The PSE Burst variant of the mines is my favorite. Just that beat dominating what you can hear, it's adrenaline-pumping.

I absolutely LOVE hanging around in the desert. I would stay in there forever if only Gunners and Rangers didn't have a hard time dealing damage to mech type enemies.

I absolutely love all the boss music in this game (well, with Vol Dragon's and Zesh's being the only two exceptions).
However, when it comes to the area music it's like the exact opposite. I don't like any of them except two maybe, which would be Ruins and Forest.
The calm versions generally kinda suck and are relatively generic and not really memorable.
Some of the battle versions like Ruins are really cool, though.

The music I hate the most would be Mines. You can't even call that music. It's driving me insane and it's the only track in this game that causes my laptop to have severe sound issues, lol

Seconding this, desert and mines are probably my favorite areas due to the combination of setting, fitting BGM, and not being a magic floating continent in the sky.

If calm mode I'd pick 2 BGMs though 1 in Naberius Forest OST and the Ruins OST:

Naberius Forest cause of the piano along the area and the feeling of breathing fresh air in the field (even though you can't while playing :-P :

For battle OST, I'd pick Falz Hunar due to the feeling that your life is in stake of danger, or gives you the tension and must think fast on what to do if you are about to die. (Or my OST whenever the teacher/instructor says "Ok students! 5 minutes left before the exam ends!")

Nothing wrong with good house music. Lol the bgm there sounds pretty cool actually. Might be my new favorite too.

For area tracks, my favorites definitely have to be Ruins Battle and Sanctum Battle. Uncoincidentally, they're both from the newest areas, and I suspect the Coast BGM will follow suit. I'm not a fan of caves, desert and mines are somehow grating on the ears, forest is OK, tundra is generic-sounding, floating continent has its ups and downs.

So far none of the area music has managed to top Revolution to the Origin part 2 for me, which is a damn shame. But then again, that's an extremely high bar to reach, so I don't really hold it against them.

As for boss tracks (since everyone else is mentioning them), I like all of them except for Zeshrayda's track, and even then I don't hate his track. The boss tracks are the one time the composer gets to just cut loose and make something really heavily authored.

The greatest song ever to appear in this game was the Valentine's Day Emergency Quest. The Burning Rangers EQ music is pretty great, too.

On a more serious note, though, I like the tundra battle music, a lot of the mines music, Vol's theme... but I hate the floating continent music. Every time I go to floating continent I have to turn the music off. It drives me crazy.

I like the forest calm music, but the forest battle music is too... all over the place. I can see what they were trying to do with it, but it just doesn't quite work.

By contrast, I do like the Sanctum music. It's hard to pin down why. It's weird, not something I'd usually like, but it works very well for the zone.

And for some reason I just really like the quest clear music.
