When affixing items of the same name (fodder only)

So i was going over the patch notes yesterday and i noticed this

When affixing abilities, using the same item as materials increases success rates.
So i tried today and the only situation it works in is this, where all 3 items are the same.

It gave power iii a 9% boost while Quartz soul was a 7% boost. I'm going to take a guess and say all special abilities like souls will give a lower boost than everything else. I have only tried this with these two so something like power ii might have a bigger boost to it.

I tried it this way too when there were two of the same item as the material on to your actual target item.

Also tried to see if it would be a lesser result if your target item was the same as only one of your material item

They both didn't work. Anyways, this pretty much only applies to making fodder and could come in use when an affix boost event is active.

They did say something to that extent in the video, but I didn't think it would already be implemented.
Isn't that simply the regular scheduled boost? 110% and 115% respectively?

no this was in the patch notes and its permanent the additional 10% boost is next week

Hmm that's rather interesting, I wonder whats the increase for adding slots now (if they did that this update).

They are below the campaign info for this week and just above the comments. You have to expand them.

My bad, the permanent boost that I was thinking about was for expanding slots, not for regular affixing.
