It doesn't matter that much, I usually go with light since darkers are on every planet though.

Also this should probably be in the quick questions thread, or at the very least, the gameplay/guides subforum.

People tend to go for Fire/Lightning/Light, though the difference isn't really all that much (around 5% extra damage for using the correct element). The important thing if you're going for more damage is that your weapon has 50 element on it, regardless of whatever it may be.

Ice or Wind wouldn't be bad either, considering the new planet.

so 50 Attribute = 5% additional dmg with the correct element ?

so 50 Attribute = 5% additional dmg with the correct element ?

More like (and I don't have exact numbers):

50% element (no matter what) = x% of damage increase greater than 5%

50% element hitting an elemental weakness = an additional 5% increase to the number above

I'm sure someone will come along with exact numbers soon.

I can't remember off the top of my head and am probably making things up, but going from 30 -> 50 element on your weapon is about a 10% increase in all damage, no matter what element your weapon has.

If the monster you attack is weak to your weapon's element, then it's another 5% extra damage.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, don't wanna spread false information around here.

From what I've heard 50 element on weapon multiplies the weapon's attack power by a percentage.

Weapon with 200 ATK and 50 element = 200 + 100 elemental ATK (the elemental ATK gets a boost when it hits a weakness)

Your weapon's element gives it x% extra atk. If you have a 500 atk weapon, then 30% is going to effectively turn it into a 650 atk weapon. If it has 50% element then it's effectively a 750 atk weapon. This will get a slight bonus if an enemy is weak to the element, I don't know exactly what but it's something like 10-20% (so 50% element and the correct weakness would mean something like an effective 800 atk, at best)

Weapon with 200 ATK and 50 element = 200 + 100 elemental ATK (the elemental ATK gets a boost when it hits a weakness)

this basically, weakness multipliers range from 1.1 to 1.3 (of course that doesn't include enemy defense and shit)

There is an actual formula for its effectiveness, but it's a bit convoluted.

You may need to Chrome-ify that.

Oh, and element does not affect the damage on T-Atk based weapons at all (or well, it only effects the melee capabilities of them).

Not wind.

I'd say either lightning or light (because it is everywhere the darkers).

btw
if we want to increased weapon 's atribute we have to get another one with the same name
so those high tier rare stuff almost have no chance to improve it's atribute ?

Some 10☆s are rare and pretty expensive, but it's possible. Don't even think about getting 50 element for 11☆ weapons any time soon.

I saw someone with a 42 element emperor axeon earlier today, it was pretty incredible.

Level of element aside, I prefer light since it can induce panic on mobs. Much rather have them run in circles than attack me. Only other situation i'd say poison (poison atty better than a element atrribute of darK) or lightning for DOT vs clones (yeh I'm still clone paranoid from my 17Hu getting attacked by her own clone... )

Elements don't have built-in status effects.

Pyroxenes for this reason alone are almost always superior weapon choices with exceptions based on weapon potentials.
