Since it's maintenance again, time to throw some PSO2 ideas (we all know it wont get implemented but might as well hope!)

Yeah affixing is a good system but in a sense it's limiting as everything around PSO2 revolves around dealing damage as much as possible (hence defensive soul doesn't even sell)

Everyone always ends up with the same affix goal (Soul + Abi + Power/etc + boost) while potential is kind of a saving grace, it's still limited to one weapon and again, everyone just goes for the same stuffs (more damage)

So let me introduce to you, the card system!

If you are familiar with RO (ragnarok online, basically the Mario of MMO) almost all monsters (99.9%) drops a card at a 0.01% rate and can be socketed to equipments.

What makes this the most fun system for me is the amount of sheer options to mix and match cards to get various effects, some examples are:
-% damage to certain race
-% resistance to certain race/element
-individual resistance to different status effect
-chance to inflict status effect
-get certain amount of gold
-auto cast skills when attacking/getting attack
-Plus different parameters (hp, attack, etc)

there are just tons of them

Now lets try to put it on PSO2.
Every 10 levels, you get a slot on your character up to 6 at the current level cap. Being able to equip it directly to your character means the effect stays regardless of what equipments you have so you can change to whatever equips (which is a problem with potentials)

Here is some PSO2 card examples (feel free to add your own)
Vol Dragon Card
-adds 5% chance of burning enemies when receiving physical damage.
-Enables to use all Foie skills (cost 50% more sp)

King Vhardha Card
-deals 20% more damage to all mech enemies.
-0.1% of summoning random mech to assist you in battle while attacking

Krabada Card
-Reduces damage receive while guarding by 50%

Mesetan Card
-Meseta drop rate doubles during weather effect

Dark Falz Elder Card
-Double damage on all darker type monsters but you receive double damage back.
-Enable to use Meteor Attack (100 pp 1 min cooldown)

Bal Blundarl
-5% chance to sap 30pp when attacking

Bantha Oran
-50% more damage when using Additional Bullet and Assault Buster cost double pp though

What you think about the system? Feel free to add cards too O3O

I will be positive and say it's a hell of a lot more interesting than bashing my face on the keyboard getting soul/attack3/etc/etc on every piece.

How is this even Yugioh? Just because it says card doesn't mean you play it as such =.=

Think of it as an equipable potential that you can carry six off.

How does PSO2 ES card system works?

And you will be bashing your head trying to get a card. 0.01% drop rate O3O

Some cards powers up certain skills only and or weapon/element.

Making tech like Barta do 50% damage via Bal Fish card, I think it will make the build diverse.

Don't forget a chance to fail and destory the card when attempting to attach it to a weapon that can be allieved by a random cash shop item or two.

yeah, and an item from the recycle shop: requires 50 ac items and raises the success chance by 5%

I like that idea.
Instead of the card being a 10* equivalent might a well make them a rather common drop (like 6* weps?iunno) but also having a chance (50%?)to break upon death.

The PvP everyone wanted will now come in the form of a children's card game.

The only "Card System" PSO needs is: Phantasy Star Online Episode 3 C.A.R.D Revolution.

OP should change the title. People seem to be confused
Edit: scratch 'card' entirely ,I guess

idk if this is the same card system that Ragnarok Odyssey uses. If this is then it could work. It'd be interesting if Sega add this to the game, just for diversity.

How about to fix the drop rate, each card has ranks:
Bronze drops commonly but has lower stats.
Silver is a rare drop.
Gold drops from boosted enemies.

You can combine 5 bronze to get 1 silver and 10 silver to get 1 gold o.oa
