I almost put this in Off-Topic, but I decided it would probably be a little more interesting here. I mean, it's not that I'm out of ideas on what to watch, (I'm trying Sound of the Sky tonight) I just felt like seeing what you people would recommend.

I need more school/slice/comedy anime. Stuff like:

Azumanga Daioh
K-On!
Nichijou
Yuyushiki

Basically, just cute, cartooney slice shows that rely on character interaction instead of an overarching story. If you wanna browse what all I've seen, you can check out my Hummingbird (http://hummingbird.me/users/Jim/watchlist#completed).

Also, if your favorite tenouttaten anime isn't listed there, I haven't seen it. I'm open to all anime recommendations really, so feel free to tell me how great it is and how my life is invalid until I've seen it. haha

Sora no Woto is basically the best. (Sound of the Sky).

The first couple seasons of Hidamari Sketch were great too. I'm not so hot on anything after those though.

How many episodes of Hidamari do I have to watch in order to know if I like it? I watched the first three and I wasn't a big fan, so I dropped it. Everyone talks about it though, so I've been thinking about picking it back up.

its slow.
Purposefully slow. Its about 4 art students who eat food and go MOE for goodnessake.

I particularly enjoyed season 4 of the series but only because lesbian feels.
(no not really)

Toradora! is one of my favorites. It has lots of silly moments but also has serious plot development. Another in a somewhat different setting is Wandering Son. Then, I found Shuichi Nitori as very familiar so I suppose I'm biased in that regard. It's much less of a comedy though, and much more of a serious drama. If you want something with perhaps somewhat less drama and more childlike wonder, Dennou Coil. Honestly, Dennou Coil is often overlooked I think, and it can be particularly engrossing because such a future is seemingly so close. And, don't worry, it does have its lighthearted and funny moments. A bit of a warning if you have a glasses fetish: Everyone wears them because the glasses are technology key to the plot. If you want comedy though, I'd be hard pressed to find a series funnier than Panty and Stocking.

Since posting this, I've watched "The Devil is a Part-Timer!", Steins;Gate, Gunslinger Girl, and Chuunibyou (http://www.hulu.com/love-chunibyo-and-other-delusions). (Which was probably the best slice show this season besides Yuyushiki (http://www.hulu.com/watch/489409#i0,p0,d0).) I'm on episode 7 of Soranowoto now, and it's very different from how I imagined it, but still good!

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I'll certainly be checking all of these shows out.

I don't have a problem with slow. Really, it was the animation that didn't sit right with me; particularly the frequent use of full-screen color flashes, as seen here:

Maybe it's just because I edit a lot of video, but those pink flashes made me feel like the show's missing frames. It gets pretty distracting for me. But like I said, I only saw three episodes and it's been months. I'll power through the first season and see how I feel then.

EDIT: Almost forgot to add an extra video.

I used to follow older long-ass series like Urusei Yatsura, Ranma, Tenchi Muyo.
Azumanga was nice & newer - each episode is short & fun. Can't beat Chiyo in a penguin suit.
If you haven't see it, try Haré+Guu (Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu).

Yeah thats Shinbo being Shinbo.
That kind of stuff works /alot/ better in the other series he directed; Zetsubou Sensei because of how absurd and ridiculious it is.

Shaft the company in general has AMAZING bouts of /what/ in terms of quality as well I admit.

Some of these have varying levels of drama or plot, but all of them fall under slice-of-life.

Minami-Ke (Season 1 only, as the following seasons get progressively worse)
ARIA the ANIMATION
Haibane Renmei (A little bit more dramatic than most, but if you enjoy Sora no Woto and Gunslinger Girl I think this one is a good choice)
Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight
Kamichu
Usagi Drop
Dennou Coil
Natsume Yuujinchou

Other suggestions from varying genres:
Black Lagoon
Seirei no Moribito
Spice and Wolf
Birdy the Mighty: Decode

This show never got enough love. It was the first slice-of-life I truly enjoyed.
