How to disable NPC mag abilities?

Hi! I am wondering if there is a way to disable NPC mag abilities. Everytime they do an ability it is more of a liability because it freezes the screen and greatly reduces the framerate for a few seconds. Also the player is never in the PP regen field when it happens and summoned mag creatures hardly do any damage so is more of a liability. Sometimes is best going solo considering how rare they weak bullet.

In the quick menu (middle mouse button), there's an option called "Command Partner Strategy". Switch it to PB Chain and partners won't use their PB unless you trigger yours first, in attempt to chain it.

Quick Menu (middle mouse button or select in a controller), 8th option (Command Partner Strategy), 2nd option (PB Chain).
This will make your NPCs only use photon blasts when you use yours.
