View Full Version : HELP! What kind of broth can I eat with soba?

I think I want to make soba tonight. Most of the recipes I've seen recommend Bonito-flavored soup base, but they don't have that at Kroger or Wal-Mart. I need some kind of a ridiculously easy broth I can have with soba. Preferably one that will compliment tempura shrimp or chicken.

If I don't get a reply to this, I'm probably going to try ramen powder, and I have no idea if that will work at all. Help would be appreciated.

Edit: Or if you know of a good Japanese cooking forum that's pretty active, that would be useful information. Everything I find hasn't been posted on in days.

Cookin and shit. Not sure what I'm doing, so I'm tapping all resources.

For the record, I'm trying beef broth with soy sauce and a little sugar.

I misread the title as saying "sofa."

Figured it was an FKL thread.

To my surprise the FKL thread wasn't in FKL.

Then I noticed the title didn't say "sofa."
