I do like artbooks.
Where can this book be bought? How much was it? Do you think it's a quality item for fans of ALL the PSOs/U ?

I got mine via Amazon (Other Sellers). It goes for $42 + $4 shipping there. I've also seen it on Play Asia.

Yes, it is a great artbook. It has at least 1-2 pages for every game in the saga and all releases/re-releases. It has maybe 10 pages on PSO (I already had 2 books for those), but a ton of pages for PS02. I can't remember how many pages for the Universe games but they are all featured as well as PS Zero and the PSP versions.

191 pages total

Ah, saw a few pictures of this on some blogs. I have been so tempted to buy it. Love the artbooks of Phantasy Star games. They consist of some wonderful ideas/concepts that had to be scrapped sadly. :/

Very curious of what is shown for PSO2 though.

Here are a ton of images that ebay seller japan-ssdyuk is hosting to promote the book.

(when looking for Japanese art books its always good to hit Ebay, find the Japanese sellers and many of their listings will host a ton of pics so you can see what the artbook is like. then you can shop around to buy it if it interests you)

Whoa, who's that guy in the blue cape suit, from the blue burst image.

I've never seen that dude before. Or perhaps he didn't make it to the final game?

He's Leo Grahart.

I think he was in the Episode 4 part of story mode.

I already answered you in Skype, but I'll post it up here in case other people wonder the same.

That's Leo Graheart, the orchestrator behind the events of PSO's Episode IV.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Have they released anything yet?
One of PSO's best things was the art behind the development and I wanted to see how the new team handled it for this game.

Sooooooo ... anything? Anything at all?

The 25th Anniversary Phantasy Star Visual Chronicle Book (http://www.amazon.com/Anniversary-Phantasy-Chronicle-Japanese-Edition/dp/4047288853)
Contains some PSO2 works, but there isn't a complete PSO2 artbook yet.

This Thread (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=211144) has some pictures of the artbook though.

That reminds me, what ever happened to the 25th anniversary concert? I was interested in hearing their songs.

I believe they said they are going to release a CD with the concert songs on it sometime later this year.

Oh, you're so lucky. It's generous of you to share pictures of it, love artbooks.
You could try imgur.com as an image hosting site, it's pretty good.

I've heard very good things about https://sta.sh/. 2GB of storage free, and they don't compress your larger files.

Alternatively, abload.de is pretty good (though it's in german, naturally, so you'll have to google translate your way around).

I also use Skydrive and a paid flickr account, as well as an imgur account (because redditors prefer it, for some reason), but I don't like imgur too much because it HEAVILY compresses any files above 1MB.

BIG OLAF

So they just put all the old concept art that we've already seen that was uploaded online over the past year? That's pretty lame.

But then again I wouldn't ever buy an artbook or anything like that.

i had a quick browse for the artbook and to summarise it yes...they basically compile concept arts and illustrations from the very first phantasy star to what we have today into one book....which from PSOBB onwards comes the illustrations and concept arts....those 8 bit days are just like a page or 2

I'm honestly more interested in the monster designs since, as noted already, we've seen the character concept arts anyway.

Newb question, what is PSOBB?

BTW, will look forward to the pics :D

edit: laziness is a very bad habit....done a quick Google search, so its a free server for PSO1? And still active?

PSO Blue Burst, the last version of the game including Episodes I, II and IV. The current online servers are not official (and neither allowed to discuss on pso-w)

I was really disappointed about the arts in this book, I was actually expecting some NEW designs of classic characters like the 20th anniversary art, but for each game... but it's nice having the original arts eem... on paper... the ones every phantasy star compilation already has.

I wonder if they lost all the art and concepts for their original games. Wasn't like today where you can make a bunch of copies in every form of media in a few seconds.

Anyone with the arbook can tell me how did they get the console and Myau decos? is it that card I'm supposed to cut with an expiration date of march 2014? should there be another card with a visiphone code?

EDIT: I'll answer myself: yes, the code is inside... not cool to have to cut a single part of a collector's artbook...
