View Full Version : What goal do you need to accomplish in order to "beat" PSO2

Valimer
Feb 22, 2014, 03:25 PM
I've been thinking about how everyone has different goals in PSO2 despite the nature of the design of PSO2 being so shallow. How can goals differ in a stat-centric game about finding gear?

So what is the point of the game then? Find the rarest gear? Get the best stats? Both? For a lot it's neither. Mine is getting as close to immortality as possible, which means finding Guld Milla and affixing enough health to prevent ever being killed in a single hit.

What's your end game?

Being richer than anyone else!

And then ruining everyone else's game experience by buying literally every item on the market!

Ohohohohohoho!

Every post Ark makes makes me want to gutpunch him even more.

Me? Partially grabbing the Sange, but given its 11* XQ status, that's going to be literally impossible. Other goals I have is to get everything to 65, maybe find SOME SORT OF A GODDAMN 11* for a change.

Valimer
Feb 22, 2014, 03:30 PM
Yeah, I have yet to join the 11* club. It makes me sick to see so many people with GM, ugh.

You dont win this game, you never win any of these games, you just get the rare you want, level cap, and then hang out in team chat until the day the servers die.

You can't "beat" a chat room man.

That's the point of this thread, everyones definition of beating the game is different. Personally, just because I accomplish my goal of beating the game doesn't mean I wouldn't play it anymore.

My goal is pretty simple. I just want to enjoy the game. o o; I've played the Phantasy Star series since the beginning RPGs and I've had my fill of fulfilling goals.. Now I'm just going along for the ride to be honest. :)

My definition of beating the game.... ehh?

Hmm... I'd say it'd have to be finding an Orochi-Agito, 50-Elementing it, 5 slotting it, and+40 Grinding it.

When that day comes (....never....), then I will have beaten PSO2.

But before doing that, "I must defeat DuDu to stand a chance."

PSO2 is a time waster for me, so there's nothing to beat.

Well, my goal is to recollect all of my PSO1 favorite weaponry and make them as powerful as physically possible.

Starting with my trusty Sacred Dusters.

Long time ago, when I first became a Gunner, and looking at the the list of TMG, seeing Guld Milla and said 'It will be my dream to own a Guld Milla, and if I finally have it, I'll be the happiest Gunner'.

And finally got it from TD EQ....xD
My goal now is to use TMG Gunner until I'm bored of it :p
Because for me, TMG never bores me as it has 4 very useful PAs (soon to be 5) which I can alternate between, without feeling I'm losing too much damage by doing so. I even start using Messiah Time after many people recommend it, and I'm loving it so far.

My another goal is to re-train my Ranger skill, so I can become a proper RAHU at last (It was my 1st class combo, and then I saw an interesting twin pistol weapon, and I never turned back lol)

-Complete "My To Collect List".
-Complete "My Fun Shenanigan Challenges".
-Team Dies.
-Get to the point where the game isn't fun anymore with "My Fun Shenanigan Challenges".
-Continue to play until a new game of my interest takes me away.

Once I complete all of these challenges then I'd officially complete my PSO2 experience.

That's a nice topic. Honestly I don't really know what my endgame goal is. Probably the same thing that was already mentioned here: Having fun.

I enjoy playing with my friends and our team, and even these days where you just sit around in the lobby and talk with everyone are nice days. I feel very happy when someone asks me if I'd like to join Tacos/AQ's/XQ's/EQ's. Just enjoying this game with all the people that I like makes me happy, as cheesy as this sounds.

Oh and another goal is to beat the last boss Dudu, and then I'll become my role as protag in the animated series, and after that I take over the world... fufufufuf...

I suppose affixing the dam thing is my goal now xD

50 element Guld Milla.

WildarmsRE5

Same goal as the OP, be Immortal.

however, I already have the Guld Milla, max latent and +10 so now I'm just waiting for the Celesta Laser to drop cause 10% HP per 5 secs. . . definitely would add to my immortality.

you know. . . those times when you want to use a different weapon?

Beating a mmo? I don't think I have anything I have to do in it, in order to 'release' myself from it.

I play for cosmetics, my character and combat system. Also, setting and story.

So according to your answer, you would be OK if there was no leveling up and all gear stats were the same?

50 element Guld Milla.

Progress after a year: 0%

I'll trade you my 27 dark GM for your 26 dark god hand (or was it 28?).

...I bet you'd actually do it too. I know that feel, wanting an item that just won't drop then finding something rarer that you didn't even want instead.

Macman
Feb 23, 2014, 07:34 PM
Except I actually use fists. :v

Too bad Fi/Hu can't use it until they either raise the mag cap to 200, or give us the level 70 cap. I can only equip and use PAs as Br/Fi or Ra/Fi.

At least it's not as bad as those Braver Mag bravers struggling to use their Orochis.

Well, yes. Maybe except for the stats part, because that'll remove 'slower weapon, but more damage' and similar gameplay variety.
But for 1* weapon to deal the same damage as 10* weapon, sure, why not. I still run around with a red katana, because it looks better than most.

Main goal = Having fun

Other goals = Cleared all Matterboards and do every story related quest
Defeat every boss at least once
Having a epic final battle against Dark Falz
Hug a Booma (very important)
And fall asleep on Olga Flow missing out on awesome rares

LOL, someone did this on PSU. I think it was catilium (synth mat) and the pricing of what was spoon fed back out to the community was very highly priced.
It was quite the big deal.

There's no "beating" PSO2 for me, but there is a state of having mounted it and calling it my bitch.

The factors doing so would necessitate are likely a few simple things in the current meta...

- x4-5 Affixes on all pieces of gear
- Full solo/no damage SH boss run video (as TE/HU)

Goal: Killing enough Dark Ragnes so that one shows up at my doorstep in real life for me to command.

SubGoals: Out dressing Radiant/Legend Aim (Fashion)

No other goals. I don't need 11 star weapons when I can use a dinky 8-9 star and kill just fine. So unlike PSO/PSU, I don't play the game for rare hunting.

I guess it would be to have a 50 fire susanoguren 4sed, the black orakio pareo, long hairstyle, and mag coming march 20th, and maybe a voice ticket to use that won't annoy me after 5 minutes (I've been using unique voice 12 forever).

Oh, and to solo tower defense as a newearl HU/BR. Then I'll feel like I truly beat the game for now

After a decade of playing MMOs I've learned that chasing numbers, sharp swords and shining pieces of armor is nothing but a huge meaningless circle if you don't appreciate the process or those around you.

My goal is thus to get to know as many nice people as possible, be patient with everything I do and try to team up as often as possible - simply have fun and let the loot come 2nd!
