Current Server Status: Online
Servers are back online.

English Patch Status: Undergoing Maintenance
Please note that all English patches are currently non-functional due to the update. The teams are working on providing an update to each of these patches in order to get them working again. The status of the patches are posted below:

Current PSO2 Tweaker Version: ver 2.5.4.9
English Patch: Working!
English Large Files: Not working, will cause infinite loop.
English Story Patch: Not working 100%, may cause issues.
Item Translation Patch: Working!

I think this is why some people don't see their precede folders much less not bale to patch the game.

Might wanna add that.

This thread is here to inform current and future Phantasy Star Online 2 users about the new update that will be performed on Sep. 4th, 2013 @ 11:00 to 17:00 JST. If you have any questions about the next major update in regards to issues you may have with updating to the latest game version post-maintenance to what new content will be available from this update, please stay tuned for more updates to this thread throughout the week as we provide you updates as this data moves along. To discuss this next major content update, please post on this thread here: http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212649

---------------------------------------------------------------

This week's periodic maintenance for PSO2 JP will be conducted on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 by SEGA. The update will run from its normally scheduled maintenance period, which is 11:00 to 17:00 JST (10:00 PM Tuesday to 4:00 AM Wednesday EDT).

Note About Pre-Patches: SEGA has stopped the pre-patch downloads from running. If you are missing your '_precede' folder, please note it is a result of the maintenance that is currently underway. When the servers come back online, follow the instructions bellow if you want to get setup with the most recent JP files.

---------------------------------------------------------

DISCLAIMER:
All users of PSO2 Tweaker are now required to re-download the program from the following link in order to avoid having an error that will inhibit Phantasy Star Online 2 from launching. This is a requirement for all users of PSO2 Tweaker prior to the 2.5.4.0 update made last week by AIDA in order to both download and install patches to get them working in-game. This new download can be found at the following link: https://copy.com/7swG37iPG7GzZoCT/PSO2%20Tweaker.exe?download=1

The reason for this is due to the old patch server crashing. The newer patch server is faster, meaning that both download and install speeds should also become much faster. This should benefit all users with the new updates made on September 4th, 2013 as it will allow faster download and install time for the vanilla JP files and re-installing the English Patch/English Large Files/English Story Patch thereafter. Please note that all you need to do to set this up is download the file to the same location as your current 'PSO2 Tweaker.exe' file. This will allow you to overwrite the file with the new one. To do this, start up PSO2 Tweaker, click on the Orb in the top-left, and click on 'Check for PSO2 Updates'. Select 'No' when the dialog box shows up, and let the install of the vanilla JP files finish. After the update, you want to go back into the Orb menu, go to Install/Update Patches > English Patch/English Large Files/English Story Patch (as needed), and re-enable the 'Translate Items' option in the Orb's menu.

Please note that errors or crashes can occur past the scheduled maintenance. If you need any assistance with errors or issues in PSO2 that are related to the Tweaker, or encounter any errors post-maintenance, please provide us your qualms on this thread and we will address them ASAP: http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207248

If the update stalls at any point, please restart the PSO2 JP Launcher or PSO2 Tweaker (depending on where you normally install the updates from). Then, redo the process you were working on in order to continue where you left off. Please note that this is a large content update that is 2.7 GB in total download size.

---------------------------------------------------------

New Updates Included:

Halloween Event Lobby
[SPOILER-BOX]Following the regularly scheduled maintenance period for Wednesday, October 9th, 2013, the Halloween Event Lobby will be going active! (You can commence howling now. :-P)

MAG Ownership Cap Increased
[SPOILER-BOX]MAGs can be used to effectively boost the stats of your character. Due to growing demand for more stat combinations, the number of MAGs you can have per character has been doubled from 10 to 20.

Note: To get a new MAG, you will have to purchase one with AC through the AC Shop. To do so, press Esc while in-game to bring up the Main Menu > Go to Arks Cash > AC Shop > AC Shop (Inventory/Storage). Please know that if a MAG Ticket is used it registers that particular MAG to the character, not the account. MAGs cannot be stored or switched between characters.[/SPOILER-BOX]

'Quarry' Field Added

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Account Bans from Malicious Activity in August 2013
There has been an on-going issue with RMT (Real Money Trading) outside of Phantasy Star Online 2 for in-game Meseta by RMT suppliers. SEGA has implemented a stop action across the board for any users they find maliciously selling and/or disbursing in-game virtual receivables.

