LOL i was just as naive before :-?
i also first came into this game thinking everyone here were all anime otaku fans who play pso2 for the anime aesthetics and the anime roleplaying. not very true. sooner or later, i actually went from playing pso2 for the anime aspect to the more "semi-hardcore gaming" aspect. Soon leveling and getting shitton rares became more important to me when i hit level 50 than cosplaying my character so it looked like harem king raku of nisekoi.

Don't get it twisted. I'm an anime otaku as well. I also have years of roleplaying under my belt. I'm just not open about it unless it fits the situation.
