If you're asking me personally, yes, I do want short hair so I 'look like a dude'. I like short hair better anyway, on anyone, regardless of gender. It's easier to manage too, and doesn't get in the way (that's why Roman men started cutting their hair short in the first place, to have that advantage over their opponents in combat)

I think having hyper-long hair is just being detrimental to yourself. Longest I could rationally see someone going is maybe a little down past their ears. Anything else is excessive.