Anyone who has been found trading with these RMT suppliers will find the Meseta and in-game items bought with that Meseta completely taken away from the players due to the players themselves having unauthorized access to those items. If your account has been linked with one of the RMT suppliers out there, you WILL be permanently banned.

---------------------------------------------------------

Extra Notes:

This update is required to play the game post the aforementioned time.
The game's title screen should read the following version number after the update is performed: ver. 2.0101.0
2.7 GB of free hard drive disk space is necessary for this update to be performed. If you are downloading and installing Phantasy Star Online 2 for the first time, the total disk space necessary for all of the game's content will be 13.8 GB.
If you have already downloaded both pre-patches for the game, then you will only have a 60 MB patch to download. The pre-patches can only be downloaded through the PSO2 Launcher as Tweaker does not support pre-patches. (Thanks, Ezo!)

Didn't know if I should ask here, but oh well seems fitting...
Never done a prepatch before, so is there anyway to tell if I have them downloaded?
Are you able to download both prepatch parts at anytime after the dates or only at the set dates?
I know I did one download, but I'm not sure if it was only that part or both.

When opening the launcher, if a message appears asking you to do the pre-patch, means that you haven't done it completely yet. If no message appears, then you have completed it.

Oh wow do I feel dumb now.
I didn't even notice the 2nd part comes out today, actually it just came out about an hour ago.
I thought I missed it so I didn't know if the one I downloaded was both of them or just one.

In any case got them both downloaded now, thanks.

Incorrect translation. What is actually said is that the meseta and items you buy from RMT sites are obtained from account theft and the people buying RMT are supporting this practice and are therefore cunts.

Prepare for a large uproar from innocent players losing their stuffs due to an accident on Sega's side. or Prepare for a large uproar from those that were participating with the RMT.

Yeah, but the thing is, I had a Sange+S&Y in EVERY PS game that had one, so with me being excited that it's coming to PSO2 is understandable. I just hope twin katanas becomes a thing or something, and I pray this blade isn't going to be a BS drop off of some 0.01% monster.

It will probably be a drop from Falz or a rare mob or the new boss himself.

IMO I would rather have it as a drop from the new boss rather than a rare mob other than any other sources since you know drops from regular mobs are shitty unless in burst and drops from rares are almost impossible and drops from elder is just a dream.

Katanas in PSO, Sabers in PSU, if I recall correctly.

S&Y were sabers. The Agito was a sword. Also, I would love to see the Sange drop from Varder Soma. It would be kinda poetic, wouldn't it?

Actually PSU did have an Agito that was a saber, in fact it was named True Agito.
On that note though, something I would love to see is if they added Agito Repca to pso2. It's safe to say I'll never get an Ely Sion, so that would be the next best thing.

Other than Ely Sion, there's a few others katana shaped swords in the icons list.

The first 4 seem to be sealed and unsealed versions, probably.
The last 2, left is Ely Sion, right is either something new, or something based in previous games, maybe?

Now I remember it was Kokuintou Houzuki you had to kill 2000 enemies with it and yes there was a unsealed version of it and once unsealed its ATK and ACC will receive a 30% boost. The blade of the sword will be surrounded by a ghostly aura.

One of those has to be it, the 2handed sword was an 11*.

In this small list of katanas, the 4th one isn't actually new, it's the already released Agito, I put it in the picture just for comparison. ^^;

Am I seeing that large chart correctly? A EX and Noir unit set?
Yeah, or, it's one part of the large chart (it has 2 parts, the 2nd part is much smaller and has just some more room decos, mags, PAs, skill tree skills and such).

And there appears to be 2 EX sets and 2 Noir sets.

As expected of a large update, core english patch, large files patch, story patch, the 3 of them will need new versions due to today's update, the previous versions of them will either not work or will be buggy.

Anyway, while PSO2 was updating on my PC, felt like making lists of unreleased weapons from the icons list.

Lots of updates are rolling on in! This is the initial batch of update information from SEGA JP. We should receive a finalized batch of updates shortly after maintenance today.

Stay tuned~ :D

New Updates Included:

AC Purchase Campaign #6
[SPOILER-BOX]
http://pso2.jp/players/news/image/element/info20130902/ac/header.jpg

The sixth AC purchase campaign officially started rolling out since September 2nd at 11:00 JST (September 1st, 10:00 PM EDT) and will continue to go into effect until September 30th at 23:59 JST (10:59 AM EDT).

