(If this was posted somewhere else, I'm very sorry, I didn't see. I was really surprised to not see this posted somewhere. Also sorry if we weren't supposed to post this cause of that datamining thing..?)

New emergency trials:
[spoiler-box]
New emergency trials: Lead the lost Naura sister to her cargo (迷子のナウラをカーゴに護送せよ), Shell Flower Mop-Up (砲仙花掃討作戦), Intercept the Gel Wulffs! (ゲル・ブルフを迎撃せよ!; this is the "use the turrets to destroy them" one they were talking about), Protect the Lillipan Encampment! (リリーパ族の集落を防衛せよ!), Traverse the Junk Spot (ジャンクスポット巡り; this is another lillipan escort), Destroy the Hijacked Gunship (乗っ取られた戦闘機を破壊せよ; this one seems focused on the gunship, not a control tower), Defuse the Time Bomb (時限爆弾を解除せよー), Fisherman's Close Call (うみんちゅ危機一髪!).[/spoiler-box]

Io has a partner card. Friendship rewards are Sharp Bomber, Penetrate Arrow, Torrential Arrow, Gravity Point, Kamikaze Arrow (haven't seen this one mentioned anywhere), and Master Shoot (patch is probably going with "Shot" here so that it sounds even remotely like a name that someone would use).

Episode 2:
Chapter 2 is titled Settling Past Debts (過去の清算). Subplots are "Clearance Of The Past" and "Caliculation Of The Future" (not my typo).
An unknown chapter is titled Hitherto, Henceforth (いままでと、これから). No further information.

Braver skills:
[spoiler-box]
New skills:
Braver (internal names only, no stats yet), organized by family:

New skills for all other classes:
[spoiler-box]
Hunter: Sacrifice, MassiveHunter, S-ATK Up 3
Fighter: Adrenalin(e), CrazyHeart, CrazyBeat
Ranger: TacticsTrap (note: I think this gives you a chance to not use up a trap when you set it, if the weapon potentials are any indication), PowerBullet, BulletPPSave
Gunner: SRollUP, ShowTimeStar, SRollArts, SRollCombo
Force: FreezeKeep, PhotonFlareTactics, FreezeIgnitionUP
Techer: MainWand, PowerWand, TecherAtpStrikeUp (S-ATK Up?)[/spoiler-box]

Oceanids (seabed): AbyssChameleon, AbyssChameleonRare, AbyssDog, AbyssTetra (note: reskins!), AbyssPenguin, AbyssGidora (may or may not be named after the Godzilla monster; do note that Onmagoug in PSU was internally named Gyaos, after the villainous creatures from the Gamera movies), AbyssCrab.
Machines: BossMechaRepair(?--BossMecha is Big Vardha), MachineLittleBoss, MachineLittleBossRare, MachineWolf, MachineWolfBoost, MachineWolfShot, MechaMineCustom, MachineKick/MachineKickShot/MachineKickNear(?--these may be Gilnas parts), MachineCCanon, MachineCShield, MachineCCanonRare, MachineCShieldRare.[/spoiler-box]

Zomg, they're actually trying to make Ice tree for Force more worth it? And here I thought I was going to be the only one with Photon Flare forever.

Edit: New info, what some skills do:
[spoiler-box]
Of note:
DebandProtection gives Iron Will to deband.
OneMoreChain appears to guarantee that a chain will start a new chain.
ChainFinishStar appears to regenerate your HP/PP during a chain end (!).
MassiveHunter and Sacrifice are still inexplicable (only stats are recast and range, joy).
CrazyHeart regens PP (recall, Heart was a TP steal special in PSO).
PrettyGood is the best skill name in the game.
Several skills seem to cap out at 5 (they stop gaining stats).[/spoiler-box]

I would appreciate information like this to be put in a spoilerbox, i am one of few people that don't want to know anything about Braver skills just yet.

I managed to skip over it this time cause I saw Braver in 1 of the skills and instantly hit reply, but ya, it would be appreciated.

