Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has an Asus X401a for playing PSO2. I'm thinking of buying one but I'm not sure. I watched a video of someone playing it on the X401 and I wanted to know if it would work on Windows 8. Does anyone have any suggestions? :-?
Here's the link to the video:

A friend of mine who was unfortunate enough to be stuck with Windows 8 got it to work. As for the laptop: if an Asus X44H is anything like an X401, you should have no problem.

You shouldn't have any issues. I play on a two year old dell with a cooling pad under it with no problems.

From a google search for the minimum requirement:

Windows OS:
- XP SP3 (32-bit versions only)
- Vista (all versions)
- 7 (all versions)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 (equivalent or better)
RAM:
- 1.5GB (XP)
- 2GB (Vista/7)
GPU: 256MB Nvidia GeForce 7800GT or AMD Radeon 2900XT (equivalent or better)

It doesn't take much to run this so even old systems can handle it if it has decent hardware and you can also lower the graphics also. IIRC, someone tried it on a netbook on the lowest setting possible and was able to play the game.

The "Can You Run It" site says I shouldn't be able to run this game, yet it plays just fine with mid-level graphical settings.

if you are fine with playing on the lowest graphic settings (i.e. without shaders) then yes, that asus will do

here are some random pics without shaders and no, you can't make it look better

It seems OK. I guess it will have to do.

You shouldn't have issues playing it with Windows 8. Just don't make the mistake of upgrading to Windows 8.1 because it isn't gameguard friendly.