During this campaign, those who purchase 2000 AC and/or 5000 AC and add the acquired AC onto your account through SEGA JP's site will automatically be enrolled into this campaign to receive eligible items through a Visiphone Terminal near you!

2000 AC Reward Items
If you add 2000 AC to your account, you will be eligible to receive the following items through your Visiphone:

Grind Success Rate +10% x2
Grind Risk Reduction +1 x4
Grinder x50

5000 AC Reward Items
If you add 5000 AC to your account, you will be eligible to receive the following items through your Visiphone:

Grind Success Rate +10% x2
Grind Risk Reduction +1 x4
Grinder x50
White Rappy Suit x1

Planned Arrival Time: Rewards will be disbursed through the Campaign Reward Items section of the Visiphone Terminal in late October 2013.

Notes: Please note that rewards are only handed out once per account. This means that if you purchased 10000 AC in this time period and registered all of that Arks Cash onto one account, you would still only qualify for the one set of reward items mentioned above in the 5000 AC Reward Items section.
[/SPOILER-BOX]

Boost Information

Also note that they're not all coming in this update, alot of weapons have been in the icons list for several months already, they're just there in preparation for future updates (I bet the great majority of them will start appearing with super hard mode).

Finally, katana is actually a serious weapon type for once. Okay, not really, at least not until they add the rest of their PAs... but it'll be nice to have something other than the same 6* I've been carting around since Episode 2 began.

Aside from that

Welp normally I don't download the precede until maintenance night (i mean its like 6hr wait) so I managed to update the Launcher and now its telling me that there is no way to play since the servers are under maintenance (which is obvious) so normally it would go straight to downloading the precede.

I want to assume this is doing this to everyone else who hasnt updated to the precede yet, anyways else seeing this?

Also, is this a way to prevent ppl from getting on the servers a little too early?

Either it wasn't applied before like they claimed, or they will drop even more often now.

Just to be clear, that does not mean the rates have been altered (those are most likely unchanged). This is just something that will impact the frequency of finding a rare item that is for your specific class rather than another one.

I'm translating all of the System Updates as well, but it will take me a while as it is quite hefty~ ;-)

Can somebody explain the element grinding part?

You no longer need the same weapon to element grind.

Just the same weapon type and same rarity.

Unless there was something new added to how this is supposed to work. You can image how that'll make element grinding more conveniant/simultaneously change up market prices on certain weapons.

http://pso2.jp/players/news/?id=2125
Can somebody explain the element grinding part?

Instead of having to use weapons of the same name, you can now use weapons that are of the same type and rarity instead. Say you want to attribute grind a 7 star sword, but the lowest you can find the sword is 200k. Pushing it to 50 would be costly, but now you can use a DIFFERENT 7 star sword for attribute grinding. This could cut down the cost quite a bit. However, if you use the same weapon, it will enhance the attribute more than if you used a different weapon. Using the same weapon that has the same attribute will be even more effective than that.

Weapon of the same category and rarity can now be used to element grind with a value of 1

Same weapon with different element (no element included) when used to element grind will have a value of 10 now

Same weapon with matching element when used to element grind will add the current value of material weapon's element to target weapon's elemental

Increased amount of synthesizer required to element grind to...um...idk :c

Current Server Status: Undergoing Maintenance
Servers are currently offline. Maintenance has been extended 4 1/2 hours. This means that the projected time for the maintenance to finish is now 21:30 JST (8:30 AM EDT). Sorry for the inconvenience~

Kora just found out that the post poned maint has nothing to do with the actual content we are getting they actual stopped the patching files.

I think this is why some people don't see their precede folders much less not able to patch the game.

Might wanna add that.

So unless I'm reading that wrong, this is what the new attribute grinding system will be:

If both the weapon and the fodder are the same rarity but NOT the same item (regardless of attributes), then increase attribute by 1.

If both the weapon and the fodder are the same item but DIFFERENT attribute, then increase attribute by 10.

If both the weapon and the fodder are the same item and have the SAME attribute, then increase the attribute by the value of the fodder.

