I remember reading a long time ago that it can reduce your casts to a cost of 8pp, but now after not playing for years it seems to be 18pp?

Were they wrong, or was it changed or something?

it takes at max 10 PP off, some (zonde and razonde) higher level techs remove a bit of PP cost

Ah I see, but nobody's getting 8pp costs so I guess something was changed at some time.

They were probably talking about the net cost, which would include the PP recovered while charging the tech. With a 1 second charge time that's 5 PP you recover. Zonde is 23 SP - take off 10 from the skill, plus 5 from PP revival, and then you get 8 PP net cost from click to unclick.

Add in techer's PP Restorate skill to increase your PP recovery rate and that 5 turns into 7, bringing it down to a net cost of 6 PP to cast zonde.
