Step is the hunter and Fighter form of dashing aka Ra or Gus Rolling aka Fo or Te photon mirage thingy.

It's the evasion maneuver that you do basically, so your answer is yes. All you need is to have 1 point in step attack in either Fighter/Hunter/Braver and then sub/main any of them to gain access to Step attack. Only 1 class needs it, so your sub can have step attack but your main won't need it and you'll still be able to do a step attack.

triple dashing requires daggers or knuckles (all class ones) but I don't know the process though. With any weapons outside of those two, triple dashing would be slow.

This same method also applies for Just Reversal.