Dewmans look very promising now. They seem very tempting to play all classes on looking at those stats, especially since they have no "problems" in defenses now, just no specific bonus. Casts/Caseals aren't the best in either attack stat anymore, and their T-Atk lies bang in the middle.

><

I kinda wanna play allclasses on a male dewman now, just because I hate all this multi-char stuff sometimes.

One Moar Chain seems incredible, as does Chain Finish Star. But now I'm even more worried about how to spread that already thin SP. Is it too much to hope that they'll rearrange the trees a little to prune some or the bloat and make Ranger less idiotproof?

DebandProtection gives Iron Will to deband.

On one hand, oh my god yes. Now I don't have to get Iron Will on my Hunter. lol
On the other hand, it kind of clashes with Deband Cut if it also has 10 levels...

One More Chain I've wanted since the beginning, yay SEGA.

Anyone else think the 5 sp thing is the most noteworthy tidbit? Because if they go back and apply that to some old skills that don't warrant the full 10 sp for what they offer, but also shouldn't be any better because that would begin to get OP, then they might be approaching tree balance. I mean, extend assist for 10 sp? Deband cut for 10 sp? Territory burst and PP Up 1 & 2 for 10 sp? All the status effect skills for 10 sp? Come on.

Hopefully it's not only for new skills.

Did some more viewing of files. This is my 'guesses' on where the new skills will be placed, half guess, half know - I can't read the files in full. Spoilered just in case. (Doesn't contain Braver btw.)

[spoiler-box]Hunter:
Sacrifice is located to the right of Halfline Automate. Pre-req can be either Guard Stance Up 1 or HP Up 2.
Massive Hunter is located to the right of Flash Tech Guard, pre-req is either Flash Guard 1 or Sacrifice (since that would be above it).
S-ATK Up 3 is located to the right of Flash Guard 2, or underneath either Guard Stance Burn or Flash Guard 2. Pre-req could be either Massive Hunter, Flash Tech Guard, Guard Stance Burn or Flash Guard 2.
I'm assuming they're stretching out the Guard Stance Up line with all these new skills.

Fighter:
Adrenaline is located to the left of Brave Stance, pre-req is SATK Up 1 (or no pre-req, but that would be really odd, since it's not on the primary line while there is space for it there anyway).
Crazy Heart and Crazy Beat are found on the bottomright of the skilltree, to the right of PP Slayer, or on the next line. Pre-reqs could be either Halfline or Deadline Slayer or even PP Slayer. Heart could be the Pre-req for Beat.

Ranger:
TacticsTrap is most likely located underneath Upper Trap Custom. At the very least its on the same line as Poison Trap Custom and located on one of the 3 slots to the left of it (hence under Upper Trap Custom makes most sense).
PowerBullet is located on the same line as Mirage Shot, but to the left of it, most likely the pre-req is also R-ATK Up 2.
Bullet PP Save is located on a new line, most likely underneath Power Bullet (with that as the pre-req then).

Gunner:
I have to say I'm not really sure about this... lol.
SRollUP is located to the right of RDEF Up 2. Possible pre-reqs are Dex Up 2, or Just Reversal. The other option would be that it's an origin point and has no pre-req at all.
ShowTime Star is on a new line, and obviously has ShowTime as a pre-req.
SRollArts and SRollCombo are on this line as well, probably located to the far right. It could also be possible that SRollCombo is on another line beneath SRollArts. Either way, the pre-req line could be SRollUp for both, or SRollUp for Arts and Arts for Combo.

Force:
FreezeKeep, PhotonFlareTactics and FreezeIgnitionUp are all located on lines below Ice Mastery 2. I'm assuming though that FreezeKeep has Ice Mastery 2 as a pre-req, PhotonFlareTactics has PhotonFlareAfterburst as a pre-req and FreezeIgnitionUp has FreezeKeep as a pre-req.

Techer:
MainWand is located under Wind Mastery 2. Either it has Wind Mastery 2 or it has TATK Up 2 as its pre-req.
PowerWand and SATK Up are located on new lines. If I'd have to guess, I'd place both of them in that same area as MainWand.[/spoiler-box]

This seems to be all the new skills that EP2 is going to launch with.

