I'm just about to import the JP Vita version and get properly into the game, but it's pointless if it's going to be released in the West, am I missing something? Also there hasn't been an announcement of an English-language Vita release has there?

Cheers,

No, there hasn't been any news aside from "It has been delayed..." for about a year an a half with no other info of the game NA/EU wise.
Also keep in mind that the wiki can be edited by anyone.

Thought so, only reason I asked was due to the citations page which does seem to suggest it, I mean what's this page all about? http://pso2.playpark.com/en/signup/

That's the SEA version of the game hosted by Asiasoft.

Ah ok, and we're blocked from that version aren't we, everyone's still on PSO2 JP?

Also I just wanted to double-confirm, if I buy the PSO2 Episode 2 Vita cart second hand I'll be able to play on my PAL Vita no problem right?

Yeah, we are IP blocked from that version. You could still find a way to play it using some sort of a VPN but the JP has much more content and it's less expensive.
And yep, almost everyone is still playing the JP version.

As for the Vita, I think so.
The cards work with NA Vitas and its meant to play with JP Vitas. But I can't confirm with a PAL one though.

Cheers for the info - if anyone's tried it on a PAL Vita please let me know, if not I'll just buy it and report back :)

It'll work just fine (I have several friends in the UK and the Netherlands who are playing on Vita without any issues). No region locking on the Vita, and because all the displays come from one source, PAL isn't an issue (since its just a video standard for 50Hz display, which doesn't apply to the vita).
