I was wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of level I would need to be on to complete the offline ruins boss on normal. I'm a level 35 hunter, but still find the levels quite difficult. Should I be at a level now where I could easily beat the boss, or do I need to progress more ?

At that level, yes you should be able to beat Ruins on Normal, but what character are you?

I'm a HUmar. I haven't faced the boss yet (Offline), but I am finding the levels quite difficult and get killed several times on route

What weapon are you using? Use a sword type weapon because those packs of dimenians can be annoying.

Yeah you should have no problem if you have a decent sword. A level 35 HUmar can hand Falz his ass, just give it a try http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm using a thunder palash +2, I heard though that you needed to use a gun against Falz ?

You definitely need a partisan or a sword. Do 2-hit combos, back off when they swipe at you, and repeat until they die. Bring a handgun too, just in case. Cast Jellen/Zalure to make them weaker and die faster.
You only need a gun for Falz's 3rd form, and he doesn't get that until hard mode. Dark Falz is better known as Dark Pansy in normal mode. Come to think of it, he's still a wuss up until Ultimate where he can cheap you out with his rabarta-darvant combo.

My fellow Hunter... all you got to do is to heft a good Sword-type weapon and the packs of Dimenians and Claws won't be so hard.
You could also bring a good gun, like the Autogun or Railgun (if your ATA is high enough) and pick off the enemies from a distance.
The gun also comes in handy against Dark Falz, in fact, even if I prefer melee over anything, it's best not to waste 'mates if you can help it.
Usually, I go against Dark Falz at around level 20~25, depending on the character. Lower level if Hunters, higher for Forces.
And if you use Techs, better use Shifta/Deband before entering a room and Resta whenever you need it, that way, you'll save the 'mates for later.
Personally, I don't count too much on my MAG to cover me... when I am almost on 75~85 PB charge, I am already full and/or empty in the 'mate/'fluid department, so I have to 'pipe back to the Pioneer. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Thanks for your help. I went to the ruins last night and despite getting killed three times by DF, I peservered and finally broke through.Yay.
I then had a quick nip down to the forest on hard mode and found 2 rares (A club of laconium which I can't use and something begining with B which I can ue but not yet). Anyway, PSO life is good
