Just recently it took me 12 tries to +10 my 11* weapon at latent 2, and now the weapon is just begging to be latent 3 at this point. Just keep trying and you'll get it at some point.

sometimes more than 17 tries, lol

(I gave up and firesold them some time later after trying and failing two more times without protects, 9-8-9-8-5 TIME TO SELL)

Grinding is hard because dudu needs your tears & meseta to sustain himself. Planets will explode, dimensions will implode, loli will grow tall, males will no longer look like sissy girls, if there is ever a high success rate on grinding. Dudu does this to save us all(or not).

On a serious note, grindings still cheap for me, around 500k per 10*. Don't hate.

should i just not buy the full protection....? (i make around 900k per day)

What's your prediction on +10 for Acro Cane?

Ever since an elder rifle took 9 full protects (Back when they were 800-900k, no less) to +10, I have never touched one. For the price of one you can get a 10% grind success booster and a +1 protection.. (of course, if I ever got an 11* weapon, that will change lolol)

It takes normally 20-40 grinds for me to +10 a 10* from +0, rarely more then a stack. normally takes 5 5%s/+1 protects from +8-+10 aswell, for the cost of 1-2 full protects :3

It took me around 15 tries to get my parasol to +10 during the boosted grind rate week. When I was unlocking the PP-recovering ability on the wooden rod, it would take 10-15 tries each time.

So yeah, welcome to free to play games. Prepare your AC.

Last I heard, the 9->10 base success rate was estimated to be 30%.

So that means that for roughly every 2 failures you have, someone else succeeds.

So every time you fail your two first tries? Someone else succeeds on their first try ツ

Every time you fail 10 tries in a row? We could say it's totally plausible that five other people succeed on their first try ツツツツツ

That time you failed 20 tries in a row? シツシツシツ

More like 3%

It's such a pain to make you angry enough to keep trying so you can "beat the system"someday and feel satisfied with yourself. It's a nice way to keep most people around (see: masochists).

Why is grinding so hard? Its because Dudu knows we "pleasure" ourselves at night before going to bed at nights...?

You might be on to something.

As far as grinding is concerned, Dudu got nothing on some others F2P out there. And concidering the most recent gears on my old F2P(P2W truthfully), even affix'ing isn't too bad.

so would it be cheaper to spend 500k+ for buying grinders and just keep spamming it till i get +10 :3?

Maybe. Or maybe not. I don't have my crystal ball on hand, sorry. But here, have these dice. Try rolling them to simulate the experience and they should tell you.

well i made it to +9 >_> (9-10 are only -3 while the rest are -2)

10* weapons pretty much favor -1 penalty over the other risks, even though risk does go up and success rate goes down to 20-30% at +9.

Here's a thread where I calculated average costs for getting to +10 on a 10*, given success/failure risk distributions. (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=206991) The derived rule of thumb is to start using +1 protection items at +7. Using a +5% success ticket +9 is about the same average cost as not using one, fluxuating based on the price of that item.

I usually 10+ all my gear, but its getting very repeative and sometimes the od fail makes me rage lol, so now i prefer to purchase already 10+ gear if it is for a reasonable price and have great affixed abbilties .

Grinding gears is much easier than grinding weapons primarily because of less risk reduction on fail.

For me, I find it so awkward that I spend no more than 200K to +10 my 10*s. Hell, I +10 my first 10* drop (Yammy 9k) in 1 try with no boosters back when W&R was around. Talk bout RNG.

Don't buy full protect while grinding 10star weapons because most of the time, you only drop -1 or -2.

a +1 grind makes that full protection, or -1 very often.

You will waste soooo much less money if you use -1 instead of full protect.

Probably the only case to use a full protect is when you have a -4 chance.........

Is that a thing with 11-12* weapons?

Is that a thing with 11-12* weapons?

According to Cirno it is only for 11* and 12* but I swear I saw -4 when regrinding my Yammy 9k after unlocking latent ability.

Yeah I meant Weapons, I was under the impression that gear was Weapons and Units. My bad.

Also using +1s or +2s and +10% or 20%-30% Enhanced success rate items work great.

At +8, Monica failed me 18 times in a row with +1 protect. I just laughed.

Took the weapon to Dudu and hit +10 in two attempts. Yeah I'm sticking with Dudu, because I know what he has to offer. I know my chance of success.

Superstition is popular, I see.

In some games, superstition are somewhat interesting and dumb. People began to make all these claims and yet because the devs never gives out any fact, only one can assume through personal experience....................But what the hell am I'm talking about? This is just RNG!!!!!

Edit: LOL post deleted when I posted this.

Unless I'm seriously you have no luck brilliantly during that session, I can usually get a 10* to +10 with within 20 to 25 protect 1s. (I start using them at +6. No full protect.)
