For starters, some people get extremely annoyed when they have to read bastardized internet english.

I'm not saying whether it's wrong or right, I'm just stating the obvious.

If you start out a message like that, you are alienating yourself to a large percentage of people right off the bat.

Also, I don't want random people messaging me about PSO, and I'm sure others don't as well.

You can't just message some stranger and expect a warm welcome. You might get a warm welcome (it would be nice), but be prepared to encounter a lot of nasty people on the lovely internet.

For me its defintly how you type. Sorry but its not like PSO where I can be forgiving for lack of a keyboard. If you have a keyboard and the time to write the post then write it so people don't have to decipher it.

all i said was hi do u noe this about mag cells.

And what do you wish to know?

And your greeting was probably not that polite to this person so he/she blocked you. I mean you just out of nowhere asked a question.

See?

Just ignore the comments here about your typing for this topic is not about your grammar. So I'm gonna answer your question on why some people are mean.

Because they are careless coincided jackasses that care only for themselves than the next person. You have to find the right people to talk to, when you want to know something. And mean people also can't hack it and can't tolerate other peoples odd flaws and whatever. So they're quick to let you know that they do not give a flying shit about you.

You will always run across someone like that on the internet. My boss once said "If he's gonna be an asshole, let em be an asshole".

Exactly. Your awful typing style alone would be enough to make anyone block or ignore you.

Post your questions on PSOW or ask your friends if they happen to play PSO. Messaging someone out of the blue and asking a question is very rude. First, it's more of a demand and puts that person on the spot. Second, you don't know how busy that person is, so you asking questions while they might be doing something important can get in the way.

Some people have asked me PSO related questions that they could easily find on PSOW. After afew messages, I just end up saying I'm busy, and if they STILL keep coming to me with questions that could easily be found on PSOW, I block them.

It's nothing personal, but I'm not going to act as a personal encyclopedia for PSO and so on when people could easily go look it up themselves. o_O

I've always been one to tolerate bad typing. However if you don't state where you found me I do feel shifty. For all I know you're really a bot trying to get me to a pornographic website. So if you don't state where you find me... you may have to expect some uneasiness.

Not to be mean or anything like that, but if you Aimed me and talked to me like that I may have blocked you too.

It hurts the eyes and the mine to read butchered English. Also people may have thought you were just a beggar. I personally don't like it when people e-mail or AIM me asking me questions about rares or magcell without the proper introduction.

Well I'm a nice person. People can come to me with problems. I don't care if they speak really bad internet talk, or really broken english, or anything. Just as long as they're willing to be as nice to me as I'm willing to be to them!

I know there're lots of cruel people out there. But there are still a few good ones!

If a person is really busy, why would they have a distracting IM client open?

some of us (poor me) use aol, and the messageing system is ALWAYS open... aim is obviously compatable with aol... but nobody has asked me random psow questions yet...

my brother constantly butchers english like that everyday... it makes me want to... to... augh! if somebody imed me like that, i would definatly block them. i can see it isn't only one of my pet peeves... 9/10s of people hate that!

Because I might be having an important conversation over AIM?

I'm not a blatant ass to people who message me, I'll answer afew of their questions and tell them exactly where most, if not all of their questions can be answered, but if I'm busy and they don't take the hint, and if I have to tell them I'm busy and then they still message me with questions that can be answered if they went to where I directed them, then they will be blocked.

It's just a pet peeve, and it's abit rude to keep bothering someone with questions when they are already answered somewhere else.

An example is "What does your MAG do?". Once I explain what all a MAG does, and give you a link with more information on all you could ever want to know, it's abit annoying when the person comes back and asks "What does PB mean/do?", "How do I evolve my mag?", "What does a mag like to eat?", "yackity-smackity"

Overall, I answer plenty of questions, but there is a limit as to what I'll take the time to do considering alot of the information available is here.

Oh, and if you message someone out of the blue, tell them who the hell you are and where they might know you from. o_O

supadupa: HII!! What does blah blah blah blah?!!"
Abdur: ...*answers* oh and.. who are you again?
supadupa: LOL!! you don't know?!??
Abdur: No
supadupa: LOLOL!!
Abdur: ... *block*

Well, when I'm busy on something like aim let's say? I just put an away message. But if people keep IMing me then I sign off. There's no point in IMing someone saying:

"helo?"
"u ther?"
"cmon answer me!"

Obviously I'm away for a reason...

you've got 2 different types of people out there. Ones that are just plain rude, and the others that will go out of their way to help someone (very few) Should'a asked me, i'd help ya out no matter what your spelling is like, just as-long is its legible. Heck, I had a guy message me out of the air today wantin to talk with me cause he thinks i am cool. It's cool with me! I dont mind, I like the company, and giving help!

There's also the possibility it might be the AIM user's privacy settings. You can set the program to block all IMs from people that aren't on your contact list. I did that for a while myself.

Either way, just hop on PSO and look for the answer.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I enjoy it when people I've never met message me. I guess that just happens when you're lonely, as I am...

But yeah, I'll welcome anybody who wishes to IM me...

There are two types of people in the world. There's the intelligent and seducing people like you and me, and then there's the seven billion morons populating this planet.

Hey meow, when you block someone on the latest AIM, does it look like you just plain go offline indefinately, or does it tell the blockee that you've blocked them? I'd like to change my "Blocked" final message to "Fuck you =^_^="

Some people have some sory of sense of pride that they'd rather not explain something that seems like commen knowledge to them, to someone like yourself. And some people are anal. Many people are helpful though, if a person is an ass to you, just ignore them and look for someone willing to help.

There are nice people, maybe not a whole lot on these these boards or on PSO servers, but they do exsist.

But if someone blocks you on AIM, then its maybe because they just don't know you.

Well, I am one of the few that could help you, and yes, I will go out of my way to help someone with a problem or so, it's what I enjoy doing. If I'm online, you can IM me and ask me, but I must say, anything past Version 2, I don't know much about, but it's worth a try.

AIM Screen name = SqwirL5252

I'm a nice person, no matter how bad you type...just try to make a little sense and blammo, I'll be more than glad to help http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

You know what bugs me people who discriminate by what people type on a a computer screen.Intelligence or common sense for that matter cannot be measured by how people type or communicate.I met some truly ignorant people who had great grammar. And met some pretty intelligent people with bad grammar. This is America and we should celabrate our diversity. How we communicate with each other is not always going to be the way we want it.Not everyone can write a book on grammar and even those who think they use proper grammar don't.So quit with the Hatorade already!

You appear offline. It tells the person that you signed off at such and such time.