Well damn, that's nice.

kabutozero
Sep 4, 2013, 05:01 AM
wow wait , if what you read is true, that means 50 element is going to be as easy as +10 ... because if you had a weapon with 25 element and find the same one with same element and 25 too... you could max it in one grind... that's really nice , will have to secure another tourmalinca as soon as I log in LOL

jooozek
Sep 4, 2013, 05:04 AM
so pyro shop stuff will just need 2 weapons to max out the attribute, good
might just roll out a ranger or maybe some melee

kabutozero
Sep 4, 2013, 05:21 AM
don't think so , less weapons needed for maxed = less demand

Since this change applies to all weapons not just pyroxene , I don't think there's going to be a price increase , since people would just buy newer/better 10* instead of that

I'm sure the prices will spike as everyone realizes it though. In the long term, this will probably decrease prices (demand down, supply stays the same, price would go down, ideally), but in the short term, everyone will want to get their weapon up to 50 cause they can, so I think it'll spike.

Eh, we'll see. It's nice that attribute grinding is easier, now if only grinding was easier.

this. The only thing special about 50 element is if it's on an 11* at this point.

Sep 4, 2013, 05:30 AM
I assume prices for the weapons will spike, so you will profit as the one selling them. But at the same time - since people will need less weapons either way - l think it's still gonna be cheaper for them than buying a bigger amount of weapons at the former pricepoint.

What they need to add is a way for you to choose when to get revived after someone uses a moon or cosmo on you. I've seen so many people get revived only to die again right after. For example, after someone uses a revival item on you, a box will pop up asking if you want to be revived. You will only then be revived when you select "Yes" or something like that so that you can choose to do so when it's safe.

TaigaUC
Sep 4, 2013, 07:41 AM
Really? You're invulnerable for a while after revival though.

I wonder if it will only show the person who officially revived you and not everyone who throws one up. I usually get them before anyone else though.

As expected of a large update, core english patch, large files patch, story patch, the 3 of them will need new versions due to today's update, the previous versions of them will either not work or will be buggy.

Anyway, while PSO2 was updating on my PC, felt like making lists of unreleased weapons from the icons list.

I doubt that's a rare enemy if there's a noir variant, too. Maybe something in the story? Or maybe a special version in an EQ or something? Maybe a version that shows up all over amd? God, I can only hope for the latter. We need more multi-area enemies.

Who knows... I'm thinking that the normal crystals ones could be from very hard and the gold crystals ones from super hard, maybe Dragon Ex will start the fight in the powered up form in super hard?

With that in mind now, I get the feeling that there maybe a shot of new rare monsters.............................probably ones that appears in all areas on the same planet?

That could be. I hope they do that for everything, although I also hope it's a bit more different than different secondary coloring.

I'm still expecting a second tier of rare enemies though.

Thanks for the finished set of weapons and units, Ezo! Adding them in right now into the OP. ^^

I never had a problem with each update and now all of a sudden I am getting a gameguard error

GameGuard update failure. Error code 340, 350, 361, 380

when I load it up gameguard seems to be downloading all the files without a problem but after it finishes it opens up the browser sending me to that error page... anyone have an idea what it might be?

Glad to see you got your issue resolved. As a side note for the next time that this happens, you can also simply load up PSO2 Tweaker and go into the Orb Menu > Troubleshooting > Fix GameGuard Issues.

I think that there will be an Ultimate difficulty in the game, so I would not expect any radical changes to enemies (design-wise, AI, movement/attack speeds) until then, personally. I would definitely appreciate more creative enemies and enemy types, though.

These new weapons and units definitely bode well for the upcoming Super Hard difficulty, though. :)

I'm not so sure, seems like Super Hard will have more changes than previous difficulty modes, this was posted by Agrajag back in May:

Monsters seem to get new (or modified) behaviors on the next difficulty up, which is currently being called... err... "SuperVeryHard". For instance, Signo Beat seems to be able to create giant holograms (or something).

Nice! :D

Definitely looks like we'll be getting Ultimate in the form of Super Hard and onwards, if that is the case.

Wait a second here Super Hard is actually real?

Was browsing the JP wiki and they had "SH" listed. I thought it was just a joke for future modes.
Has there been any other information?

Super Very Hard is confirmed to be released in October, has been for at least two or more months.

In previous PSO/PSU - the hardest difficulties typically involved very fast moving mobs usually matching the rate a player can sprint; at least that's how I remember it. You really had to work for optimal positioning, and status effects really start helping - Freeze in the past has been very very beneficial for perma-locking really obnoxious mobs; Shock & Confusion weren't bad options either.

It was known during the Nico Nico broadcast of Episode 2 where the showcase the early content of Episode 2 and showed the roadmap for the year showing SH mode and level cap increase in Oct. (although I kinda wished it was a +10 lvl cap increase over 5)
