I believe it is Gu/Hu, because of Fury Stance combined with Chain Trigger, but I'm not sure

I can land massive damage as a Br/Te, so I'm scared to think of what a Br/Hu can do XD

Br/Hu and Gu/Hu both have amazing burst and sustained DPS

Any party with a Ranger in it makes short work of any boss. Ra/Hu, Gu/Ra, or Br/Ra work fairly well for this.

Fi/Hu is pretty good.

Fo/Fi, Fo/Br, or Fo/Te is OP in VH or lower difficulties.

Now what about only katana no bow

Then you could try this Br/Hu build (http://ryuhiroshi.funpic.de/pso2/skillcalc.php?06eRbnIkbnIkbnIkbnIkbnIkbnIkbnIkcPlE 7BInqnGKsNIpjJiGA000007b000009b000000lb000009b0000 00lb0000000ebqB4OdnmxsXI2l20000), courtesy of gigawuts (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3076441#post3076441).

Or something else from the link in my signature.

HuBr is much better DPS than BrHu yes, but getting your hands on a Susano Guren right now will break the bank. The reason why is that you can equip Geki, which allows you to pull some very powerful Assault Busters which can be better than using Katana attacks.

(also Hunter has higher S-Atk)

However, item crafting in January might let you make a stronger Katana that's HU equippable, so you don't have to break the bank to play HuBr effectively.

Go with a tree like this for maximum DPS, and a 175 S-Atk Mag.

I've considered Geki for a while, but wasn't sure after picking up Ride Slasher 16. Is it near or fully one-shotting SH mobs?

it one shots

That's assuming you can't make some other katana way stronger since you don't have to waste a craft making it Hunter equipable. And then you could multi-class Geki.

Fuck, and I thought I was done buying and upgrading stuff already after my units and bow. Might just pick one up first before doing anything to it and wait and see how the crafting system affects it.

I still say a modest dex investment on mags is preferable over straight atk. very, very few weapons require the last 30 or so atk you spend on a mag, but plenty of items require a bit of dex. How much dex will change over time, between new gear and new level cap increases.

If you ever find an orochiagito or some similar uber rare and find yourself 5 satk short you can just drop 1-2% from some damage skill and put it in an satk up.

Br/Fi isn't too bad of a DPS class. Only, you have to be pretty accurate with which stance you choose for which boss.

Thanks to B.Arrow, Kami Arrow is keeping the Bow as a solid boss weapon seeing as you can double your damage. Heck. Br/Ra if it hasn't been mentioned. You could land, with enough timing, up to 500k in a burst.

The multi class Partizan not one shotting (unless you had every buff known to man and proper gear/build) in SH was one of the main issues with the class. In VH, you just hit everything once and kept moving forward, that was the mentality you had as a Fi/Hu. When SH came out, we had to change how we approach the enemy, because the stuff we use in VH doesn't always work. now, with this new weapon customization coming in a few weeks, I'm pretty sure they'll come running back to Fighter. I have a feeling something is going be ridiculously over powered on day 1 w/custom. I just hope I'm already a owner of that weapon so I can get rich quick o3o

In my opinion, Braver and Gunner with HU sub are the top candidates in no particular order. Fi/Hu is very close to them though but they don't have the range as the former two classes have like Shunkan, Hatou, Infinite Fire. After that, Ra/hu is still viable since Wb is always welcomed in a party setting and they can still do massive damage after you get past their steeper learning curve.

Hu, Fo and Te mains are abysmal in SH from a DPS perspective. Hu's only saving grace is a strong assault buster and Fo/tes with crowd control zondiels. All three of them do lower damage than the other classes though. I only play my Fo/te for TACOs now since I don't prefer using the class in SH unless absolutely necessary.

I really hope technic customization and the new technics coming in spring will help bring FO and TE up to par in terms of single target DPS (Though their AoE could probably use a boost, too).

gigawuts

Honestly, I really think the tech customization is going to be less about giving players options and more about removing the burden of responsibility for finer tech balancing from Sega's shoulders, so they know where to take each tech with future boosts. When we've all minmaxed everything and they see what we go with and say "Oh, everyone went with more damage for namegid instead of more AOE" and "huh, so nafoie is used for dps???" plus a bit of "players wanted faster charging zondeel, i wonder why" they'll just tweak those techs at level 21, and/or add new skills to help cater to that role (faster charging for support techs during territory burst, etc.)

This takes some of the responsibility of knowing things about their own game out of their hands. While before they had raw numbers for how often players used what techs and PAs and probably used that and only that to rebalance damage at 11+ and 16+, that didn't tell them why. Did players use Foie for its direct damage, its PP efficiency, or its fast charge? This will tell them which.