Jul 6, 2013, 11:29 AM
Because 1% doesn't matter, but 15% does and casts can't equip shit all for force stuff without massively gimping their tree and stats in the process.

Compare the cast weaknesses...
Female Newman tatk: 110
Cast & Caseal tatk: 96
Female Newman tdef: 105
Cast & caseal tdef: 95 (wasn't this even lower before? I swear this used to be 80)
tatk difference of 14, tdef difference of 10

Compare to the cast's strengths...
Female Newman satk: 100
Cast satk: 105
Caseal satk: 104
Female Newman sdef: 100
Cast sdef: 105
Caseal sdef: 100
Female Newman dex: 104
Cast & Caseal dex: 107
Female Newman HP: 96
Cast HP: 107
sdef difference of 5, sdef difference of 5, dex difference of 3, hp difference of 11

Female Newmans can do most things pretty well. Casts? They have to sacrifice tatk and multiplier skills just to get the bare minimum stats to equip things. This is where stat variances actually matter. Why the F should newearls have a 24 total point advantage in tech compared to the cast's whopping 10 total point advantage in striking? Nothing requires HP to equip, and that difference in HP when capped on a 60/60 fi/hu is an underwhelming 77 points. Yeah, sure, I've survived with less than 77 points of hp left. I've also been killed with hundreds of damage overkill way way way more often than I've limped away with <77 hp.

You know what gets me more than 77 points of hp, though? Snow banther units, which a male cast cannot even equip with base stats on a 60/60 fo/te. You need to pull 5 points out of either your skilltree or mag, and this is for armor that is by now rather outdated and was way more out of reach when it was new and the cap was lower. God help you if you want to use new units.

That said, if you like the look of casts (hi) the stats end up being negligible for anything but force. Even maining techer resolves that, if you can find a good allclass rod.

edit:
Casts are sexiest race in game, and that's what matters.

In the end, this is truth.

Besides, the T-Def you need for PP Convert pushes you over 489 anyway.

That's if you get PP Convert, and that's if you're subbing techer, and all of this is after the cap was raised. Back at 55/55 casts had 462 base tdef. The points required to equip snowban units back then would not mysteriously convert back into tatk when you no longer needed them, meaning stats you invest into for units back then would directly penalize you now. The difference in tdef you need will only widen as the cap increases too, so you better not max your mag's level unless you want to lock yourself out of future units. And then if you wanted to be able to equip falz units some of the time in addition to snowban units other times, like many forces did for a while? Lol.

This is compared to just naturally having higher tdef and tatk, which allows you to equip pretty much all the standard stuff as you go your merry way.

Casts base T-DEF was 95 even back in the closed beta.

Hm, I could be thinking of something else then. I was pretty sure I saw stat tables showing cast tdef at 80, but that seems like too wide of a gap.

5% extra stats means that for every 20 minutes it takes to kill a single boss, it takes 1 minute less than a class without that 5% bonus. Big whoop. And that assumes that 5% higher stats translates directly to 5% higher damage.

A small theory, we keep seeing references to things related to Big Vardha. Sega said they want to add a 12 person EQ like Dark Falz, but we already have the Big Vardha one. The only difference being that the Big Vardha EQ is stupidly easy with 12 people, so what if they're making a new version of Vardha to use for the EQ?
The BossMechaRepair enemy might be like a Kindid that runs around Vardha and fixes broken weapons.

gigawuts

It's not quite that cut and dry. Breaking a part 5% faster may interrupt an attack and possibly even keeping it stumbled as you break parts consecutively. There's also early equipping and of course allowing people with bad mags or base stats to equip things, as with cast tdef/tatk.

Problem with Dewman is that it hardly has any disadvantages. There's the low HP, but "100%" def isn't really a disadvantage anymore. Casts had the highest s/r-atk combined alongside highest HP and highest DEX, but they suffered at Force, which made sense (sorta)

This doesn't happen with Dewman at all.

This is especially important if playing all classes on a Cast. Dewman can play all classes better than a cast (and both humans, but hee-ho).

