View Full Version : What are some of the noobiest things you've done in PSO2?

Takatsuki
Nov 9, 2013, 12:50 AM
Alternatively, older PSO games, but try and keep it on the topic of PSO2.

Now I've never played any Phantasy Star games prior to PSO2 (well, I played like... an hour of PSZ, but that doesn't count), so I had no clue about ANYTHING. I joined during the closed beta, and here's some of the mistakes I made:

During the Closed Beta, I:
- Did not know that Client Orders existed. As such, I also didn't know that Mags existed.
- Did not know that the Matter Board existed.
- Did not know that the shopping lobby existed. I assumed all the teleporters were all block-changers and never attempted to go into any of the ones that went to the shopping lobby.
- Did not know that Skills existed.

During the Open Beta, I:
- Immediately went and equipped my first rare, a Kuscha Nebula, not knowing that it would be bound to me.
- Didn't know about the player shops being open to all players until only about a week before the Open Beta ended.
- After getting my Mag, I assumed that each level was worth "a couple points" in each stat, and thus put a few points into everything but T-ATK, ruining my mag forever. I even have a random 2 points in R-ATK (I was a Hunter) and about 50 combined points in DEFs.
- Put 1 point into War Cry to try and keep the heat off my friends, only to realize afterwards that it was a garbage skill. Used it once. Never again.

During the Full Release, I:
- Bought a voice ticket, only to realize that I couldn't use it because as it turns out, Caseals can't use the regular-sounding voice tickets.
- Vendored many, MANY room items from FUN scratch that would later end up being worth tens, if not hundreds of thousands of meseta.
- Vendored countless matterboard items that were things like 3-slot Power III weapons.
- Did not know until playing the full release for a couple hundred hours that you could repeat COs from certain clients.
- Did not know until putting over 1,000 hours into the game that you could just hold the pickup button and it would pickup items instead of having to tap it.

So... post yours!

Ranking from 1-10 with 1 being the noobiest out of me:

10. I got one shot by a digg in VH.
9. Didn't knew who the heck was Dudu.
8. Didn't knew what TACO stands for.
7. Didn't knew b20 existed until I started doing TAs with friends.
6. Wasted 25 tri-boosters when i didn't know what they did before.
5. Vendored 2k photon crystals before I knew what they where for.
4. Vendored 100 photon spheres before I knew what they where for.
3. I tried to tank dragon EX and quartz dragon together in Chaotic Border Break LQ with my braver and failed epicly.
2. I died from a dead vol and quartz not knowing that their fall will kill you.
1. I have no R-atk on my mag and I main GU.

Did not know what Weapons' Gears were for nor how they worked, and thus never got them from the skill tree until I put in hundreds of hours into the game. Before I knew about Weapons' Gears, my primary weapon was the Gunslash.

During the Amduscia time attack quest, I told the party that I can get both buttons in the platforming part (using my braver, uncharged kamikaze arrow can cover the distance between both buttons), but I failed the jump to the first button...repeatedly...

Using rare boosts + tris on falz and super falz for so long even after so many cases of not even having adamans rain on me most of the time.

Also before the stat reqs for armors were lowered those rare times I'd run around in Ruins MPAs or whatever and be perplexed why the big monsters were nearly killing me every hit and not noticing my armor was left unequipped until going to the counter to level another class.

Clearing ruins COs way back as a force but using Nesir and Thrillsplosion because I thought it was hilarious, especially when it rolled me out of the way of big hits

Every single time I messed up the timing on Vardha's main cannons early on learning it and got disintegrated by the resulting hyper beams.

All the times I started to assume an MPA would keep following my lead and ended up 2 or 3 nodes away before I looked behind me.

I thought everyone knew about the friendly fire on the Lilipan, due to having to take Echo along for a CO in the Mines quest, wherein she would ALWAYS kill it.

I learned a fun fact the other day. During Code: Escort, you can actually heal the Lilipan. Doesn't work with Rescue though.

Sold good fodder and ability-items to NPC.
Sold a few 10*s to NPC (just s*** armors thankfully) without paying attention when selling a bunch of items at once
Messed up all my skill trees and had to buy new ones with AC scratch (because it was long before the announcement of skill reset passes being given a few updates ago)
DIDNT feed my mag AT ALL on 2 characters that each had 3 classes in their 30s and 1 or 2 in their 20s.
*le sigh* Im sure there is more i cant think of right now.

Spent AC on 9 150% Rare boosts, to be stacked on a 50% area boost for Quartz. Spending them all over the course of a day in hopes to find a susanoguren from the boss. Then blowing 6 excubes for a 250% to do the same thing...just to find 8* weapons and armor units on SH difficulty.

I think I'm the only person in the game who's died to a nab rappy before.

I raise it to dying to a Digg.

At least Nab Rappies don't miss and trip while trying to attack you. I don't even know how did that happen.

I died to Diggs more times than to a nap rappy. So far count is 109 to 0 with nap losing.

Took me 45 levels to discover existence of JAs. Needless to say, the game got whole a lot easier.

Well yeah...no guides ever mentioned such a thing :| I thought JAs were normal attacks. One day I was admiring katana animations on campship, that's when I noticed the orange circle for the first time. I tried timing my attacks and noticed that it most certainly does something. Hopped in A1 and tried it out, bricks were shat.

And yes, I'm 100% serious, unfortunately.

1st PS game?

If you skipped Universe & Portables, even if you've played every single other PS game, then this is your first game with JAs.

The other games had power attacks as a separate button, or were turn-based (lol).

- Did not know that Client Orders existed. As such, I also didn't know that Mags existed.

So... post yours!

I just did the voice ticket mistake and im level 49. Spent 700k on it and spent an hour plus searching for it in player shops lol. All these mistakes listed I have messed up sometime or another. The JA was just discovered at level 45 (I knew about it but never used it). I spent alot of money on ac to become premium in order to buy a 10*weapon, only to find out I need to find a ten star pass to buy a ten star by finding a ten star weapon... Didn't realize the importance of hunter when building my FI/HU until level 40. Bought a new mag because my skill mag does not help much at all with damage out put. Still making nub mistakes everytime I log on. lol
