Azanami has such a delightful "personality" and pleasant voice. I like her a lot, play her NPC a bit if you can, she's funny.

As for male side... I don't really seem to care for most of them. Tempted to vote for Joseph because the guy is a BAMF, but then again, Klotho is so nice to us with his TACOs... hmmm. Need to think on this more.

I'm expecting Patty to win the female side.
Going from polls, fanart, NPC clone players and so on, she seems to be the most popular female character by far.
She's fun, silly, lively and busty. That's a popular combination of traits.
Quna would probably be second, followed by maybe Echo, Matoi or Melphonseana.

No idea who will win the male side.
I'd suspect Dudu would win if he was an available choice.
But they've already made lots of merchandise of him, so...

Maybe it's just me, but I think most of the characters have pretty bland backstories. Interesting personalities, but not stories.
I think Gettemhart and Melphonseana are the most interesting couple.
Their backstories have the most weight, without being bizarrely corny, vague or silly.
Still nothing amazing though. Can't shake the feeling of cliches all over the place.

Quna gets my vote for having the most touching matterboards and being a finely developed character in general. They put a lot of care into her (and Hadred's) scenes for the Vita release, and it shows.

Afin gets my vote on the male side for being a genuinly fun character. He gets a lot of hate around these parts, but that wouldn't be the case if people bothered playing the story at all. He really just left that bad first impression in the tutorial sequence, haha. Despite some tropes revolving his character, among all he's the one I would call multidimensional without hesitation, and the character that has had the most development of all characters in the story at this point.

Yeah, but the problem is that he just doesn't have anything that makes him stand out besides the fact that he's chummy with you. It is nice how he gets his shit together after that tutorial sequence, though.

Klotho won not because he gives out free money in TACOs but because he is the only super suave androgynous male character not jacked on steroid muscles like gettamhart is. As a gunner, he's got the style in killing enemies casually and in such a charismatic nonchalant way that player can't help but to respect this guy. And so does that one girl on the podcast. Not so much the voice is off-putting, but it's more on the tone+who it belongs to.

For a sorta tomboyish character like Io, it works.

For that podcast girl, and Mike Tyson, yes the voices are mismatched

Io is still likeable, and had alot going for her though. Seemingly blunt, and less girlish than the others (with a voice that seems to match the persona), on top of being the player's junior. I'm not sure if it's a good sign or a bad sign that you don't need a chest of Patty's size when you're that short to be popular too...

Agreed! Not to mention she created braver class, she mentioned it herself! Be glad that if you're Shunka'ing all the time now it's because of her you ingrates!

I voted Lisa myself, but half-wanting Azanami to win, she's just too cute.

It always bothered me how she made the braver class herself, mainly because I'm yet to hear an explanation on one thing:

If Hunters strengthen their body with photons
and Rangers sense weak points through changes in photons
and Forces use technics by manipulating photons

Braver is supposed to be a glass-cannon-esque class that dominates in power and lacks of defense, in terms of MMORPGs. But since in PSO2 everything is converted into character-based stats, [inserts rants about how BR came to be OP].

Basically think of HU as an European sword wielder and BR as a Samurai sword wielder.

Fighter is just a specialization of hunter focused on speed rather than raw power.

Gunner is sort of a hybrid between ranger and hunter/fighter in they manipulate both their own bodies and their weapons simultaneously.

Techer is just a different flavor of Force that uses a different weapon (Wand Gear is a part of the wands themselves, but you have to train to be able to use it).