I like my stats, but not 'coz I'm a tryhard elitist who likes to show off, but I just like my stats. Numberrrrrrrrrrssssssssssssssssssssssss. >:O

Well 100% stats is actually a detriment for Braver. BRdewman only has 388 in each defense stat at lv60 (if the current stat table is correct), so even subbing a class with 440 in the desired stat, they still can't equip any of the 489 10* sets. Every other race can equip at least one without a specialized tree or mag.

It's not quite that cut and dry. Breaking a part 5% faster may interrupt an attack and possibly even keeping it stumbled as you break parts consecutively. There's also early equipping and of course allowing people with bad mags or base stats to equip things, as with cast tdef/tatk.

I find that in every game with races, people will find a difference between them to complain about, even if the difference is tiny or even cosmetic.

Can that 5% make a difference? Yes, it can, but in all cases where that is true, the difference is either small, or improbable. Shifta can make as much or even more of a difference, but I don't see everyone rushing to cap Shifta Advance, Shifta Critical, and Extend Assist.

Are we talking 5% damage, or 5% stats? Because that's a big difference in this game. Stats only have a marginal direct impact on damage, but I've already detailed how significant a seemingly small base stat bonus or penalty can be when the high is compared to the low, due to gear.

I fail to see how being able to equip higher tier weapons slightly earlier than other races makes a big difference in a non-competitive game where you have complete freedom in where you level up.
I mean really. Which of these scenarios is more likely?
"Oh, I need 2 more T-atk to equip this rod. I should go spend a couple hours doing client orders so I can hit level 47 and equip it!"

Maxed Shifta Advance isn't even 5% of your stats, and it gives Casts less T-Atk since their base is lower. By 14%.

You can "do the smart thing" and settle for weaker armor or spend skill points that other races don't have to, but it's the difference between not being able to equip the standard 10* units versus easily equipping 11* sets. Or at lv70 the min/max races exceed 600 Def naturally, but being the wrong race gets you only 576 or 557 (Cast T-Def). That's ten full levels worth of stats!

yes, now that level caps are higher, differences in races are starting to become quite apparent+^_^+ remember when HU's Fury stance got nerfed because of RA? they did that not for the lvl 50s hitting more, they wanted to balance out the level 90s+^_^+ still, aside from some cameo weps or armor, CAST techers are still as effective as any Newman techer (it comes down to how you play the class, not so much your gear)+^_^+ without pvp truly forcing min/max stat builds non of this matters as more patient players will always eventually be able to equip anything+^_^+

The game is competitive because you make it.

If you're so focused on efficiency, you should be capping everything anyways. Ultimately being slightly weaker in one class is made up for for being slightly stronger in another. And ultimately, one class is better than another in a situation.

If you want to be a meleer, that's all fine, but I'm sure being Force would make that Dragon Ex die much easier, even if you're 5% weaker than another race.

2? When were snow banther 10* units new, at level 55 or 50? I don't even remember. Let's run with 55.

A cast fo/te had 462 tdef. So that's 27 points you need to pull from your mag and/or tree, directly off of damage. Earlier in the game, when those 5* units that ragne dropped with ragne soul were all the rage, a male cast needed 39 tdef to equip them. How do I know this? My mag still has that 39 tdef.

So I still have 39 tdef. I also have 20 or so dex, for when I was trying out something or other that needed dex. They also have 2 points in sdef, from when a te/fo cast was a mere 2 sdef away from equipping ragne units. That's 61 points taken directly off of tatk. The already heavily reduced, 14% lower tatk.

That reduces my equipment options considerably.

If we were talking just 5% at the very worst, okay sure. We're not, though.

You don't have a point, because while you moved on to trying to prove how that 5% makes a difference in a competitive game, I've yet to be convinced that this is a competitive game.

Unless Sega makes S rank completion in missions legitimately difficult to attain, and provides with unique completion rewards, I doubt I'll see it as one.

Maybe a female newman does get to level 60 Force/Techer somewhat faster than a male cast can, because they can equip higher-tier things before that cast can, and have an easier time leveling. But then what happens at level 60? That cast sure as hell ain't takin' til October to catch up before the level cap's raised.

