot too. the two cast with the city BG gives off a nice futuristic city vibe tho.

Huh? I actually got in to the top five? This is the first time this has happened. Well, throw your pictures in enough events, and I suppose something like that is bound to happen. Still, this is pretty shocking. And to be in second place? I know that's highly subjective to change, but it's still quite an honor.
I'm ashamed to say that I voted for myself. But, what can I say? I honestly like my picture most.

I think it's neat that one of our top five includes a picture with less than stellar graphics. I always hear complaints that these events are bias against people with old computers. This kind of shows that that's not necessarily the case.

I say this every event I enter. If you enter expecting to win, you're going to lose. The point of these events is to further enjoy the game. Use that as your motivation, and your material will end up better.

The judges just choose which entries they think is the best.. so obviously it's the community that picks whose the best. If people only glance at the entries and just pick the shiniest one at first sight. Or one of the contestants has a lot of friends...

Honestly, even with the rules and intentions of having lower end PC's making it to the finals, people do make it clear that they focus on the detail and graphical quality rather than the content, or in this case the picture.

I don't force myself to be positive about anything, and 1 vote is at least 1 vote more than people that didn't even get into the poll. The judges did decide on it and took her for a good entry and being part of a contest is already an accomplishment in my eyes. Right now you are trying to much see the negative about things, but if you be realistic you would see that she at least had a chance compared to others.

And about her not getting so many votes, it’s a public poll so you can go ahead and give the one who you think did a great work your voice. Or you can give it your friend, which is technically not really the purpose of the poll. I can't control who gets how much votes and I won't say that anyone asked their friends to do so, it just happens that one pictures is just that much better.


I made this contest together with Rock as a community contest, where the community participates for fun and then the community can decide on who they think did best. Sure people will be competitive and some try to be negative, but this is meant to be fun and to be for the community and people should enjoy it more.


If you think there is a fairer way to handle everything you can always tell me in a PM how you think it should be handled, I'm happy to hear some constructive critic and getting new ideas.

You made this thread titled PERFECT SHOT nothing more nothing less even including vita pics to be fair which was nice smooth move on your part. She even made it in which is good sense this is a proven fact that the judges are not bias and picky as some say, im also including she was the only one to actually put in a Vita pic everyone else's were...yeah you get the point. I am not being negative at all. but rather pointing out how things are truly decided and how it ran its course as I already explained. You just as well as I do how these turn out, but you don't wanna acknowledge that and hide it behind passive comment.

You made it for fun, but once you throw AC in there it's not really about fun anymore in a sense. I have seen the contest Vin entered and with her vita pics and she didn't win in any of those either. What im saying is while it may be fun for you, the fun for them is when they have gotten what they truly wanted, people didn't put these pics in here to have fun they did it for the AC there is no arguing that, as that was the true purpose of this thread. You can have fun all ya want.but in a true sense it is not fun losing out on something that could really help you and when you repeatedly lose you lose motivation and you lose faith. There is a reason why there weren't to many participants you know as well as I do as to why.

That's the problem sending pm's in order to get things fixed and mellowed out everything has to be done in secret we can't openly discuss things in order to get down to an agreement in order to improve things. That’s not entirely true, it's like saying people don't play online games for fun because there is competition to be better than someone else. Some have fun with it and others don't. It's the same for a contest.

As you said yourself, it's harder to keep track of things that way but if it would be the only thing that makes people happy I guess I could do it. As I offered already there is also the possibility of multiple votes where you can give each person 1 point.

I don't think these are horrible ideas...

But how far are they from picking your top few, or having the option of giving out pity votes... which wouldn't drastically change winners, it would just make numbers for the common favorites bigger. >_>;

At the end of the day, it's up to you on who deserves a vote, or who needs one, or whose just voting for a friend.

Ironically I chose a top 5... decress the possibility of the scenario being.

"Alright we have a top 10... but what's the point of it being a top 10 if only 4 people are getting votes, so it's actually just really awkward for the other half of people who aren't getting votes at all"

Also because we didn't get a lot of entries AT ALL. So if you aren't impressed I hope that doesn't imply you could do better if you didn't enter. Just in case anyone thinks like that.

But otherwise... I don't think... multiple votes could hurt either. But there's no perfect way to go about things. Even if you took out voting all together and made it all the judges votes. You risk the community not being happy. But if you let the community vote, there's a higher chance of bias or thoughtless votes...

Basically you're all terrible people no matter what happens, and all we can do is hope the people that DID win deserved the prizes. : D

D: Keep things the same as they always been! Its for the sake of honor and honesty! Plus its always fun to torment people with having to choose JUST ONE picture only. Huh they're making me feel bad o_O Im too excited knowing I made it to the finals to be feeling insulted or upset with my picture's performance and no worries I'm sure they had noticed I only got one vote and were concerned of having sympathy for me which is cool and all.

X_X This was taken on a pc playing pso on 1 with no shaders and Vita's graphics aren't that bad also I'm working on a movement for Vita and low resolution pc players to post their screenies with pride and not feel undersized by those with killer graphics <3

Nobody stops you from puttign it here, but this is a contest htread for this contest so I jsut don't think its teh right place. I could create a new thread where everybody can post their ideas openly so everyone can see and we get community feedback. How about that, good enough?

That’s not entirely true, it's like saying people don't play online games for fun because there is competition to be better than someone else. Some have fun with it and others don't. It's the same for a contest.

So would you prefer me doing contests where you actually can't win anything?

Why do you think I said "In a sense". Also this is not an online game this is an online community what we do and type here hold more weight than a game where we have no access to other than what? Game Feedback ...as in survey. Comparing it to an online game is bad comparison as an online you know what to expect and if it's online pvp you don't win Paid money currency such as AC which isn't free in PSO2 you would pvp points exp in game money being the currency to buy better pvp armor or whatnot. My claim still stands on that no way is it the same as a contest. Also when did I ever say Prefer? I only outlined on how it went its course. You can do how ever contest ya wan't but if it's not gonna give the new comers or old player a chance because ermahgawd Favoritism, Spread the Word, Graphics or w/e the case may be then just leads to disappointment as others mention a few pages back.




As you said yourself, it's harder to keep track of things that way but if it would be the only thing that makes people happy I guess I could do it. As I offered already there is also the possibility of multiple votes where you can give each person 1 point.

Guess we will see how that runs it's course to.
