Does anyone else get "..." popping up on screen at random. It's really starting to annoy me now. it doesn't come from an NPC. just constant "..." at one point today it was going off every 2 seconds all over my screen.

It means that there are people talking in the lobby but you are slightly too far to pick up the messages.

Yeah, as Z-0 says, it means someone, a player, is talking in the lobby, but instead of the whole message going on your screen, only "..." appears because you are too far away to "hear" exactly what they said. It doesn't bug me much, but I can imagine it could be quite annoying to some.

On a semi related note is there a way to turn off chat bubbles? Those are also incredibly annoying when in the lobby.

It can be quite annoying in B20 with a lot bs spam when you walk past. I don't see a problem about it in other lobbies.

But to answer your question, yes you can turn of chat bubbles somewhere in the options for every type of chat, aswell as showing them in the log. Not sure if it is a wise idea to do so though.

You can't turn off every type of chat bubble, only team bubbles. It's in communication history.

Absolute BS, it has nothing to do with distance, you see "..." as ppl are either whispering, talking in team chat or party-chat.

It is distance, try going to a lobby where someone is talking and get away from them. You can't see a whisper, that's why it's a whisper.

It must be boring to be an NPC.....

LOL that pic and that "..." is usually from nearby chat (public chat) when too far to read what they are saying.

If only I could Like your comment... XD

To make something clear, though, you can disable or filter chat in your Log Window, but you cannot stop anything but team bubbles from appearing. The "..." is when you're too far away to hear a conversation (which makes sense in implementing, and it doesn't bother most people in all actuality). As PSO2 has a far larger lobby than any previous PS game, it makes sense in having that setup for chat (less confusion, basically).

The only time chat bubbles get annoying to me in-game is when I'm trying to focus on some menus and there's a bunch of bubble spam EVERYWHAR! When that happens, I just go to my 'neutral zone', Block 5. It's a secret to everyone...
