Lol, Circle Switch. _(:3」∠)_ This is the entire reason I changed my title like a week or two ago.

I love things like this!

I don't think many people on the forums can read Japanese so here's a translation of the text in the video.

How to do it:
Have at least 1 person stand on the switch while the other characters circle around the outside of it.

Actual test video:
Upper Left: 1 person standing on top - ~19 seconds
Upper Right: 1 person on top, 1 person circling around the switch - ~8 seconds
Lower Left: 4 people on top - ~15 seconds
Lower Right: 1 person on top, 3 people circling around the switch - ~4 seconds

This is relevant for TA only? It seems to be lacking context.

It's for any wait-on switch, which right now only really appear in the Altar TA (although they did appear in the Easter EQ too).

I think equipping a lilipan suit and run in circle would be even faster.

It is the voodoo dancing ritual.

It works for any switch of the same type. XQs have those, but you probably won't see them again in like years. So basically, with the current content, yes.

ur stupidVery uncalled because even if this works it still looks ridiculous circling around like little kids.

I will try this on my next TA runs.

I would try this if I were a poor person who needed to do TA for meseta!

And people has discovered this... more than a year later? or were there a few privileged ones? or any hint the debs said for people to discover it? That's really amusing, but say... someone knew it, and didn't share, and competed in time attack rankings lol

The TA quests are actually the only fun part of this game. Inb4 some kid comes and cries, yes this is entirely subjective.

It was discovered about a month ago, and that's when all the TA'ers found out about it. Any recent Altar TA video has circle switch in it, such as the 2:55 4P and 3:38 RA 2P (the 2P is really disappointing from a speedrun perspective IMO though..).

The TA quests are actually the only not fun part of the game : too damn repetitive, really easy but unbalanced between classes, ultra scripted (as stiff as a japanese tradition) and boosting your epeen depending on your latency with the server. It's one of the worst way to earn your virtual life I have seen in a game. The truth is, if it wasn't for the dashing I would have died of boredom in an amduscia run.

I'm too lazy to go into the specifics of Time Attack, but if you think the normal game is "deeper" than the TA metagame or anything like that, you've got another thing coming.

That being said though, with the way Time Attacks are presented in the game and how they're used, it's easy to see why doing your TACOs each day is repetitive and boring, because it is.

I wonder how something like this comes about, from a programming perspective.

Seconded. Kind of hard to do this by accident...right? Right?!

At any case, this kind of made me laugh and I hope it was intentional.

Oh good, everyone can make their already impressive show of skill even more impressive by running in circles.

The one with the hubr (3'40?) was really entertaining, this 2p run doesn't impress me really.

Sega should seriously make new ta quests for more diversion. Not even asking for tacos...

They do that sometimes. Everything you get from them is GREAT! with a mission clear grinder and they're always straight lines to a boss room. Oh, and dark falz hands + elder that one time. Meh.

I wonder how something like this comes about, from a programming perspective.

The switch is probably its own entity checking for the hitbox/position of player entities for movement. Judging by the 4p 2:55 it doesn't seem like you really need to move in circles, but need to move while touching its side.

How did someone find this? Well it's already been known that it's possible to make the switch continue by standing on the side instead of on top. Maybe someone was doing that, started moving, and noticed the switch jump.

My guess is that it checks for a player touching the switch each frame but since they aren't technically standing on top of the switch, it makes it as if they repressed the switch each frame making it go much faster.
