Hello there Arks!
It’s time for the 3rd round of Oracle top model, Caseals. Even though we did not get as many entries as in the other races, we still got good ones. We got a lot of diversity in this one, Human looking ones and Machines. :)
So, before I present you the Top 10 I will explain the rules. This is because we want everybody to understand the rules before they start voting.

Am glad i am not the only one thinking that.

Why? As how I understand CASTs are designed to be mechanical life forms/synthetic life forms. But who am I to tell them what a real CAST char is? Maybe one wants to be a Robot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot), the other wants to be an Android (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_%28robot%29), the next wants to be a cyborg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyborg). All of this is fine because everyone can choose what kind of CAST they wanna be, and it's kinda sad how much CAST-players do not like the diversity their race has. CAST is a race where more diversity is possible then with any other race, you should not dislike or reject the diversity but start to accept it.

tl;dr:
Also fleshy clothes can make a cast.
Robot = a mechanical or virtual agent, usually an electro-mechanical machine that is guided by a computer program or electronic circuitry
Android = An Android is a robot or synthetic organism designed to look and act like a human
Cyborg = a being with both organic and cybernetic parts

The "looks not caseal" argument is ok, but you can wear fleshy clothes and look like a caseal. And I think each of the top 10 are clear to tell they are caseals, also out of 14 entries we had only 9 not wearing fleshy clothes. That would ahve been a short top 10.
I just think each person deserves to participate with his character as they designed and planned them.

Also that would be unfair towards all CASTs that wear fleshy clothes. I couldn't put them in the other 3 categories because they are CASTs.

I won't disqualify people just because others don't like they way they dress. Everyone gets a fair chance in this.

i feel as though (to me anyway being the art geek and all) they have such an opertunity to have such unique bodies with the cast parts that are lost in generic-ness when in an fleshy outfit. ;x

If anything, I wasn't expecting to make the top 10 with my mostly low budget look, aside from the body and arms, everything else is from the default list of accessories.

You don't always need accesories to make a good looking char ;), my character uses no accesories whatsoever, just a mix of 2 different part styles.

My /semi/main char is made after a fleshy character, Nei, the first newman. Though back then in PSO1 times I was more into CASTs, that's why i made a cyborg replica of her. But, to keep a right image, I'm always trying to make her more fleshy like.

Speaking of PSU, there was a huge choice of excellent human like looking parts, even between default ones:

And now, let's get back to PSO2. Here caseal parts have too many of mechanical joints, plus, most are too loli, gigantic or grotesque looking, all of which totally doesn't look right with my char's image. That's why I deny to use parts in this game.

Rosen Schwartz set, which you've partially used for this contest screenshot, is actually acceptable one in my opinion, but just because this (only) one is brought from previous series and keeps PSU/P design. I used it here for couple of weeks, but got bored, because used it long enough back in PSU days too.

That's my point of wearing fleshy costumes in PSO2. Mostly RP case. And I do believe, that every person who uses those clothes on their caseals have their points too.

P.S.: Also, this contest isn't only caseal's contest, but for every other race too. Disqualifying all-class clothes using caseals just wouldn't be right. And making a separate poll just for them (which are just 5 ppl including me, as I understand) sounds very silly.

why did you pic cast if you dont like parts? i have 2 casts and they both have fleshie versions of themselves. i like to switch now and then.

but the fun about casts is how versatile they are in customization and i see that few contestants used it to its full potential.

My char was created at 1st day game came out, was planned as caseal for a long time before, can say.. years. There was no parts 'sides default ones and all-class costumes at all. And I used parts first couple of months. When a decent amount of good all-class costumes came out, I've realised, that those suits my character more, than parts, which game has at the moment. That's why I switched to them. Been checking every new parts set since, but almost none yet can satisfy me. Sigh..

I agree with you that everyone should get their chance with the character they have and which they designed in a certain way. :yes:

Then again some that I have seen ingame and two here are actually on the border of being barely recognizable as a cast/caseal in my opinion.
I do appreciate the effort Crimson Exile and Cybernei put into this, but without looking at the closeup shots, I just find that they look almost like a human or newearl. Considering those races can use accessories like the Nono Schwantz Sensor etc., the line blurs even more.

That said the selection was probably still good to show the wide variety this race can have. Afterall this is a contest and everyone can vote, so there is no problem.

I think Sega has a odd selection of costumes, parts etc. and some people surely feel limited by what they can achieve with what is offered.
I feel there are mostly parts that are either very skin showing, cute to appearl to a certain audience or they are full on mechsuits with some being inbetween. You have some that stand out like the lamia, fliegen sets, but those seem to not be what the mainly japanese audience wants.

I really would like to see more of the PSU parts, which I felt had a good a variety and some mechanical looking costumes similar to Phantom Queen, but maybe less on the cute side. That is one costume I rarely see on anyone and which I feel would look good on some caseals. Personally I don't use costumes on mine and try to create something nice with the parts, even when I don't want to have a full combat ready look.

I will make sure to enter if a similar contest comes along in the future. Expected more than 14 people entering honestly and felt like my limited selection of parts etc. wasn't good enough. Hmp. CASEALs are hard to pull off, even harder for someone to start late in this game because of how much you have to pay out your ass for parts.

Even funnier to me, there are so few people that actually like their CASEALs to even appear like machines. Males are gonna be fucked if they didn't get their stuff right at the start.

Not in a million years did I even expect to get into the top 10, let alone win the Caseal portion of the contest!

Not in a million years did I even expect to get into the top 10, let alone win the Caseal portion of the contest!