Maybe that newman gets to run advance quests and extreme quests sooner, and get chances at high tier things sooner. But they don't get MORE chances. That content will always be there, and it isn't going to disappear if that newman gets it first.
The problem with you saying this is a competitive game is that, no matter what, that newman can't stop or hinder that cast's progression. By definition, no competition is occurring.

After you get your perfect equipment set

Nigh impossible. You're talking about full 11* equipment (or 12* in the case of Ely Sion and Psycho Wand) with 3-8 affixes depending on your definition of "perfect". I haven't seen a single person running around with full 11* units, let alone fully affixed with an 11* or higher weapon. I can count the number of people I know with 11* equipment on one hand, and they only have one-two 11*s at most.

You have to understand that what you're talking about is a Herculean effort. Every little bit helps, even the small amount of base stats that are gained from picking a specific race.

You can only get one chance at a 12* weapon per Falz run. And you can only do one Extreme Quest run per day.
Since those items are rare, we need to deal in quantity of chances. Assuming we're both skilled enough to not fail either Falz or XQs, both I, a FOnewearl, and a FOcast are going to have the exact same number of chances at each of those.

LonelyGaruga
Jul 6, 2013, 06:46 PM
You can only get one chance at a 12* weapon per Falz run. And you can only do one Extreme Quest run per day.

This is false. You can do as many runs as you have passes. Most people save up their passes for the rare day and then get as many runs as they can to get the maximum number of opportunities at rare drops. Having a player that deals less damage or dies more often is a detriment to this goal. Furthermore, in the case of affixes, where AQs would probably be the best location to get them, a small loss in damage can make it necessary to defeat an enemy with another attack, and the longer it takes to defeat an enemy during a burst, the harder it will become to lengthen the burst. This is important to getting more drops, more opportunities for rares, and more EXP for EX Cubes.

Since those items are rare, we need to deal in quantity of chances. Assuming we're both skilled enough to not fail either Falz or XQs, both I, a FOnewearl, and a FOcast are going to have the exact same number of chances at each of those.

This is partially correct. While it's true that you have the same number of chances, the Fonewearl is going to be getting EXP at a more efficient rate and getting rares at a more frequent rate outside of Elder and XQs. If the Fonewearl is triggering bursts more frequently in an AQ and sustaining them longer than a Focast (and the former would), then more rares and EXP are obtained, leading to a more sustainable income of EX Cubes and thus rare drop boosters (among other things). So not only can the Fonewearl possibly run more XQ runs on a rare drop day compared to the Focast, but the Fonewearl also has more rare drop boosters to use, giving an edge on both number of drop opportunities and the likelihood of something being dropped in the first place.

New stuff

Slacked my way through part 3, but here's the large icons for part 3 and part 4.

Party 3 included the quest names/descriptions. The new ones are as follow:
Story quests: Road to the Unknown (意思が導く未知の道). Hitherto, Henceforth (いままでと、これから). Note: The two subplots for e2ch1 (Road to the Unknown) are "His Will Inherited" and "Her Will Not Inherited".
Free Field: Coast Exploration (海岸探索).
Arks Quests: Coast Ecological Survey (海岸地域生態調査), Environmental Protection: Coast (環境保全任務:海岸; this wants you to clear the artillery flower e-trial), Subdue Org Blanc (オルグブラン討伐).
Emergency Quest: Beach Wars! (ビーチウォーズ!) - seasonal. Includes the Falz Arm navigator chatter, but presumably doesn't involve Falz Arm.
Limited Quests: Arks GP 2013 (アークスGP2013本戦), Arks GP 2013 Finals (アークスGP2013決勝).

New PSEs:
Just Attack Boost (ジャストブースト)
Weak Point Boost (ウィークブースト)
PP Regen Up (PP回復UP)
Zero Range Boost (ゼロレンジブースト)
Rare Trial Boost (レアトライアルブースト)

Nothing too exciting, still. Could try to cobble together the enemy names (Bal Dominus is the rare Bal Rodos, incidentally), but that's effort.
